Look closely at Kai's chi collection. Tai lung and Shen are there on his belt, which means he's literally stronger then every Kung fu panda villain.

I didn’t think they made him stronger I just thought they were their for him to use whenever needed. He’s just strong cuz he trained with oogway and he’s had 500 years to master his skills
No other being has had the might neither nobility to wield not one, but two villains
Oogway is so chill. Even when he was about to be turned into a jade, he just accepts it peacefully. It's like he goes through life not lingering on any negatives and always trusting that everything will be okay eventually. It's weird but his attitude reminds me of the character Ted Lasso. I can't really pinpoint the exact similarities but I know that their characters are both aspirational, like the best humans can be.
It's a very Buddhist/eastern way of thinking. To erase suffering you must first accept that death and destruction of all things are inevitable. once you accept that things are finite, and make peace with that fact you can appreciate how precious every moment with every living and non living thing truly is, and when the end for one of things, even yourself, arrives, nothing is any different than you already knew it to be. Instead of being sad you lost it, you're glad you had it for the time you did.
Kai is played by JK Simmons, the guy who plays J Jonah Jameson from the original spiderman trilogy and Omni-man from Invincible.

Dreamworks actually has a really good record with trilogies so far. Kung Fu Panda and How to train your Dragon both have a great arch going over all 3 films and ending on a great note

No matter the interpretation: Pupil, Warrior, Teacher; Body, Mind, Soul; Present, Past, Future.
This trilogy is one of the best one out there! Everything is so perfect. Has the theme and development both as character and as plot wise; Chinese culture; music, soundtrack; Shifu and Ugway wisdom words. Can't get tired of these films 👍
A bit of an interesting detail, during Oogway's flashback you can see Kai used to have a double-bladed staff, but Oogway broke it during their fight, so now he still uses the two blades but attached to chains
26:42 totally agree .. but Kungfu panda trilogy are all awesome. A very very well done on each movie. The humor, the animation, the voice actors, details fighting scene, of course cute Po, every little thing is just well done. I wish there's another movie like this in the future

@@a1saiyan382 you just gotta read a lot of the reviews it gets on forums etc. the thing i see the most is that people thought it was to childish or it wasn’t serious like the other movies because of the humor, but i think that this is just as good as the other movies. I don’t see a lot of people on youtube hate on it, but as soon as you start reading some reviews, you’ll see that this is not as appreciated as the first 2

SEB, you should go to Hans Zimmer's concert when he tours in London in March 2022, his concerts are AMAZING. He's the composer who did the music for these Kung Fu Panda films, Inception, Interstellar, Gladiator, Nolan's Batman films, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lion King, etc. Most of the soundtracks I just named are usually performed at his concerts. He's having 2 concerts in London and 1 in Manchester. And I think he's going to be there in person (sometimes his orchestra tours without him). Tickets are selling pretty quickly it seems, YOU SHOULD GO

Kai's theme is an instrumental of a song called "I'm So Sorry" and it's just as amazing

I'm so glad you liked this one so much; I agree wholeheartedly. And Kai's theme was freaking brutal; I couldn't get over how much I loved this soundtrack. Tying things up with Master Oogway was terrific.
HTTYD is excellent, but this is still my favorite.
Kai's theme song is actually the song "I'm so sorry" from Imagine Dragons but remixed to fit the theme of the movie. I find it really cool that they decided to use this kind of a song. Fits well with the character.

