I FINALLY Gave In and Watched HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON
#howtotrainyourdragon #httyd #toothless
"Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile"
My favorite line. And it was ad-libbed
Also the tone he says it is so funny
I didn't know that! That's awesome
The delivery is everything here XD
Absolutely! So well delivered 😂
did you know that there is a vid that's about if dragons could talk? after hicup says "thank you for nothing you useless reptile" toothless says "thank you for nothing you useless human" XD
Fun fact: When Toothless appears for the first time he has one song, when Hiccup shows up, he has one song, when Hiccup rides Toothless both songs get mashed together
Same when Astrid rides with.
Wow I don’t notice this!!
Also when toothless stops for a split second before touching Hiccup hand first time was actually glitch in animation but it looked so naturally they left it on purpose.
We hear all themes that get used and mixed and mashed together in the beginning of the movie, that first sequence with the music! All except for Red Death's theme iirc.
@@BloodOcean666This is a myth and completely untrue.
I'm not sure if it's officially confirmed, but, while I too initially thought Hiccup lost his lower leg to the fire, it's actually that Toothless bit his leg in order to catch him and break his fall in time. It creates a parallel now that they are both handicapped and both by each other's hands which is both sad and kind of sweet
Oh dang! I never thought of this!!
Ew, did Toothless eat it? What happened to the bitten bits?
@@V_4_Versace might not have been an actually biting off but maybe just enough to require that they amputate it afterwards
i think it was confirmed in race to the edge when the defenders of the wing put hiccup on trial but its been a while since i watched the show so correct me if im wrong
@@pandagod1773 no, you're right
34:34, notice that Stoick says “I did this” in response to seeing the wounded Hiccup just like Hiccup said “I did this” when seeing Toothless wounded
I've seen this movie maybe a dozen times and never caught that parallel.
@@intelligentignorance Yeah, this movie is great.
Despite their shortcomings they both have serious accountability. Respect
the movie has so many parallels it’s crazy good
@@katchii93 It really is.
Fun fact: the scene where Hiccup holds his hand out to touch toothless, toothless hesitation is actually an animation error. But seeing how well it fit, they left it in
its also added into the 3rd film ;)
And it is so perfect. As someone who socializes feral cats/kittens, this is exactly how you do it. You let them choose to take that last step and initiate contact. ❤
Same for his open eyes after paning from his wing when Hiccup finds him bound the first time !
@@AetherCarvalhoStuff like this is so cool, and it just made the movie even better.
@@AetherCarvalho whoaah really???? I genuinely thought that was planned and intentional
I’m glad you noticed Stoico’s reaction after he said that Hiccup was not his son. It’s such a subtle scene that not many reactors pick on, the fact that he steps back as he’s leaving, almost as he was affected by the weight of his own words, you can see very clearly the pain on his face. Such an amazing job by the animation team!
And that half-beat is what makes his whole character redeemable. And boggles my mind that so many don't pick up on it.
@@NickGreydenUsually is because they are busy complaining about what he said instead of watching the movie
@@JoeldaSilvaVicenteFilho not just reactors, but people I've watched it with miss it
@@NickGreyden It's also realising in the second movie that Stoic thinks the mom was taken and killed by the dragons. If something kills your wife, it makes sense to have such a hatred for it that is not easily changed.
What Stoick said was one of the worst things he could have said to Hiccup. They take great pride in their heritage. Many Scandinavian surnames are along the lines of Anderson, or Ericson. Which, literally, means son of Ander or Eric. To say Hiccup was not his son was to deny him the right to claim his lineage. He would be the lowest status person in his village, and by their beliefs, when he dies and if he goes to Valhalla, he cannot sit at the table of his ancestors. It's really just about the worst curse. Plus it means that Stoick's bloodline ends with him, unless he has, or adopts another child. So it is, entirely, fitting for Stoick to be shook by what he said.
And yes, it is nice to see people recognize his reaction, instead of just lambasting him for it.
