My SECOND time in HYROX. HYROX London NOV 2022.

  • My second time in Hyrox in one year. I have participated in HYROX London earlier this April or May (don't quote me on the date).
    I have trained for the first one but got distracted towards the end because I was sick for 8 days (probably covid).
    You will find a time comparison between each exercise for both my races. To surprise you I have not trained for this race and my weight lifting has dropped a lot (1-3x a week) because I have started practicing JIU-JTSU and Mhuay Thai. I aim to do Jiu-Jitsu (3x a week) 'I will be competing soon' , Mhuay Thai (1x a week) ' you can watch my first fight after 8 weeks of training at: • MY FIRST EVER MUAY THA... ' , and Weight Lifting (1-3x a week).
    What I found from doing this is my Endurance, Explosiveness, Athleticism have all improved. I have also found that I can maintain a relatively lean physique, although not sticking to a strict diet. Note to mention, is that I do not drink alcohol (at all, since I quit 6-7 months ago), 'try' to avoid eating out, and ensuring to have 'enough' protein, CARBS, and lower my fat (although I often find myself eating a tub of peanut butter).
    Although I was full of confidence going in to this race that, at least I will match my previous result, which was 01hr:45mins I have finished the overall race in 01hr:42mins and more noticeably I have improved on nearly all exercises. For reference the average finishing time (globally) is 1hr:32min.
    The 1 exercise that I have noticeably worsen at is the sledge push, which is pushing a 125kg 4 times a 12.5m straight line. Which can be reason for my current routine. Upon watching the footage again, I noticed that my mechanics were all wrong. As I am pushing the sledge too low, not maximising my power. As more distance from the weight the more moment generated.
