What happened was the condensation from the one pound tank left on there leaked while you had it in the box, that's the corrosion underneath. That condensation is actually a layer of propane, it ignited and the flames were from that. Never leave empty cannisters like that connected. Very good video, thank you.
That could be possible, however it was an empty tank to begin with, I felt like it might leak out the other side, so when I put the 20 pound tank connected with the filter, I put an empty bottle on the other side so it wouldn't leak, however, that is not to say there wasn't some residual stuff because it di dust on that side. I will do a better job this year with the new one I replaced it with for storage this year. Yes I so agree, I could have done better. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. Again, thank you, I think you may well be correct on what caused the blow up, there was definitely a lot of residual and or a leak. Thank you and I Hope you have a blessed week.

@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors The empty tank you put on, is a sweat collector, it would constantly build up moisture over time inside the metal cylinder, due to being warm, then cold then warm etc. When you then stored it, the moisture has a path to all the gas tubes during storage, because the bottle is screwed into the full on/open position. So that moisture then leached out & rusted everything, is what I think, especially having been well stored back in the foam & plastic bag, inside a box, that moisture had no where to go. If you feel better having the second bottle on there, when you run the 20 pounder, leave a full one on there, & store it with nothing connected. Glad I saw your story, take care.
PS: Being a sealed gas line, the built up sweat in the empty bottle would/will never be able to get out of those sealed gas lines, until it rots them, regardless of your great storage efforts.
I would also store my heater in an air conditioned and heated place, not an attic.
@paradislarry if I connect a 20 lb ta k to one side and a full tank to the other will it still draw gas out of the 1lb tank?
Mr buddy sells specific hose for the 20lb tank that is oil free
But, always, disconnect all bottles and hoses prior to storing it. Never store these heaters with bottles attached. Good lesson learned and shared. Thanks.
Thank you, yes sir, I have never had an issue like this one and wanted to share it folks, the colder it gets, the more folks will be using them.
Thank you and have a blessed weekend.

Where is the hose sold? I have some from amazon that are recommended for these heaters. I have 3. I think it is time to replace them. I may return them, the should last longer than 2 yrs stored in my garage which is temp controlled.
Great hose that’s the one I got
Same here, never used the little bottles. And I always disconnected the factory hose for the 20 lb lpgs.
I used their oil free hose. It still had some oil residue that migrated through the filter and needed to be cleaned up after the 1st couple of 20lb cylinders. Thing caught on fire last week after 5 years use.
Being a former volunteer firefighter, ive learned to make sure that i do my first light up of my buddy heater, that i do it outside away from everything. Accidents happen and im very happy that nothing serious happened to you! Quick thinking on your part! Keep up the great videos bud!
Yes sir, I guess I got complacent, thinking they would just always work. I do agree, it should be done outside, just in case. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week my friend.

Good video. Two things I have gleaned from your video, one remove the 1 lb cylinder when storing. Secondly, check out the equipment in a safe location. Thanks for sharing. I also live behind the Pine Curtain where the humidity is high.
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend. Those where the two points I tried to stress and I am glad you enjoyed this video. Thank you so very much and I hope you have a blessed weekend.
Dale.
Very helpful video. I’m wanting to buy one of these heaters to use indoors for emergency power outages and received lots of helpful advice. I like the comment to try starting it outside to test it before bringing it in, and if it runs weird like you said, don’t ignore that! I will store it in the house and not the humid basement. I’ll make sure to have a fire extinguisher at the ready. These are very nice heaters, but you have to realize there is always a small amount of risk. I used a small kerosene heater for years without burning down my house, being careful to fill it outside and never leaving it unattended.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. It truly helps our tiny channel out. So thank you and I am thankful you found some of this useful. Thank you and I hope you have a blessed week.

Hello Dale, I am from Ohio, I camp quite a bit throughout the year, and I just watched your video. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate coming across this extremely important information! I am currently in the process of researching portable propane heaters and am very interested in purchasing this particular Buddy heater. Because of your thoughtfulness to post your experience, I learned so much from you and your other viewers comments. I feel more confident now to purchase and use this product as a result. Thank you so much and God bless you!
Thank you so very much for taking the time to watch and comment. I replaced the bad one with a new one and had a great two week camping in the cold trip. I also used it all winter in my shop. This year. I will check that one out good. I am sure my previous one was a fluke. Who knows. Thanks again my friend and I hope you have a blessed week.
Dale.
Keep us posted on your adventures.
I'm at 8000' in the Rockies and have the same heater here as a backup to my wood stove on sub zero nights on a 100 pound bottle. In 10 years with the same heater I've yet to have any issue other than a ceramic panel.
That is fantastic news my friend. I can also say from my parents owning a cabin around the same elevation near Salina many years back before my mom passed, that is was much drier there and I can see the lower humidity helping in keeping it running better this humidity here is something I am still learning to deal with. Thank you for sharing this with us and I think I mentioned, even the less humidity in Oklahoma, I have never had an issue like this for me either. Thank you and I Hope you have a blessed weekend.