Edit. As an aside, the part where they convert Astrid with the flight is more impactful than it appears. If you think about the time, flying would have been inconceivable to them. The highest anyone, probably, ever got off the ground would be to climb a tree. To be high enough to touch and get lost in the clouds, and look DOWN on a mountain, would be a view of the world from the perspective of the Gods. It would have been a, literally, life changing experience for her.
"Gave in." HTTYD is a phenomenal trilogy. There is no "giving in" with Toothless. He is utterly adorable, and I want one. >.
@usanatv2007sentertainmentinc. Still? what do you mean still? Dragons were sadly never real unless you count the really dragon-looking reptiles that are called dragon something. I'd love it if dragons were real though, especially night furies.

It’s actually great that u mentioned the disability rep, so many children that grew up with these movies can relate to hiccup, whether they’re also amputees or have another disability it’s just really cool to see this in a children’s movie
I also love how the disability doesn't make Hiccup or Toothless any less capable, it just means they need mobility aids, and that's simply it: nothing else is different about them and the story isn't about being disabled. I've heard from a disabled person that movies need more disabled characters but where the disability is not the focus
“He’s a sarcastic little bastard I like him”
“Awwww! I want one!”
The most correct responses to Hiccup and Toothless. 😂
To be a little fair to Stoic, his fear for Hiccup was never that he wouldn't be a dragon killing warrior: it was that he would get himself or someone else killed trying to prove that he's something he isn't. If you listen to Stoic's conversation with Gobber, he says it pretty clearly: Hiccup doesn't know who he is or how to be it, Stoic doesn't know how to help him, and he's afraid he can't protect him. Does that excuse his behavior? Nope. But it does help one understand him better.
I 100% agree with you and to add another layer to that Stoic is the leader. It's his responsibility to look after his people no matter what and I get the hiccup is his son but would you put everyone in potential danger for one person or would you do your job of protecting your people.
Especially if you think about how traumatized by Vallah's death he iswhen developped in 2nd film
@@rosevalety3408Exactly, such a complex character, and I love it
Understanding both of those things, his fear and role as the chief, is so important to him saving Hiccup and Toothless and apologizing. If they presented it as just "My son isn't the warrior I want him to be because he's tiny" the apology would be... Not totally hollow, but much less impactful. Stoic acts out of a want to keep everyone safe, which is why he goes back to save Toothless; he understands that trusting his son and the dragon is the key to getting everyone out safely. I've seen a few first reactions to httyd, and it's kind of upsetting how often Stoic's character is misunderstood because of its more subtle reveal.
Sorry, I know I'm preaching to the choir, but Stoic really feels like a linchpin in the whole story to me.
You can’t blame stoic for thinking dragons are bad, they literally took his wife and thought they killed her
Toothless is a combo of all sorts of animals. They did that so all members of the audience would find something endearing about him depending on their personal pet tastes.
from what I recall mostly cat or dog depending on scene
@@craidiefini’ve also heard axolotl
@@moon-moth1 yea sure
@@moon-moth1 no. He's 100% dragon
@@moon-moth1source. The movie.
27:12 Not alot of people mention it but Stoic's stutter-step backwards as he immediately regretted what he said, as well as him telling Hiccup he was sorry, then proud BEFORE he took down the dragon.
Oh wow, never noticed that second part before. Such a good idea to have his dad tell him he's proud before the big end victory, that way you really know he's actually proud of who his son is, and not just excited his son killed the biggest dragon. This movie somehow just got even better to me
as well as stoic explicitly giving hiccup an out when saying "you dont have to go up there" showing that no matter what hiccup chooses stoic's sentiment wont change and i love that so muuuch, this movie is amazing!!
Also the fact that Toothless waits for Stoic to apologize before revealing that he saved Hiccup is often overlooked. Toothless knew Hiccup was okay the whole time, but when Stoic gets close, instead of uncovering Hiccup right then, he looks at Stoic, waits for the apology and THEN unfurls his wings to show everyone that Hiccup is safe. Like he was fully okay with letting Stoic think his son was dead if he didn't show how truly sorry he was to toothless himself, because saying it to Hiccup wasn't enough for him, he had to hear it too and it had to be sincere.
