Not many 1948s available. For instance Mom and Dad wanted a new Plymouth in 1949. Went to the local dealer and he had two, a coupe and a four door. Didn’t know when he’d get more. They bought the sedan and gave their 1936 Olds to grandma.
Ohh Yeah, Very Few Coupes Produced.
I was just watching this on my IPAD, and I would like to say what a nice Pontiac. I like the two- tone combination( the blue and white). I was fascinated that this car has a foot starter above the accelerator petal, considering it’s a hydra matic vehicle. I’m always thinking the three speed manual vehicles use them. First time I saw a foot starter in a hydra matic. But again, a very nice car.
Thanks Fred, it is such a Cool Car, Very Art Deco :-)
Great car. Too bad it didn't have plates, I would have loved to see it on the road.
The Car Is Immaculate. And The Redone Gray Velour Interior I Could LIVE In. Fast Back Models Were Popular Back In The Late 40's With A Few GM Car Makers, But It Didn't Last Very Long. That Flat Straight-8 Engine Under That LONG Hood Put Out 107 HP To Push All That Heavy Steel Around. But That's All That Was Needed When People Actually DROVE The Speed Limits On Unimproved Roads Back Then. A Car Show Winner And Very Nice Preservation Indeed...
Has the 248cid, straight eight! Buick Special, had the same size engine 😳but w/ overhead valve! This would be the first year w/ a automatic 😬
Very Cool, Back when Cars were Art Work!!
Actually, that is a four speed Hydramatic!
