Practical AND Feminine

  • Just because we work on the ranch doesn’t mean we have to dress like a man! I’m a lady! I work hard, and I want to be comfortable but I also want to LOOK like a gal, not a guy! 💃🏻
Hopefully this is just the first video of many where we talk about clothing… the practical but pretty sides of it!
Please comment about what you like to wear and what works for you! If you know of a company that sells affordable, practical, and pretty clothing, share them so we can all enjoy our clothes! 👗👖👢

I’m a construction girl and I end up wearing men’s clothing because it’s more practical and available. Your so right about the pockets!! I bought a heavy duty sewing machine & I’ve been altering everything to make it more feminine but it’s still for men. I find myself just getting work shirts from thrift shops cause I cannot find affordable durable women’s clothing even in industrial clothing stores. Brand name are way over priced as far as I’m concerned. I hope to adjust for some time to make my own custom work clothes. It’s been a long time since I created a piece from scratch. You just inspired me to do something about it. Great topic

Love this! I always thought I had to prove how tough and manly I could be to gain respect from the guys. Thanks for letting me know. I tend to think that way. I didn't know guys felt that way. I think they want a strong woman who can go handle things (like butchering an animal) but also get dressed up and go out or be pretty on Sunday. Is this true? Do they want a strong, capable woman who can be pretty too??

    • @jack-o_lantern
      @jack-o_lantern ปีที่แล้ว +9

@@codfishjoe9232 what a traditional man wants most, is a woman who can balance out the traits that he lacks; traditional feminine traits. A traditional man is family driven, so he will want a woman who is also family driven. If a man is attracted to a woman physically, spiritually, and he can see her thriving as a mom, he will likely ask for her hand in marriage. Everything else beyond that , is gravy. I’m only speaking from my perspective as a traditionally masculine man who decided to marry my wife at 19 years old. To each their own. We are joyfully married with 3 kids. I own a construction company and put money in the bank, and my wife keeps the children fed physically, mentally, and spiritually. Young marriages can work out just fine if two people are of the same mindset. God bless

Cinching the waist on anything is what I live by, all my coats have belts because I’m 5’10 with broad shoulders and if my hair is hidden I know I could be mistaken as one of the lads! I never considered a hat could be feminine but yours is beautiful, I’m definitely going to have to look out for one of those. Thank you so much for this advice, being practical usually overrides being feminine because it’s such a faff to compromise but this is fantastic advice! Hi Deanna I found your channel! I saw your first few videos . They just appeared on UTube. I loved hearing your Heart , I kept thinking about what you shared about your marriage. I had never heard of the term , “ Sigma”. When I looked it up , it had a picture of all things , a Horse . Relating the characteristics to the behavior of the hierarchy with Horses . After your sharing this , my Husband told me that this is Me 💁🏻‍♀️ I am a loner . I do really well with just Me and JESUS. So I pray the Lord give me people I can help . Anyway, I am excited about you reaching out to us . I love your clothes . You look pretty amazing. Thank you DeAnna you are Precious. Your advice for understanding Men , was spot on . Love Languages ❤ so important to know those. I was wondering if you can share your experiences with Horses? What do you enjoy about them ? Do you still have Rodeo? Whatever you share will be great 😇 Laura 💜 Bear 💜 Willow 💜 p.s. I have been fallowing Dry Creek Wrangler for over a year now . I drink my morning coffee out those wonderful Mugs you sent ! Back in the 80’s I used to see men’s cowboy shirts using calico print. They looked great. I would buy womens shirts out of calico material. Include styles for big hip and butted women! We like to look feminine but I have a hard time finding shirts that fit up top, thinner waist but have to flare out for my hips. That’s why I like the hippie style shirts from 60/70’s, but would enjoy a more fitted look.

My mom was 4’10 and prob 110lbs soaking wet. We always had horses, and she could be as mean as a badger if she needed to, but never acted tough.
I recall more than once the horses biting her hair because she wore some hairspray that smelt like strawberries, and can still hear her voice “QUIT THAT” 😂

I've worked on a farm my entire life and I agree with you completely!!! As a working woman it is near impossible to find good women's work wear. I've been saying the same thing for years, that I need to start a women's work wear line😂. My other challenge is I'm a small woman too, small enough to shop in the kids section, so most women's work wear doesn't come in small enough sizes. There's definitely a niche market that needs to be filled for truly hardworking women on ranches and farms that are outside 365 days a year in all weather conditions.
You mentioned if we've found any good work wear to let you know, I've had good luck with Double H work boots. It took me years to find a good work boot that held up like a men's, but could still be cleaned off and worn to go in town and look feminine.
I hope that gives you another work boot option to check out and I hope you get the time to start your own work wear cause there's women out there that are tired of looking everywhere everytime we need work wear.

Lip gloss pocket, twine to throw away later pocket, work gloves pocket, stray eggs from chickens pocket (reminds myself this is always a bad idea), horse comb and mane rubber bands pocket, snacks pocket, wire snips/knife pocket, cellphone pocket, kleenex pocket, pen/scrap paper pocket for add on to list to remember to get at Tractor supply later, and band aid pocket for blisters! .... Again, sort of joking but not😛 ... Anyhow, happy to help! Oh and one more pocket for the pretty hair ties that seem to collect and be needed on hot and windy days😉

When I get feminine, I get accused of dressing up for men.

Even on my jeans. Sometimes the back pockets or on the sides of my panties with a few little diamond toppers glues on with a glue-gun. I've gotten compliments from both men and women and have had women ask me if I could fix up a bit of their clothing too. Absolutely! I say. Duluth makes the best women's work overalls I've found so far. They're comfy, fitted in the shins, shaped appropriately for women, have a wealth of pockets, are just a tiny bit stretchy, and have the all-important crotch gusset that makes gardening and chicken-chasing considerably less of a chore. They're by far my favorite item of clothing now, and I'm dreading the day that Duluth discontinues them.

Carhartt or Dickies are really solid work brands . Also pro club and Shaka are comfortable and reliable
I’ve used all of these brands for construction and they held up 👌

Good video, it's sometimes challenging for us outdoor gals to still maintain being/looking feminine

I used to work in construction and I hated how wearing the men's stuff made me feel like a man so I always still painted my short nails and did a little makeup lol would braid my hair pretty so it was out of the way but still not just smashed into my hats.

I would like to know where to get the silk scarf. Looked so nice and I always need to keep my neck and face warm since we live in NW PA

Love the brand on belt/chaps. Always looking for good boots. Thanks for sharing. I’m going to try some Deluth items. Have you tried them?

I have and they make good stuff but it’s so expensive! I know we pay for quality but sometimes it’s not possible 🙇🏻‍♀️

Love your hat and blouse, do you ever wear long skirts with cowboy boots?

I personally do not but it’s very pretty…I can’t imagine how hard it would be to wear a skirt and do the work that we do now. Many years ago women wore skirts and did all the chores and gardening and even rode horses in them…impressive!