This is the kind of service I got at plus 6500 ft in the Bush of Alaska Mantanuska range. Now they're failing left n wright down here in the USA NW mountains. Just barely above 3000' snowline. I think their quality has gone to shit. Just opened two new boxes of Buddies to prep for the coming winter. Won't light and continue to burn. Tested with fresh one pounder. I"m pissed. Dandahermit
Enjoyed your thought processes explaining why there was a failure. Thank you for all the explanations.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend.
Dale.
Disconnect all hose and tank. Make sure there is no gas left in the heater.
this was a good video. I just bought a little buddy heater, and it's important to see what things can go wrong. Thank you for being a voice of experience. Glad you didn't have any burns on your hands.
Thank you for the kind words my friend. I ordered a new one to replace this one and it is working nicely. I have found that the quick connection hose with the built in regulator seams to keep the flame in the ceramic area better than the hose with the filter on it. I think that may help with the longevity of it as well. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment and I hope this video helps, when you get ready to store it and not have problems with your new one like I did this past season. Thank you and have a blessed weekend.

@@EllaKlein-e8h Dale, you will never know how many people you saved and how many homes you saved if it weren't for your video! Well done my friend! God bless.
Moral of story, never leave cannister tank in mr heater unused ! Take small tank off between uses.
Agreed, well said, that you for taking the time to watch and comment as well.
Dale
Remove propane tanks everytime when you shut it off?
@@flowergarden1426 that's not really necessary. i think the consensus is that you shouldn't store the heater with any source of propane attached. if you live in a humid environment, dale's suggestion on using dessicant packs to minimize the moisture where it's stored is a great idea.
I've had mine for years, and haven't had a problem with the 1 pound tanks being left on.
If you read the instructions that come with the heater it says , remove the cylinders when not in use .
Thanks for the tip about putting a silicone packet or two in the box when storing it. Great idea!! Going to put some in the box where I store mine right now.
I think I saw a video that said you can take those silicone packets and put them in the oven on 250° for about 30 minutes to get the moisture out of occasionally.
@@paulpugh2480 Thanks! another great idea. I’ll try it
Thank you my friend. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and know it is appreciated. Thank you and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

I'm going on year 2 with my buddy heater. So far, so good. Zero maintenance. Thanks for the heads up.
Yes sir, back in OKLAHOMA, we didnt have the humidity there like we do here, I had some that were 4-5 years old with basic cleaning and manintanence they lasted quite a while. I think it may be the humidity here, but I also wanted to share this with anyone, let them check theirs prior to going camping etc. Thanks for taking the time to watch and share. your experience with us and I hope you have a blessed weekend.
Dale
10 years here with zero maintenance!
I've had mine for 7 or 8 years. Just used it last week during a power outage and 30 degrees outside. Store it in hallway closet and never had a problem out of it. I did bypass the tip over switch so I could strap it down in my mule and keep the cab warm " the shaking from hitting bumps kept triggering the tip over switch"
Good tip on the silica bags. I store them in their original plastic bags, not in the box, inside the house where temp is controlled and not in a shed. They always work for me and show zero rusting.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you you have a blessed week. Thanks again and know your kindness is appreciated.

FYI - Regarding the filters for extension hoses to hook up a 20# tank...The part numbers below are for Mr Heater hoses that will work with your heater. Notice that 2 of them do not require a filter (the hose is made of a special material). The others do require a filter. All hoses from other manufacturers will require a filter.

Wow - thank you for your very important information!
Who knew that some of the hoses work well, because they are made of a special material, which I assume does not promote deteriorating of the interaction with the gas/ hose moisture!
I think I heard you say you stored it away in the Attic where the humidity would be different than if it were inside the house . And as a side note those little silicone packets would be a good idea and it's a good idea to put them in the oven on 250 for about 30 minutes to get the moisture out of them .
Yes I did say attack, I think what I am calling an attack is not really a true name, it is in my shop and I have some upper storrage and a better way to describe would be a small loft area that is still part of the building and it is somewhat maintained year around with heat and air. I have not thought about the oven to dry t hem out. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and share the with us as well. Thank you so much for the tip and I hope you have a blessed week.

