This car reminds me of that xmas movie with "Your gonna shoot your eye out " Red rider . It used to be a real chore getting old cars running and keep ancient furnaces going .Life was more of an adventure then . We have gone forward ,and backwards. people used to be more resilient . Thankfully my dad taught all 3 sons how to work on everything . Great guy Omaha beach survivor .
I grew up in the 1940s &50s; I also learned the different "sounds" of each make. Cars in those days each had a unique sound when starting----it would be nearly impossible to mistake a Pontiac from a Ford, Oldsmobile, Hudson, Packard, etc.! If I were blind I could not tell you the difference in car makes by listening only to the "starting" of the engine. No "uniqueness" today!
I just purchase a 1948 Pontiac silver streak two door straight 6 with manual three on the tree. Cannot believe everything is original including the radio and exterior metal visor There is a little surface however the entire panel on the vehicle is solid. I wish I could show you the pictures of the car I purchase I'm looking for the Indian hood ornament