@@Noblewynter Yeah, that's such a nice little detail. Toothless is so awesome.
Some facts about this franchise in case your interested:
10:42 This "old woman" is Gothi, she is the oldest viking in the village and acts as the village's doctor when they are sick. I don't think I've ever heard her talk before throughout the series before either.
Toothless was based on a lot of animals but took a lot of inspiration from cats as you thought.
The dragons hate eels because they cause them to hallucinate once eaten and can't control their fire blast.
15:24 This grass is called Dragon Nip in their universe and is the equivalent to Cat Nip
On the original book Toothless was actually the size of the Terrible Terror (tiny dragon) but they changed it in the movie.
16:44 The amount of people that left is the same amount of people that returned, just less ships.
29:04 The strap that's across Toothless' head keeps his mouth closed enough to not allow him to shoot his fire.
The big dragon at the end of the movie is called the Red Death, she is evil. The Red Death makes the other dragons give her food and if they don't, she kills and eats them.
When Toothless dives from a high point and makes that whining-like noise, he is flying at the speed of sound. So when he fires one of his shots at this speed it also creates more force to the blast that caused the Red Death to end up falling over.
Sorry this was long.
So wait, you're telling me in the book Hiccup was riding a cat-sized dragon??
He didn't ride Toothless in the books
@@reaIixx whaaaaat? That's like 80% of the movie. No way
@alenunya The books are completely different from the movies, pretty much the only things that aren't totally different are the names and the idea of dragons and vikings.
@@reaIixx oh wow, so it's not based on the book, it's ~inspired~ by it?
32:10 I love how in this seen, because he's not wearing his helmet and his face is less obscured, you can actually see that Stoick and Hiccup share the same eyes which is just a wonderful visual metaphor of Stoick finally "looking at the world through his son's eyes."
the entire httyd trilogy is so good watch ALL OF IT PLEASE
And let's do at least Race To The Edge while he's at it!

@Rice_enjoyer999 Did you say something?
@@LilChupacabraBoiyeah like doesn’t it take place like 1000 years after the trilogy or something?
The picture that Toothless drew was of Hiccup, since Hiccup drew a picture of him! It’s not . . . the best, lmao, but if you tilt your head and squint you can see what’s meant to be his hair, eyes, nose, and mouth in the shape of an O.
So little people notice that detail and it's so precious! TToTT That's also why Hiccup says in the third movie "ahh now you can draw!" when Toothless makes a portrait of ⚠SPOILER⚠... the light fury
@@Ari_Mondragon Wait, I thought it was obvious that's what he was drawing? I mean, it makes sense. I also like him growling when Hiccup steps on the line... don't mess up his painting!
Cute little fact, Hiccup's voice actor has a black cat with green eyes named Bat :') (Toothless' wings are based off a bat's and he uses echolocation sometimes)
6 kids are those that survived into the teens. Life was brutal in viking age!
Well, maybe that, but I always just figured they were the only ones in that particular age group. It doesn’t look like a massive village, maybe a few hundred people. I figured the other kids were either a bit older and already passed their tests or younger and not ready yet, not that those were the only 6 kids, just the only 6 ready for training.
@@TinFoilHatConspiracy Ye that's pretty much confirmed in the tv series; pretty sure it shows that there's more kids in the village, they're just too young to start training yet.
@@howling_starr yep, there are a lot more kids in the series, like Gustav.
Hiccup is basically the Wright brothers in this movie. he had to invent and discover so many new things from scratch to learn to fly, and his blacksmith background sure helped
One detail I love is the way Toothless reveals Hiccup’s stil alive. Dragons are depicted laying and sleeping with their belly on their treasures, and only when he trust Stoic is that he reveals the treasure hidden in his belly: Hiccup, his best friend and brother
It's unusual that someone notices Stoic is in pain after his confrontation with Hiccup, like he can't quite believe what he just said, maybe regrets it, but as a leader he sets that feeling aside to focus on what he believes he needs to. Such a great character.