@@marisasarmiento4736 Kung Fu Panda 3 is the best in the franchise. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (the favorite of most people), Lord Shen attacked the panda village, but there was nobody to save them. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Kai attacks the village and Po has to save them. Which was the perfect idea for the third installment of this franchise. One thing that people hate about this movie was the “disappointing” villain defeat. But I don’t think people exactly understand it. Po didn’t actually “give” Kai his chi. He used his chi as a weapon just like Kai did. Po had the chi of all the pandas and his own chi. Kai usually takes the masters’ bodies along with the chi, but he didn’t when Po gave his chi to Kai. That’s why it was too much. He took the chi of a whole village pandas and the Kung Fu Panda at a time without their physical forms. Instead of carrying around more chi amulets, he got loaded with the chi of all those pandas. It makes sense, people overthink it. Chi is like a sword if you think about it. Kai used chi as a weapon, but once it was put inside of him, it killed him. Also, at the beginning, Oogway told Kai "The more you take, the less you have." Then what happens? Kai dies from taking too much. A nice detail DreamWorks added in the final battle was that Po fought Kai with what happened to him in Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2. Also, Po was taught kung fu with food. Then he taught the village of pandas with their lifestyles. The whole "turn you into you" thing wasn't a callback to the beginning of the movie, it was a callback to the first Kung Fu Panda movie. Most people like Shen the most, but General Kai is the best villain in my opinion. He may not have been intimidating, but he had really great villain lines. When Shifu said "Oogway, forgive me." Kai held up the chi amulet of Oogway and said "What do you say, Oogway? Do you forgive him?" Also, his music was obviously the best villain music in existence. Not to mention his weapon, fight style, or entrances. Also, the first two villains were chased by Po and the Furious Five. But Kai was the only villain who did the chasing. Instead of Po hunting him down, Kai would find Po and the others no matter where they ran. Po even said “There’s nowhere to run.” This made Kai felt very unstoppable, which was just as good as being intimidating. Tai Lung and Lord Shen are both villains that people feel bad for, but Kai is just a really terrible person. They made Kai very unique. It was refreshing to see a super powerful villain that everyone wanted to see get destroyed. Most people know that Kung Fu Panda 1, 2, and 3 have the themes of body, mind, and spirit. But there’s more to it than that. In Kung Fu Panda, Tai Lung hurt hurt the characters’ bodies by beating them. In Kung Fu Panda 2, Lord Shen hurt hurt Po’s mind by killing his mother. In Kung Fu Panda 3, General Kai hurt hurt the characters’ spirits by defeating Oogway, enslaving most of the characters, and destroying the jade palace. I caught another detail that makes the movie more meaningful. Po is burdened with the responsibility of teaching kung fu and he feels like he’ll never be able to do it. In the first Kung Fu Panda, he was burdened with the responsibility of defeating Tai Lung. He was able to defeat Tai Lung first try, but he failed at teaching. So he feels like teaching is a new Tai Lung for him. That’s why he was playing with his Tai Lung action figure while he was upset. I don't even need to talk about comedy or animation in this movie. Nearly everyone already agrees that comedy, and animation in Kung Fu Panda 3 is better than in first two movies. The music in Kung Fu Panda 3 is easily the best. It has Kai’s theme, and the final battle music is so much better than the music from the other movies. Also, the action is amazing! The scene of Kai beating Tigress, Shifu, Monkey, and Viper had perfect fight choreography. A lot of people don’t like that the Furious Five didn't do much but I think I need to remind people that this movie is in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Not "The Furious Five" franchise. I was happy seeing the Furious Five get a lot of spotlight in Kung Fu Panda 2, the movie wouldn’t be half as great without that. But I am extremely happy that they didn’t do the same thing for Kung Fu Panda 3. Because in Kung Fu Panda, first Tigress, Monkey, Crane, Viper, and Mantis were defeated, then Shifu was defeated. In Kung Fu Panda 2 they fought alongside Po. In Kung Fu Panda 3, Po had to fight Shifu and all the other masters except Tigress. I don't get how people think this is the worst or second best in the franchise. I think it's better than Kung Fu Panda 1 and 2 combined.
theres a movie that came out about a year ago called "Klaus" and its the most beautiful christmas movie! i really think youll like it a lot (if you havent already seen it)

I saw this film in the cinema in what i suppose if we're being generous could be described as a second date with a guy which was already kind of awkward because we're just sitting in silence for 2 hours next to each other and don't know each other very well but then i was like damn I'm actually gonna sit here and cry at this film too

Because in the furious fives story po’s just a young kid that adores them and tigress was about 16 when she was looking for warriors for the jade palace.. which means po is the youngest of them. Also the owners said that their already planing a 4th, 5th, and 6th one!