I have the little Buddy heater that sits on a one pound bottle that I used for keeping the ice fishing shack warm. I went to fire it up so I could take it out and use it in the new deer blind. Tried 3 different bottle ( 2 brand new ) and the thing will not light. Might need to get a new bigger Buddy heater. Will definitely keep this info in mind. Thanks for the info and have a great week !
Yes sir, I have an old Coleman heater that is probably 30 years old, it has a big round face on it, and it still works. my buddy heaters are almost like the 20 plug in heaters you get at Walmart, they just dont seam to last too many seasons anymore, . I've had dirt dobbers fill the volute of one of mine. I've had to change igniters before, too.
I'm not attentive to PM, so I've had 5 of so, in 6 or 7 years.
Disconnect your lines and clean the oil out of them blow them with or compressor then reconnect should fix problem
I got two of them. I just went to use them this year for the first time just to warm the house up a little bit and they didn’t work came across your video and I tried it worked perfectly. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. The kind words are truly appreciated. I hope you have a blessed weekend. Stay warm and enjoy my friend.
Dale.
What did you try? The qtip?
Thanks for the heads-up and great video! I've been a long time user of buddy heaters and have learned the hard way a filter is well worth the cost and/or trouble, destroyed a couple little buddy's using hoses and the 20lb tank before this became apparent. Also, starting about -10F it can get too cold for these to operate (I'm not sure if the propane freezes in the thin metal lines or what but...) this can be very important to know. I found that turning off the propane and letting it run out of fuel to shut it off made it possible to restart it in very cold conditions, but it took a while to pilot-light it and and it burned very low at first. And a very thin layer of gun oil can go a long way in preventing rust/corrosion. Thanks again for sharing your experience. :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, it is great to know what has worked for you as well.
Nice to know info. My sister has a small one for her tent. We live in northern California next to the Klamath Mountains.
Does the Buddy Heater company have a maintenance video and repair video?
I am not sure the they do, I think they are just selling them and not really wanting folks to work on them and or repair them. I have not heard back from them since this incident in November. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, it sounds like yall have a Wonderfull area for camping. I would love to camp up in the part of the world. Thank you and have a blessed weekend.

Great video I own the smaller B H but hook it to the 20lb propane tank to warm my laundry room when the temp goes down below zero water pipes burst so I got the little buddy and it works great up around 40degrees it's been going good but at the end of winter I disconnect the propane lines change out filter ,it's going on 4years now thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience, it is good to know someone else has found success with them. I hope you have a blessed week.
Dale
Hey, thanks for this video. I've lived in a van, 2015 Ford Transit currently, for years now and have been using the small version of your heater for to heat with.
I'm on my 4th or 5th heater since 2017. I was thinking the heaters were garbage because I've had to replace them so often.
After watching this, I'm thinking my problems with the heaters were probably caused by the way I stored it each off season. I also didn't know about using the filter for the first heater, so I'm pretty sure that's what killed that one.
I'm also installing radiant floor heating in this vehicle, so hopefully I can just keep the Buddy for backup.
My current heater will be cleaned like new before I store it next time and I will definitely be getting some of those silca packs.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and share your story with us as well. I agree, if I had done better with the summer time storage it may not have happened, but I wanted to share with folks. Thank you and I Hope you have a blessed week

Thank you for your great video. Was just about to buy one of these heaters to use during blackouts. Read several comments saying the quality of the heaters has gone way down.
Does anyone have suggestions for another brand ?
Many thanks in advance.
I haven’t found anything else. I just replaced it with a new one and have not had any issues with the new one. Not sure what happened in this one. We use them daily in the winter so we still use it. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

Quality is still up and up Thay took the fans out due to over Sea purchase of the part's needed for that function and accepting no substitute for a cheeper substitute still the best I found for back up and tent use .just remember it's propane (flammable) and a open flame rubber and plastic and flesh. Do a bit of homework and follow safe practice and a fire extinguisher should all was be available you got this 🤓

DO you know the name of Mr. Heater infrared heater that you can place a 20 pounder bottle inside the back of the unit ?? Thanks for your help.

@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors The size of ceramic heating panels is 9"X7" on the front of the unit. . The height of the unit is 33 inches. The 20 pounder tank fits inside. Hope someone would know. Peace vf.
Very lucky thing to come across your video - and the very smart comments!!
I have been looking at those heaters, which seem to be of, sometimes, so - so quality, but seem the easiest to obtain because they are so ubiquitous...while other brands are more scarce.
Those units aren't cheap, either ... so to have them "blow up" is not so convenient, and basically throwing money away, if there's a defect! Or, if a person makes a mistake when storing them - or/ and using the wrong hose!
So, Very Valuable information!!
Thanks so much, Everyone!