Not only one of the greatest animated trilogies of all time, but one of the greatest trilogies period.
Amen I have a black cat called toothless with green eyes and one called Hiccup thats all white
@YourSpaceMyFace I, too, have a year old kitty named Hiccup, except he's black with a white underside and orange eyes.
the only adaptation where i can accept the different plot from the books (they should adapt the books tho)
The third one had terrible writing, objectively. Especially the ending that came out of nowhere and made it seems like dragons were enslaved by them (even though they didn't treat them like pets but like equals). All that because they wanted to end it the same way as in the books, which actually treated dragons like slaves.
Just bad at all fronts.
@@mimic1984 Awww I love cats, great animals, lost 4 in last 18 moths so the Onyx (also black) Toothless and Hiccup are all new additions, gradually not all at same time. Like to have at least a few. Also have an Amazonian Red Lored Parrot that my wife rescued. Obv all my cats are rescues, I always adopt not shop.
I'm so glad you picked up on the black cat thing! They actually did model Toothless on a cat's mannerisms - it's why he has cat eyes. Also, I think you really have to understand what Viking culture was like back then. Weaklings did not traditionally survive. It's why he's so hard on Hiccup.
27:17 One subtle cinematography detail that I've always really enjoyed is that when Stoick closes the door behind him after saying that Hiccup isn't his son, the door bounces back open a crack, still letting some light through and symbolically showing that he hasn't totally given up on/stopped caring for Hiccup, which of course his expression also conveys, but the cinematography just adds a bit of extra oomph to the moment.
That scene at the end with the crippled dragon and the crippled boy walking out into the world they changed together is one of the most powerful scenes in cinema.
At the time of release, I took my two children to see this. McDonalds had httyd toys, and both of my kids went into the theater with Toothless figures. I had no idea what I was getting into. And your reaction was pretty much my reaction. Down to getting misty-eyed at the ending (although, I think I was an actual blubbering mess, and my youngest kid put her little hand on mine and told me "it's okay, mommy, they're okay" which didn't make me cry less...).
Aww that's so sweet ❤
Stoick's (Red's) character arc is one of my favorites, because he never goes full villain.
And they make it clear his apology and pride in Hiccup is NOT conditional on defeating the giant dragon first!
Actually, Toothless was trying to draw Hiccup like how Hiccup drew him.

30:47 yep dragons do have the intelligence level to be evil, or good in this universe. (They cannonically have their own language) like the vikings they are also stuck in their ways of killing humans and their instincts. Toothless forgetting those aspects is another reason why his domesticated friendship with Hiccup is so admirable.
Dragon facts:
Also, all dragons do have hidden gills that allow them to breathe underwater a bit longer than humans, which is why toothless was able to stay down there for so long.
While Cannabilism isn't common for most species, it does happen with mainly sea dragons, which are ussually the largest dragon species, as well as most pack dragons who ussually end up eating some of their siblings once they are born.
One thing you need to remember about all the dragons used during 'dragon training' is that they've all been captured and captive for a while and are extremely scared and will react like many predatory animals in that situation.
21:16, a lot of the characters in the books have names of that ilk. (Hiccup’s mother’s father is named Old Wrinkly.)

I’ve never seen this guy before but there is nothing that brings me more joy than watching someone be introduced to a movie series that I have been obsessed with and watched at least once a year since I was a child
I'm so addicted to watching people watch HTTYD for the first time and seeing people's faces as they fall in love with Toothless. And you're right, it is one of the best movies ever made, and the best part is the sequels don't drop in quality. It's a near-flawless trilogy of movies in my opinion.
Since you loved this movie, the show "Riders of Berk" is such a great watch. I know your mainly a movie reaction channel, but I highly recommend it for you. You'd get a deeper dive on the characters, dragons, and it occurs before the 2nd movie, which is also so good. The entire story around Hiccup & Toothless is awesome!
