I went there knowing that building one was a must-do if you can, and it definitely is. Thing that wasn’t mentioned here and I don’t see in many comments. The lightsaber experience is amazing. You pick a kyber crystal in the experience, which is your lightsaber color. And then in the gift shop you can purchase all for the other colors (effectively being able to change your lightsaber color with the crystals). The red crystals sold in the shop have a 1/230 something (don’t quote me on the odds) chance to be a BLACK crystal, super rare. Very fun to try and see if you can pull the rare crystal. Further, the crystals can be inserted into the Sith and Jedi holocrons to hear unique messages. By far for me the most intricate and Unique experience I would 11/10 consider a must buy over a falcon replica or anything else.

    I'm not a die hard star wars fan, but I am a life long fan (if that makes sense). Last time we were there I did the light saber workshop and it was sooooo cool. I was on the fence, given the price tag, but I'm really glad I did. you get to bring one person in with you, and my wife said I looked like the happiest kid ever. lol. Then walking around the park at night with a crazy bright saber was fun. I'd definitely do that again to add to the collection.

    Hey, just for people that are going to galaxy’s edge for the first time, there is also a lightsaber store for full metal replicas of popular character sabers. Building your own is amazing, but if you just want vaders saber or something I recommend popping into that store. The quality is insane. ALSO, the droids and sabers can be shipped. Me and all my friends got droids and didn’t want to carry them around. They ship them for you for a small fee. We shipped 2 droids, 2 backpacks with air instead of ground shipping and it was $40. I have a warning to the black crystal! It doesn’t have a special lightsaber Color, and when inserted into the Holocron isn’t some epic Mando Jedi, Revan, unique Maul variant, or even Pre-Visla. In Oct 2020 I took the family down for vacation. Wife gave the ok for the Droid and Saber on the same trip.... While the droid build was great, the saber experience was amazing. Star Wars was the first movie I saw in theaters at age 3 in 77 so I have a very deep love of this franchise, and they nail that experience perfectly. We got the Detonator Coke, brought home a Millenium Falcon coffee travel cup, kids all get a beast from the pet shop, destroyed a Rontos wrap(how could you forget this) and blue milk from our most recent trip in Oct this year and finally got on Rise of the Resistance (twice). @@thorodinson1933 Well that’s your opinion and it differs a little bit from mine. It would have sense to me to not exclude the OT and prequals so much and have a bit of all. Or start with the OT or maybe even start with the prequals (because those fans might be a bit younger) and then add the rest later. They can push the sequals as much as they want, it won’t change my mind nor the many many people that share the same opinion that I have, the opinion of the sequals being terrible and unsavable. But as I said in my initial comment, they’re totally ignoring that fact. That’s why I have no desire whatsoever to visit this place. And I think this is one of the reasons why it’s numbers are doing so bad. I am however quite happy with the anthology films abd the tv shows so in my opinion they are not doing everything wrong so I do have hope (no pun intented), but am just not a fan of anything that even reminds me of the sequals.

    I really wanted to build a custom lightsaber, I even said I wasn’t leaving without one. No where on the website or in the park did it even say that it was a reservation only experience. I was so disappointed, that I just decided to go into Dok Ondar’s to buy Count Dooku’s saber and have a nice souvenir. Now that I know that, I’ll make a reservation and get one next time I go, but Disney should take notes and list it on the website or put a sign up or something.

    I like the $5 metal gift card in the droid depot. You have to put $100 on it but if you’re going to buy something it’s worth it. It’s a really nice keepsake

    I suggest the first thing you buy is a Batuuan Spira Credit Medallion. It’s a fancy gift card that you have to buy with a starting value of $100, but let’s face it, you’re spending at least $100. If you get this coin first, then you can use it throughout your time in Galaxy’s Edge and pay in style 😏

  • @italstalta
    @italstalta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Bonus suggestion: The Batuu gift card coin. Not sure if there is a fee now, but it used to be free when you get $100 on it to spend at the parks.

    The most important thing to buy it´s the wrist band, without it you miss all the minigames in Galaxy´s Edge, 40 bucks for each.

    You have overlooked the mystery droid crate from the same shop you could get the big RC droids from. Fairly cheap for Disney’s normal rates and and great quality little droid. Got a great little orange and dark grey BB unit.
    Overall great video tho

    If this pops up in anyone’s feed and you’re looking to get into Savi’s workshop, my wife and I went recently to try to get walk-ins as her dad was able to in the past. We were not able to get in, and the cast member told us that you need to reserve your date around 60 days in advance now.
    This is only for the Savi’s Workshop and not Legacy Lightsabers

    2 questions, can you build double bladed lightsabers?
    Are they sturdy enough for dueling or rather just for showcasing???

    • @dan_hitchman007

      Showcasing. If you want a better built lightsaber there are custom craftspeople out there in the community who will build you a movie prop quality item.