Im a little confused. Do i need to use a 1lb tank on the opposite side of the unit when using a 20lb tank with a hose on the other side ?
No, I wasn’t sure so that’s what I did. I think I created more issues than it was worth by leaving the empty tank on the other side. I had a fear it may leak. So I did it. My new one I just use the quick connect hose on it with a regulator built into the line and it works perfectly. Thanks for watching and sorry for the confusion I hope you have a blessed week.

Your very welcome, I have owned a lot of these over the years, I think the humidity here in deep East Texas is something I will have to work around this next spring when I box the new ones up, maybe put some of those moisture collecting deals in the box. Used there products for years with out issue. My wife and I sitting out back” she wouldn’t be out back without the heater” and Boom, left side has a failure. Moved 20lb away and shut it down but it still kept flaming even after hose removed
It did take a while for the flame to go out on mine as well, not sure what caused it , something failed, It was scary and I sure you felt the same way I did about it. No, as far as I know they never did reply to me or contact me, I know they are a good fair company, I am not saying they didnt send an email and it wen to junk mail or something, I will also say, I was not persistant, I figure it was just bad luck and not anyones fault so I never pressed the issue, I sent one email and that is all. The biggest issue is the when you connect dissimilar metals ( 1lb tank to the aluminum port it will rust and seize due to die electric they make a dielectric grease that will prevent this. But rust is like cancer and will eat everything. So unless you put it up wet in that bag it would not of happened if that tank was not connected , with that said you did make some great points. I’m here in southern Oklahoma and I actually pulled mine out yesterday from under my work bench and. Could not get it to light yea I had left mine connected to a 25 lb tank and untill yesterday I was unaware of a filter and my hose had leached so much oil I could not do a normal cleaning I had to pull it apart to component level and clean all tubes and orfaces and valves with air and alcohol it now runs great wish I’d of known about the filters and oil last year. Anyway new subscriber. Thanks for the info

So only 1 summer's worth of humidity caused all that damaging rust that led to an explosion???
If silica packets could offset the moisture buildup , how long will those things continue absorbing? How often would you have to replenish them?
I have no idea. Yes on the age of this one. I bought winter after another one aged out and stopped working. Then didn’t use it until this video where I was checking everything before my trip. I did replace it with another big buddy. Didn’t do anything different and nothing was rusted or failed. As far as the silicone packets. I have no idea. I didn’t use them. Treated this one just like it did the other one and it didn’t decay. My smaller buddy heaters I out back in the box with those packets and they work just fine as well this fall with no sirs of white rust or corrosion. The one in this video may have just been a fluke. I have no idea.

