    I like videos from people that are plain spoken! All these musical introductions and CGI just gets on my nerves and I skip past it. You doing a good job!

    My family had one we used on a boat. Upper lid is turn up high for heating and down low for cooking if I remember right. Did a great job of heating a 28 foot cruiser on spring and fall nights. This was back in the late sixties.

      Wow thank you Charles, I appreciate the comment and info , It really does a good job once it has saturated with heat , then it really gets with it , especially in a fairly enclosed area, yes I can see it heating a boat very very well .

      Ive been considering this for a smaller boat I have. How are alcohol when it comes to moisture which is a problem with propane?

    • @doinsngoins
      @doinsngoins  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an alcohol burning stove a d it would be ok fow an open bow boat, it take a while to warm up but puts off good heat after . Nothing to me beats the little buddy propane heater for my boat , but its not as cool of fun. I Believe this was designed to be a tent heater , a large tent ⛺️.

    I picked up one on eBay. It's a wonderful item to have. Certainly worth the money.

    I just bought one of these, but I can't figure out how to release the clips at the bottom of the outer container to release the fuel tank (I want to inspect it.)

    Poor from the top of the can, and it won't spill. It looks awkward, but it works great.

    fyi, gloy's was a german company very similar to the canadian coghlan's company that marketed outdoor gadgets and products for campers and fisherman and other outdoor enthusiasts, gloy's didn't make the heat pal they just sold them and marketed them around the world.

    Hello. Will it burn any alcohol other than denatured?

    • @doinsngoins
      @doinsngoins  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure any , I first lit it with namtha also but it did not burn nearly as hot .

    Those two wire bars are OEM; they came from the factory. You use them to suspend a cooking pot over the flame. I own 6 of the 5000 model, which was just a larger version with a higher capacity fuel canister/wick.
