Life can sure be beautiful at times…and then there’s the kinks. 😣 I’ve had a few of ‘em in my lifetime too. Here’s a little something that I’ve done to help me through and to help me let go of that hurt and move on! I was with a girlfriend the other night. We had a few glasses of wine over a beautiful fire pit. Listening to our most favorite songs on TH-cam. We are both broken hearted over divorce. It got dark along with the fire and we ended up singing very loudly into the fire and star lit night sky along with powerful female artist songs and i gotta say, I have felt like i shed a layer that night. I also believe it strengthend our bond as friends. We will always have that powerful memory together as two women trying to mend our broken hearts. Maybe we had four glasses of wine each 😂

My beautiful first-born daughter stopped talking to me 2.5 years ago over politics, of all things. The only way through this kind of trauma for me was to admit and express all the feelings-shame, anger, betrayal, resentment, depression... and to be compassionate toward her, and myself, and to forgive her, and more importantly, myself. Because as mothers we tend to blame ourselves for everything. But forgiveness is absolutely the key to releasing the anger Momma talks about, and writing and burning a letter as she suggests is an excellent way to start.

    • @trippiitoad
      @trippiitoad 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

As the daughter who stopped talking to her mom, I think you're lying to yourself about why she went no contact. No child just abandons their caregiver so easily and quickly. I implore you, for your sake and hers, to dig further down into why this happened because my mom says almost this same exact thing about me and she is intentionally misunderstanding me so that she doesn't have to have accountability for herself. She can chalk it up to something ridiculous that makes me sound like I went off for no reason... but it's not the case.

I agree, however i have seen cases where the kids are so politically brainwashed, they do not associate with anyone slightly politically different, including family

I'm sorry that happened to you! I hope your daughter finds a way back to you.
My mum and I had some issues over politics a couple of years ago. She liked Trump, I didn't. I have some trans and non-binary friends and she would go back and forth on whether she was willing to use their pronouns.... I took it very very personally. Sometimes I ended up crying like she was hurting me directly. I decided her intentions were coming from a hateful place, and was very disappointed. My hurt made it difficult to listen to her with an open mind.
It's difficult when you feel like someone you love is disappointing you, but eventually I realised I'd rather have my mum (who loves me very much) in my life. I'm not perfect either. And over time we've both been more willing to listen to each others points. She tries her best with the pronouns because it matters to me, but when she slips up I let it go. I accept that she believes what she believes.
I hope something similar happens with you! It's hard to be open minded with media telling us there's only one correct opinion to have.

I think a big issue with men (as I am a man) is that we don't listen to women. No, not just our wives, but all of them. Not just their opinions, but struggles and feelings. We have gotten so used to any relation between man and woman deeper than waving hello as being sexual that there is a huge break between sexes. Listening to your mom or sister(s) asking them how they really are doing and really listening, and doing the same for female friends. One of my favorite shows I've watched is "My Brilliant Friend" and it opened my whole world up to feminine feelings and thoughts the characters had that seemed totally alien to me. Understanding in a wholesome loving way of how people work, think, and trust is so valuable

Thats a bit biological, men are more analytical, women are more emotional. Women have more of a metaphorical lyrical style, men are more go go go solutions.

Such sage advice that works. And can we talk about how beautiful your Montana background is!?! Whow the sun coming up birds flying by just beautiful. I think another important subject is having a support network. There’s a lot of us single gals, and men that we have no support network, and that really stinks as we’re not married don’t have a partner who works full-time who have no social life this is really an issue. Kids grown parents gone. Etc.

I think the Biggest mistake people make. Is to think that something's happening (to) them.If they changed that to (for) them, They'd be doing a lot better.Write a deal breaker list of things you absolutely will not tolorate.Things you learned and realized from whatever happened (for) you. This is exactly why less and less are getting Married. They don't write that list, and then they pick the same kind of person again. We are in the age of the Narcissist. It's time for people to find balance, and make a plan.

I just noticed you had your own podcast, congrats, and wish you much success! The first podcast I watched, was 5 things you wish you knew about your husband. First, what a lucky man, and how lucky you are, to have the courage to realize how much Dwayne loves and desires you as his wife and partner no matter what, and time of day and night. And how you also realize that, and how much I wish my ex wife, and past girlfriends and lovers would have taken that approach, because it has caused me much deep pain, for 43 years, that I've not dealt with, not to avoid it, but just being a dad, and trucker, and an old school man. Getting up, putting your boots on no matter how I felt, because that's how I was raised to believe, that's what men did. Here I am, finding your podcast, and finding myself in deep thought of wishing what was, or how to get there. Thank you, Michael

I'm sure you probably don't remember me among all the faces you've met, but I can't tell you how much I needed this. Just as you said in the beginning of your video, sometimes somebody hurts you and you just didn't expect it. That's what I'm facing right now and I've been struggling so hard to overcome that, but I haven't been sure what to do. Your video has been an answer to prayer, sort of a sigh of relief for finding some direction. I doubt I'm the first to say something like this, so maybe I'm just repeating what someone else has already said, but I still wanted to give you my thanks for sharing this bit of God given wisdom.
As a side note, I absolutely love JJ Heller and have found her music very healing in past seasons of my life. Time to get into it again!

I hope you continue to find healing and you give yourself grace in it, and that you are able to deliver grace as well. ❤️‍🩹💖

That really works out and like you say, forgiveness gives yourself peace, not the opposite. When you are upset or disappointed about others you give them force other you. Easy said, use this energy to bring up yourself and make your own progress. That's basically the trick, but for survive the fresh energy impact from really. Negative circumstances write it down like momma said.
Even with doing that, some things will need years, like she said.

I wish that I had an aunt and uncle like Dewayne and Momma. I know you guys get that sentiment a lot but it's real and true. There are so many families today that really are not trying and putting in the effort like you guys are. Many people fall into playing the victim, and that is what I got used to growing up. But you guys and your family are actually maturing into respectful people. So when people say like how I feel that you are providing advice and encouragement when we never had any, that is the truth. I want you to know that. It's not to idolize you or to embarrass you. It's from the heart that I really feel that you're being authentic and you take on the challenges of life with grit and grace, and that way of being is rare. It is encouraging to me to see you and your husband live and act the way you do. I cannot say that I would like to emulate anyone in my family because they haven't matured. That is a fact. There hasn't been words of encouragement from them, or any positive outlook or way of life coming from them. That is a fact. They are addicted to this or that and are a negative influence to be around. I'm not saying that to put them down. It's just that you guys really have been able to teach me things that I never have learned from my family like how to grow up and be responsible.

P.S.I have not heard JJ Heller . I will look Her up . 🎶Music does bring healing to me . Julie True’s soaking music is great as well. Just a suggestion.

I guess she wanted in on the camera as well. ROFLMFAO!!!
You definitely speak the truth. My father killed me when I was a child. He dropped kicked me in the back of the head with steel toe boots on. My eyes rolled in the back of my head and I died. I was dead for almost a minute. I guess God wasn't ready for me. I was so mad at the world through out my teens and early 20s. It was destroying me. I had to let it go or I wouldn't be here today. I've seen people go through worse then me and they were good people and I wanted to be like that. You have to learn not to let people rent space in your head. That's your space. You and Dwayne are great people and are helping young people and old to see past alot of this social media and other BS that's out there. Thank you.

Sister your story is heartbreaking. My mother's treatment of me growing up is similar and it stays with you for your whole life but I have found girlfriends, good girlfriends have been a huge part of my journey to healing, Singing powerful female artist songs into a fire pit into the night skies! Do it!

Have you ever considered doing a cigar video of your own? I'm sure the female audience would enjoy that too