Thank you and hope y'all have a blessed week as well. I know this Big Buddy is pretty amaziing. We had one day, so far, of freezing temps and i had to set it from high down to low in a minute. Like you, i got one with the fan and yes it does make more of a difference than i imagined. the summers here in La are very humid as well and I want the heater to last forever of course, so i'll keep it in my cool room this summer.
Later then!
I have one. Hooked to a 20 lb. Get the pilot one but won't stay on and I go to turn know for on it goes out
Sounds like that same issue that gets use all from time to time. may well be the little tube has debris and or oils in it and its barely enough to let the pilot light get lit but not enough gas can get through to get the ceramic plates going. I am sorry to hear this.
Dale
Boom ! A few days ago, in rv, the 1lb propane heater blew up, caught fire and almost killed me. Its an old DynaGlo and once pilot lite it exploded. Why ? Is it possible the regulator failed ? Flames did like your explosion, internal explosion with flames coming out top. Luckily i have a fire extinguisher in rv. No more DynaGlo, im using just Mr Heater now. I wrote to DynaGlo and got no response. I didn't pre test GynaGlo outside before using in RV.
Oh man. I’m glad your ok. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week. I do agree. Test them all outside.
Dale.
My Dyna-Glo caught fire in my house and I wouldn't have known, but the fire alarm alerted me. I was in the same room even, not paying attention to the heater, when the alarm went off, and I almost had a heart attack when I saw the thing on fire. I was able to turn it off and get it into the gravel driveway. I got rid of that thing, and I have a Big Buddy heater which I haven't used yet. I'm really paranoid about using all these heaters now though.
I keep mine stored in my basement. Is this a problem?
I have no idea, I am by no means an employee of theirs, I was just sharing my experience with them. I did not have any of the issues with the two I bought last year that I replaced this one with, I think this was just a fluke who knows. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week.
Dale
Did you repair or replace the cross over pipe?
I threw it away and replaced th whole thing with a new unit. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I Hope you have a blessed week.
Dale
Question: Can one purge the hose with Everclear prior to use to clean it out?
Man I have no idea. Might send buddy heater an email and ask them. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week.
Dale.
Frustrated to say the least. Little bottles work like a charm. The company filter and 10’ hose doesn’t. Any ideas ?
No sir, and I so agree, I think it is all nonsense. In fact I am currently uploading a video on how to fix your buddy heater after using thier hose and filter and it stops working. I hate to say it, but the only fix that will possibly work is to buy a new one and only use the one pound bottles and or if you can find the Coleman heater, mine is over 25 years old and it still works. I just found another one on eBay and bought it, it will be the next video I upload after this one goes live in the morning. I wish they worked, I just can't seam to keep one working for a season anymore much less several years, they cost way more now, the LP is so much higher and you can't even get through a good cold front with one anymore. it dont make any sense to me. > technology should be increasing not going backwards.? I wish I had a better answer for you , but I am gong to switch back to the older Coleman, they work.
Dale
Mr. Heater hose #F273704 does not require a filter. Is that the hose you're talking about?
Rather than the issue being humidity, is it possible that the corrosion issue was a byproduct of the fan batteries leaking and the battery acid eating the the copper inner workings? Just a thought. Was the unit stored with the D cell batteries in it?
This one actually has the switch in the place, but there was no fan in it and no batteries were ever installed because it does not or did not come with the fan. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and know it was appreciated. I do like the way you think and I too could see that being a cause. Just not in this case it was sold with out the fan. I have since learned this was probably a California model which they do not sell with fans. Not sure why? Thank you and I Hope you have a blesse week.
Dale
Is there a way to fix it? The flame on mine is starting to past the ceramic tile
If you have a high flame, I would have to say you are probably hooked up to a 20 pound tank, that is the only time I have seen it, the fix is relatively painless, you need to purchase a Mr Heater connection hose that has a regulator build into the hose, I have actually fixed it using this hose. I hope this helps and thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment, I have a video coming on on Jan 4th that shows this connection and how it is used to reduce the flame up issues. Thanks again , Merry Christmas to you and your family and I hope yall have a blessed week.

I had no idea some of these came with a fan. Just started using mine with a 20lb tank to get some heat going while I get a fire started in the cabin. Thanks for the video.
In the cabin, sounds like a great place to be my friend. Yes this larger one does come with a w fan, there was a little while they had the switch etc like this one but no fan, I was told I have a California model. who knows, The one I replaced it with has a fan, I have sense started running a smaller heat fan, they run off the heat and where originally made for the wood burning stoves etc, it is a great option and it helps spread the heat around. Enjoy the fire place and have a blessed weekend my friend.
Dale
@ I have a couple of those fans and one I made as well, uses the same thermoelectric peltier plates that those vehicle coolers use. Just a six degree differential between the top n bottom of the plate is enough to generate the 5v for the fan motor. 100 npn transistors sandwiched between two ceramic plates, it’s wild how small they can be. They’re really cool in my opinion. Have a good day and happy new year!
Thanku for all the caring information
You are very welcome, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and know it is appreciated.

If your using a 20# tank w/ the filter & hose , should you or do you have to have a 1# canister connected on the other side?
I don’t think you need it. However this one in this video I was afraid it would somehow leak out the other side so I out an empty one on the other side and it corroded over. Hahah. Oops my bad. I forgot about it.
The new one I replaced this one with I am using the quick connect hose with the regulator on it. Much safer you don’t see the flames from the ceramic crawling up past where they should be like the normal hose and filter. Go figure this one out, you can’t add a filter to the hose from the same company with the quick connect. So that just brings up other questions in my mind. Why does it work fine with out a filter hit the other hoses from buddy heater need a filter. Hahahah. Who knows. Technology. Thank you and I hope this helps answer your questions my friend. Have a blessed week
Dale.
When not in use , and before storing, remove the propane bottle
Thank you 👀🇺🇸
Yes I agree, lesson learned for sure.

I have noticed that the small bottles rust out really fast..just a thought. Enjoy your informative post.
I agree, I should have not left it on there and I simply forgot about it. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week, Dale
I bought the carrying case for the Buddy heaters. It does have the moisture packs in Them as well.
Oh that is a good Idea, I may need to invest in one. I know I love my heaters when I need them. Thank you for sharing this with us and I hope you have a blessed week.