Defenders of Berk and Race to the Edge are amazing too!
Race to the edge is the one that's before the 2nd movie actually, serving as a bridge between the two movies and while not explicitly necessary to understand the 2nd movie, a very good watch nonetheless. Riders of Berk and defenders of Berk are also canon just like Race to the edge, but aren't technically as important unless you really care about watching the process and hardships of integrating the dragons into Berk and how the viking learn to share their home after being in conflict for so long. All three are amazing though.
@@Noblewynter they aren't technically important" dude, Heather just looks like a random self insert oc in rtte if you dont end up watching riders/defenders. It's also important for Dagurs introduction and motivations, and it's also important for Yohans inevitable uh, you know. (Not gonna put spoilers) We also have cannon comics set after the second movie leading into the third, with some others set before riders of berk
I just started rewatching riders of berk, the series are so great, but if feels like they completely ignored any character development in the third movie, especially with Ruffnut and Snotlout.
The funny thing about Hiccup's list of other jobs is that all of those could be done during the day and he would still be able to fight dragons at night.
"How to Train your Dragon" is probably my favorite animated film of all time... with "Cars" being a close second. The pacing is excellent, it has enough emotional parts to get a sniffle out of nearly anyone, character development is good, and the music is great... and of course, DRAGONS! 😍😍

3:06 "Befriend the dragons" and "No you don't want to be one of them." Bro just predicted the entire plot of the movie.
You're spot on about Toothless being like a cat. The writers for this film got inspiration from their pets for the dragon behavior. And I can tell you from experience that black cats are super affectionate, which is a real shame since they get such a bad reputation. I fostered one a few years ago and he was the snuggliest creature I've ever encountered but it didn't work out because my two other cats didn't get along. Then we got an orange cat, and she's super cuddly too. The halloween cats really deserve more love.
2:07 “look at that fucking…beast of a boy…”😭😭😂😂😂😂
Fun Fact about Toothless the reason why he acts like a cat because his design was based off of a BLACK PANTHER and one of the sounds he makes is that of a domestic cat and also makes the sounds of a horse, tiger, elphant, ect.
The design was based off a cat, not a black panther.
YOU MISSED TOOTHLESS FLYING ACROSS THE NIGHT SKY IN THE DREAMWORKS OPENING SEQUENCE! -sobbing and crying on the floor-

29:04 I'm pretty sure he can't open his mouth to breath fire, that's why he doesn't free himself. That leather band around his mouth keeps his mouth shut
What makes the "they're both amputees" thing better, is that they've both caused the others injury - yet have become the best of friends and support each other in their shortcomings. Hiccup shot down Toothless and damaged his tail, and Toothless grabbed Hiccup's leg to save him while he was falling, but damaged it beyond repair in the process (this is never explicitly stated or confirmed, but it's HIGLY implied)
I highly recommend the 2 TV series (not required for the other movies but highly recommend. It takes place in between the 1st and 2nd movie, and adds a lot of character development lol)

I'm not into 3D animated films usually, but this franchise caught my heart. Probably the only animated film I'd watch multiple times.
I love it when you expect someone to be bad or react bad but then they turn out actually good. When Astrid turned out good it was extremely satisfying to me. My personal opinion when I think about it is that she was just really annoyed that she couldn't figure out what Hiccup was doing and it confused her. Let's face it, Astrid is extremely competitive and if Hiccup hadn't changed his methods Astrid probably would have won and she probably knew that too. She's not much of a gloater or has any ego but compared to everyone else it's not that hard to put together that she probably would have won. To see that opportunity get taken away from her suddenly in a way she couldn't figure out probably is what got her so mad. Once she understood she was all good and completely supported Hiccup. It was the confusion that got her mad.
Your genuine excitment to this movies makes me want to rewatch the HTTYD Show for some reason :')

I am so happy that someone actually noticed the fact that the book said a dragon 'turns its victims INSIDE-OUT'. Like...I don't want to imagine how the one who found this out and put it into the book looked at dragons after seeing that. Its a very underrated and gruesome detail.
