2:23 i find it so funny how these guttertanks are pretty much made to be the counter to the metal monstrosity that single handedly ended trench warfare and yet you can beat a horde of them with a really strong magnet and a portable energy source, materials civilians (or at least engineers or regular soldiers) probably had access to.
the idea was to show that you can loop their melee without spending resources and just shoot them with your straightforward weapons of choice, and what better way than with the dinky-ass pistol that only gets a limb bonus at best against them?

i personally have almost to no issues with guttertanks as i can just keep my distance away and do multiple projectile boosts my main issue comes with mannequins, i cannot defeat them consistently
they're extremely vulnerable to parrying on both of their attacks pretty much instakilling them. also you can parry their homing projectile for health very easily too
you can also instakill mannequins with a punch while they’re mid-air (you can easily get them into this state by damaging them while they are clinging to walls ir ceilings)
Guttertanks are absolutely the new top priority enemies. If there's even more than one you always have to play around it to not get Game Over'd. However the mines are an easy and plentiful way to heal, since it counts as a parry. It's definetely an enemy that does feel unfair at times, but once you play his game he can become manageable. Hard, but manageable.

Outside of comedy value and being an exaggeration of the very first clip, the mob of guttertanks at the end was an unrealistic extreme shown to demonstrate how consistently Attractor magnets restrict their territory, meaning in larger fights like the end of 7-3, you can tag them with magnets and simply keep some distance rather than performing acrobatics or burning stamina to dodge them normally. It’s important to note that they don’t actually take self damage from colliding with their own magnetized rockets until you ride them first, but with how much influence they have in the flow of a fight, some easy breathing room is welcome anyway.
@Draycos324 thank you kindly for the explanation, also this really does help surprisingly much with the Guttertanks. I've been trying custom levels and they're all so fun but every single one of them had Guttertanks ruining it all for me haha once again thank you
They're definitely bullies - when I first encountered them, I was equal parts "dang this enemy is so cool" and "dang this enemy punishes a lot of what we take for granted". Glad this is a helpful resource!
The clip at 1:09 shows there's more than enough time to do just that, and consistently. The goal of this video was to show ways to control them without burning all your coins or rail BECAUSE those options are so strong. "Just nuke them with the highest damage combos" stops working when you fight a sufficient number of enemies and have to pick and choose which you evaporate; you only get the one rail and four coins until they need to recharge. Being able to manipulate enemy types and fight them with other tools makes for robust play! I think it's what the game's harder fights goad you to do, and P-2's stage portion is built very carefully around it too. Using saws is arguably overkill in that selfsame way, but with magnets interfering with them as is, they make great candidates for saw traps whether for damaging them or enemies they wander into, so I gave that a pass...