Question: if you use the big buddy with a 20lb tank do you have to plug in two of them (one to each side) to make both sides of the big buddy heater to work. if you only use one side will only one side heat up?
Excellent question, I was wondering the same and I have the answer, I left an empty one pound bottle connected to the side that was not connected to the bottle, (my fear was it might leak gas) and it will run both burnings just the same as if you only hade one bottle hooked to it. Using the 20 pound tank, you get a lot more heat for a lot less money as opposed to using the 1 pound bottle. After my little incident with this one, When I bought the second one, I used the 20 pound tank, only hooking it up to one side like I previously did on the one in this video, I just skipped putting an empty on the other side. Second, after they got back in stock, (full on winter) my hose from buddy heater with the quick connection came in. It has the regulator on it and I must say it works better. The regular hose with the filter screwed into the one pound bottle, this is my experience, the flame will gradually come up a hair high in my opinion. The quick connect hose has the regulator built in and does not do the, It makes me feel safer and also make me wonder why they dont all have the regulator built into the ? who knows?
I hope this helps my friend and I hope you have a blessed weekend. I am about to put mine up for the end of winter and will do another little video on this exact topic as well as the process I will do to prep it for storage. Thank you and I Hope you have a blessed weekend.

@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors Thank you. Really appreciate the response. I look forward in seeing the new video on this soon. I have the buddy heater hose coming with my order that is made for the 20lb tank which does not require the filter. I didn't see the one with a regulator quick disconnect hose built in. Do you have a link to that. sorry to be pain, just learning here. Take care and stay safe.
Have you used the Buddy heater flex yet ?
No, that is about the only unit I have not tried, I have looked into it, especially for its various Functions,. I have not however purchased one. I probably should get one just fr the reviews. I will be working on a video soon for the replacement big buddy heater and an accessory I love and have found it especially useful for getting more air flow from the unit, so look for that video to come out soon as well. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and know it is appreciated.

WOW! I had no idea this was going to be a full series the life and times of HM&O
hahaha, yeah, the funny part is, this video was pseicifically for a buddy of mine who never checks his gear and gets to camp and his stuff never works. I never pictured so many people watching it. I hope some of the information was helpful and sorry it was so long, if you have a buddy like mine, this video will make more sense. hahaha, Thanks agian and have a blessed week my new friend.

Hey I really like the heaters too just got my second one a few days ago for the big cold snap and blizzard moving through but first time out lighting my new one it ran normally for maybe three or four minutes and then it started sounding funny like a jet engine ramping up and then the glow of the burners got much brighter and then the fire kicked up 10 times it scared the crap out of me I thought it was going to blow up so I was quick enough to get it shut down but I have not been able to get it lit sense and I am scared to try
Yeah, I don't blame you a bit, sounds like you need a new for for certain, Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and I hope you have a blessed weekend and stay warm with this cold weather all around us.
Dale
Sounds like a defective regulator...
The hose with the quick connect uses a high-to-low pressure regulator. This regulator catches all traces of oil and impurities. Hence why it says in the manual that no in-line filter is needed when using the quick connect hose.
Well said, Thank you so very much, I will see if I can find one of those hoses for my new one. It will help.
Thanks again my friend, obviously I dont or didnt read the manual. It is a curiosity though. I wonder how it does it with out a filter? Technology. Interesting.
Thanks again and have a blessed weekend.
Dale
They changed the hoses for the quick connect they are made different so you do not get the debris from the hose, make sure you buy a Mr Heater hose not a aftermarket@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors
I noticed corrosion on the connection where the 1LB bottle screws in at.that right there told me propane leaked out. I live in east tx as well.and yes, the humidity can be pretty bad at times.especilly in the attic and garage. So you mighy try one of those heavy duty toates with a hinged lid that latches shut.i figure that'll keep moisture away. Plus you can keep the accessories with the heater as well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and share this with all of us. I like the tote Idea as well. Thank you and I hope you have a blessed week.
Enjoy these next few days of spring, it's a wonderful time to be in EAST TEXAS.

Just had this happen this week never used anything but one pound bottles, I live in South Georgia, also a big buddy heater about 5 years old.
I am sure sorry to hear this happened to you, I hope all is ok. they make a great heater for what it is, they just dont seam to last as long as they used to and or maybe the humidity is affecting some of the units more than others. I know the one I replaced the one in this video with is on its second season now and I have not had any issues with it and or it is not showing signs of rust or whatever. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