I wonder which one does that
@@Noone-d6u I believe it is the Boneknapper, but I could be wrong. I agree, I love how gruesome it is, imagine that in real life!
@@fantasydragon385 thanks
17:44 you really spoke through one of the best scenes in all of animated movies 😭
35:10 btw, Hiccup’s leg didn’t exactly get burned off lol… 👀
It’s never directly stated/confirmed, but it’s pretty heavily implied that Toothless was the one who damaged/bit off Hiccup’s leg. (And if you’re eagle eyed enough on the falling scene you’ll see how much sense this makes. Hiccup falls headfirst into the flames, so his lower body was least likely to be touched by fire. Furthermore you’ll see Toothless shotgunning for his legs, and in the very last moment you see his head seemingly specifically lock onto the leg Hiccup loses. So basically he grabbed him by that leg with his jaws and pulled him into his wings to protect him, but the terminal velocity they were falling at and general force the action required would have damaged/torn the leg). Thus mirroring Hiccup being the cause of his own amputation. Everything with these two is meant to parallel one another. And their shared disability also allows them to work more fluidly together as a team
As you can see, 14 years as a fan of this series has given me (and a lot of others) a lot of time to think about every tiny detail 😂
I thought that Hiccup said in the second movie that Toothless took it ?
"You just had to make it even bud?" Before pointing out his pegleg to his mom???
3:09, in the books, the dragons were beasts of burden rather than enemies of the Vikings (with some exceptions)
Now that you have watched the first movie you really should watch the other two. Also either before you watch the second movie or perhaps shortly after you might consider watching the series Dragons: Riders of Berk, followed by Defenders of Berk and finally Race to the Edge. Not only do they take place between the first and second Dragon movies and thus kinda show how Hiccup and the rest of Berk get from where they were at the end of the first film to what they were like at the start of the second, but they are among the best film-to-television adaptations out there if not the best animated series period. Even if you don't feel like you can react to it you should at least watch it on your own time, for yourself if nothing else as it's really truly great.
YEEESSSSSSS
The story has HEART!!! a lot of animated films fall flat. Because they have edited out everything important to character building. This one saved every moment that you noticed (get it Hollywood? We the audience NOTICE those moments). The film has HEART!!!
21:07 It's like naming Voldemort "Noseless" haha
How to Train Your Dragon is an amazing series. It's able to fill you with joy one moment and rip your heart out the next, and just... leave you saying "Thank you, would you please do that again?" It's a wild ride, but a very beautiful one!
Fun fact toothless was actually based on the animators/creators black cat :3
15:22 it's like catnip for them I assume and the stripped eels are basically like snakes and cats are terrified of snakes. Plus they also love chin scratches like cats so in conclusion they are cats in a scaly body :)
Totally love how Hiccup learned all about how dragons are and think and like and hate from Toothless, and how he looked like an absolute boss in training and all were just....'wtF.... Hiccup is doin this?..." beauty, hehehe.
So stoked to see Alex enjoy this movie as much as I do, seriously hope he does the whole trilogy cause the movies aged with the audience and it's one of the best movie trilogies ever made imo
6:24 Hiccup realistically should’ve immediately died there after Toothless slammed the back of his head against the rock.
21:20 😂😂😂😂 that's messed up 😭😭😂😂🤣
29:05 The reason Toothless didn't try to escape the restraints and burn down the ship was because Hiccup asked him not to hurt his father. Even though Stoick and the Vikings were ready to hurt, capture, and even kill him, Toothless trusted Hiccup enough to listen to his request not to hurt his community, even though he wasn't there.
Hiccup’s dad is a scarred character. It’s why he has a hard time relating to his son, even though he loves him so very much.
