DD: Step 1 - remove the nut off of the post that keeps the "kaleidoscope" (the round multi color disc) in place & lift off the disc. Step 2 - remove the 2 screws that are holding the circular metal frame (which is keeping the bulb in it's place) & lift off. Step 3 - gently pull the halogen bulb up (it's held in by 2 prongs) - go to hardware store and get replacement bulb. Step 4 - gently replace new halogen bulb aligning the two prongs, replace circular frame holding bulb in place (the 2 screws), and finally replace kaleidoscope back on it's spindle, put nut back on and gently tighten . . done. Enjoy !!
Take the Scarecrow bottom to a local hardware store. Not a Home Depot or Lowe’s- a local store. They typically have people who will actually help you and replace the bulb for you. It’s my go-to for things I don’t know how to fix.

Don’t remove the color wheel like some have instructed. Simply pull the light bulb upward. There are 2 short pins on the bottom of the bulb that hold it in. That’s it.

This is actually a simple bulb replacement. It's an MR-16 track light on a two prong "snap-in". Just remove it and go to a lighting store, they have stock generally in all track lights.

I recommend the book Back from Tuichi :by Yossi Ghinsberg. Used bookstores is where to find it, Half Price Bookstore too. It's about Yossi lost in the Amazon rainforest and everyone I lent it to read it in one day because they couldn't put it down. My teacher would read the Chronicles of Narnia to us before class started and I loved the one where they enter different places coming out of ponds. My imagination became to lost in the story that when I saw the books cover, I was so disappointed that it was not vibrant like my imagination. I also went to a Narnia exhibit at that the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land that use to be a prison workshop building.
Not so complicated the bulb is inserted with prongs, they are sold at Amazon or HD. The wattage should be printed on the bulb somewhere. Take a pic of it in so you can replace exactly.
If it were me, I would take the brains of Mr. scarecrow to a store that repairs lamps. They’re likely to have an electrician around who would know exactly what to do and it would be worse the expense to get it done correctly and safely, but that’s just me that’s how I roll.