And wat kind of sace hose would i get to hook up to a 20 lb tank
The company shows a hose with a quick connect on the manual, Since this unit has a quick connect option, however, if you are on amazon, the quick links to suggested items to purchase with the big buddy heater shows the mr heater hose and mr heater filter. The alleged issues with using after market hoses in years past was the oils in the hose from manufacturing process will clog the line going to the pilot light and will cause your heater to not work when you need it and a frozen morning, this is a heck of a time to find out. I will go onto say, I have always used buddy heater hoses and they still have had the same issue, so the quick fix is to run it with the filter, however, those hoses that they sell that will fit the filter do not have a pressure regulator on them and it can cause your flames from the ceramics to go too high because there is too much pressure in the tank for the small hose. So my short answer would be to contact them and ask for certain, I am currently trying to find a good solution because the quick connect hose does not have an option for a filter and these units cost too much to let them get destroyed with he oils clogging the line going to the pilot light. I will do some more research and come up with a good solution.
Thanks for taken the time to watch and comment and I Hope you have a blessed weekend.

Mr. Heater part #F273704.
How long does one of those 1 lb. bottles last?
On this big buddy, not very long maybe between 4-6 hours depending on what setting, the original buddy, about 8 hours on low. so if you have a smaller off grid cabin something like that the one pound will last almost all night ling if you dont sleep past 8 hours. This being a key reason why so many use the 20 pound tanks with the heaters, those 1 pound bottle are close to 12-15 dollars a pair now at most palaces and you essentially get 20 in a 20 pound tank and only cost you roughly a dollar a pound verses 4-6 bucks a pound for the smaller one pound bottles.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I Hope you have a blessed week.

Thank you so much for this information.
Thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a blessed weekend.
I have the buddy heater not have had a problem and I used the 20 pound tank. But it stopped working the next time I use it brand new tank so I put a new little tank on it and it works not sure why but I think it's to much pressure
Thank you for taking the time to share this with us all, That is interesting. I wonder why, it may well be the too much pressure from the one tank. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed week.

Im considering getting one, so thank you for this..
Here's an idea instead of getting those dessacant packets- get a vacuum seal storage bag. Itd be easy to get it in and out and you wont have packets flying everywhere everywhere
That is an excellent idea my friend. I can tell you this is the only one that ever happened to. The one I replaced it with was the same model and it has no signs of anything weather or white rust or anything, so who know, I may have just got one that something was wrong with it. I am not certain. However, the new one I replaced it with works just fine. I hope you have a blessed week

Well shit. Now I gotta go check both of mine
Brother, I am telling you, I never would have believed it, had it not blown up on me, hahahah. Yes please go check them for rust or leaks before you get to deer camp. It's gonna be cold. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed hunt.

another nice video THANKS
Thanks for taking the time to watch my friend. I hope you have a blessed weekend.
About 14 years of using my Big Buddy and it's been awesome. Depending on my usage I run one pounders our the dedicated 20lbs hose. I made a custom cable to power the fan off a USB battery brick instead of D batteries as well.
My next video on the buddy heaters will be about the fan as well. I love the new addition to my camping gear.
That's a good idea as well. I seen online yesterday they make a 12 volt plug for the ones that do have a built in fan. My new one I replaced this one with actually has the fan in it, and as mentioned, below, I took mine to deer camp for the 2 weeks in Nov and used one of the fans. I will be doing a video on that shortly as time allows. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

I d like to see ypu pull that heater apart to see what really happened here. The fact you had rising flame is of interest. Ive got a 3 year old Big B, and it is hooked to a 20lb tank. ive burned 40 tanks worth of LP used pre coupled with B H hose. ..Now this year im seeing xtra flame on my heater. Your video has me wondering and worrying. Its like it is not burning right or to much. Thank yyou for this vid. With the cold coming on im heading out tomarrow to buy a new one.. I just dont trust MY heater tonight. I ll pull the old one down to see .....
@@rexh58ableI waited for almost 2 months for a reply from mr heater, and never heard back from them. My best guess and I am not a propane or heater and air man, is somehow or some way, the hose in the back going from the tank to the pilot light had a tiny leak and when it finally leaked enough gas in the back of the unit, it all ignighted at once. Now the cause of said leak, I have no idea. I know I wont sleep with one on anymore after this incident, I get my space warmer than I would like then shut if off, If I wake up cold, I re warm the area and then go back for the rest of my sleep, Again, I am not saying it was a manufacturing defect or anything, it may well all be related to the rust from the humidity I now live in and am not used to living in such a humid place and it all could simply be from that. It could have rusted one of those little pipes just enough to cause a leak.? I am not certain and can only guess that this is what happened?
I hope you have a blessed week.