The scene where damaged toothless tries to escape the new tail is based off the lead animator tying a kleenex to his black cat’s tail and watching it react. Frame for frame the same
Toothless's ability to recognize human relationships and emotion is impressive. He only stops all the crazy ass flying when Astrid apologizes to Hiccup. He only reveals Hiccup is alive when Stoick apologizes to him. He ain't want Nobody fuckin wit his boy
You're totally right, for the scenes at the beginning with toothless's new tail, the animators based it off of taping something to one of their cats tails and seeing what it did
naw, what you’re thinking of specifically is reference footage they took for the christmas special they made where Toothless destroys his new tail
@@aniisammy lol I got um-actaullied about httyd toothless animator reference footage
@@lelandcuellar3097 i was trying to help??? damn bro
@@aniisammy no I'm not mad, I think it's funny. You're cool dude
@@lelandcuellar3097 ahh sorry! I’ve seen that joke taken in neg context too many times, my bad for getting defensive lol
28:19 She knows the answer, she's trying to get hiccup to say it and accept it!! God!! Alex, sometimes you kill me...
Shush
I mean true tho@@Vallaorvalka
10:53 fun fact: toothless’ movements were based on gabe hordos (the supervising animator)’s cat.
another fun fact: when toothless recalls a bit before moving into hiccup’s hand, that was a glitch that the filmmakers liked so much it was kept.
In the "The Downed Dragon" scene where Toothless is trapped and the camera pans across his wing to reveal his eye open, his eye being open was originally a glitch too and they decided to keep it that way
A great animated movie that doesn’t get enough praise for its quality for sure! One of my all time favorites… story, characters, writing👏👌
I freaking LOVE this franchise. It's everything.
Also, I don't say this often, but the next one in the series is, in my opinion, even better. But also emotional roller-coaster.
33:40 I believe the idea is that big dragon is not a real hive queen, but just forced all the other dragons to bring it food by threats of violence or some other oppression.
21:12 my Dad’s grandma lost her legs bc of diabetes complications, so the whole family called her “Grandma No Legs”
26:07
*sigh*
So... who's gonna tell him?
need the other movies. to this day How to Train Your Dragon has been the best movie series i have ever seen. i have gotten through a lot thanks to them and i am so glad that it still gets the attention because it seriously deserves all the love in the world
I am so glad you noticed Stoick staggering back after the "you're not my son" line.
It is such an important detail and perfectly informs his decisions in the third act when he comes around as well.
Alot of reactors don't seem to notice that moment so it was a relief to see you notice.
10:44 Wow, props to you, I never even knew the elder was watching from the beginning

👋
I was halfway into it yesterday and made some food. When i came back the movie was taken down.. 😭
So we back!
I should have learnt after the boys episode that got taken down but no lol
👋
HTTYD is definitely one of my most favorite trilogies. Also, as an owner of a black cat, I highly encourage you to get one if possible. I actually have two cats. The black one is a male named Midnight, and the other one is a gray striped cat named Laila. Midnight is older, and he's super chill and just wants you to pet him all the time. Laila is younger and is a total menace.
37:00 definitely the music
"Let him touch you! 👺" ABSOLUTELY KILLED ME.
As a long time fan of Scottish actor - Gerard ( Gerry) Butler, when I found out he was doing this animated movie, myself (and his fanbase) thought it was great! Of course I never heard of the kids books that was based on but the story sounded good. 😊 Loved the movie when it finally came out, GB was perfect as Stoick. At the time I thought it was a bit goofy that only a few of the Scandinavian village has a Scottish accent lol. But not like they were doing a documentary lol.
Vikings are typically Nordic/Scandinavian, and they did invade Scotland and etc. but left eventually. Shetland do pretty much consider themselves more Scandinavian than Scottish. Anyways, I watched a behind the scenes video yrs ago on the making of the movie and the Animation ppl and etc. made Toothless basically a mix of Cat / Dog. His general look was very Cat like, then some bit of his personality was Dog like. Anytime I see Toothless, he reminds me of a Black cat I once had, named Tabou. Same green eyes as the Dragon. ❤ FYI....Black cats/kittens are one of the last color types to get adopted. 😢 I love Black cats and have had a few. So IF your dog wouldn't harm one- Adopt a cute black kitten!😊