I've had my buddy heater with the piezo starter and the power assisted fan for more then 8+ years now in nothern cali. Haven't had any issue I don't even store since it's used in the mancave / garage I do disconnect it during the off season. But I can't say anything negative about it but it's a fine piece of equipment. It surprises me to hear of this issue but I'm glad you did share it with everyone I'll be sure to have a fire extinguisher near by now since I've watched this video now.
Man, I tell you, back in Oklahoma I had some that lasted many many years just like your talking about and I dont know if it is the humidity hear and or the supply chain issue had some less quality parts or what the deal is, I generally use my equipment, and this one took me be surprise for dang sure, I replaced it with a newer one and it has the electric fan in it and since this video, and buying the new one, it has been totally issue free. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and I hope you have a blessed weekend my friend. Sorry for the delay on the comment, this one slipped past me somehow.

Just like everything these days, the Newer Heaters are more Cheaply Made than the Original Ones...
I had the same thing happen to me. My handle melted. It was garbage after that . I did some research on this. There is a diaphragm inside that needs to be replaced or inspected. I purchased the flex heater. A different setup. No issues so far.
Thank you for letting us know about the flex hearer. I hate to hear yours went bad as well, they cost quite a bit. My new one I replaced this one with is in its second season now and still going strong. Thanks again and I Hope you have a blessed weekend.

I'm a older female and live alone. I bought the middle size buddy and 8 one pound canisters of propane in case of power outtage for emergency heat. I know to leave window cracked, bouggt carbon monoxide detector and a fire blanket just to feel safe using it indoors (only for extreme emergency).
Im still afraid to try using it. Is there anything you can suggest to make me feel safer? Have I covered my bases to make using it safe? Anyone in comments please give tips.
Also where is safe to store the propane canisters until I use them?
It is always better to be safe than sorry, I understand that fear, and it is better to err on the side of caution, especially when it comes to safety, I hope that you have a blessed week.

Do you have any updates on these heaters?
The one I replaced this one with last year is still going strong. I think that particular one in this video was a fluke. Who knows. Never had it happen on one in the past and the new one I replaced it with is working just fine. So who knows. I never heard back from them when I emailed them about this one.
I hope this helps.

I bought one for my home in case the lites go out is this safe here in Texas
I am in texas and use mine in my home as well as the shop, I wont go to sleep with them once since this incident with it malfunctioning. Even the new units, I wont got to sleep with them on. The units are sold as indoor safe however, use it with caution and make sure you have a co2 sensor in your home or room you are using it in just incase, we can't smell co2 and it can cause significant health issues or death so I am told. I would use it with caution. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

I have one of these, eight years old.
Never had a problem. But I always use the 20 pound tank and never leave a one pound bottle in it when not in use. I never thought of the condensation being a problem I did that to make certain there would never be a leak.
It has always had a filter on the heater. I have second one four years old, same with it, no problems. they both have a fan.
That’s awesome news. I have had some lasted that long back when I was in Oklahoma. Like you always use a filter etc. this was just a fluke accident I think. Thank you for sharing and have a blessed weekend.

I had the crimp on one of those adapters hoses fail on me when using it for a propane stove. A 6 foot flame shot out the side of the crimp. My hose was about a decade old. So replace those if you have any question about its integrity.
That's good solid information thank you so much for tsahring my friend, duly noted. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and I hope you have a blessed weekend.

I was lucky I could reach the propane valve and turned it off. Now I will always use a tank that turns off when tipped over. That way I could have just kicked it over and it would have gone out.
Thanks for the video mine was smelling like unburnt fuel the new one has a single battery to ignite the pilot
You are very welcome my friend, I hope you got it all fixed up. I hope you have a blessed week .

Thanks and I'm glad that ya saved the beard!😂
Thank you for the kind words. Yea my friend. Beard is back to growing out. Thank you so very much and I hope you have a blessed week.

Correct. In high humidity, putting it in plastic will keep all moisture including salt air and can corrode non coated metals quickly like the old Japanese cars of the 70's. Great video!
Makes sense. But why do they ship them to you in a plastic bag ? It’s the same plastic bag it came in from the factory. Who knows. I added those extra packed of stuff that draws moisture out of the air when I stored the new one this year. It is working just fine. So make have just been a fluke. Who knows? Thank you so much I do agree and I hope you have a blessed week. Dale.
I really appreciate the tip about using silica packets to absorb moisture when storing my heater.
You're very welcome my friend, I can't say for certain what happened on this and why it got so corroded other than it is so much more humid here than back in Oklahoma. I have pulled the news ones out of storage this fall already and no issues at all, so I can say they worked this past storage time. I hope you have a blessed week and thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment.
Dale
You can also use a wool work sock filled with cat litter to suck up moisture, 👍
@jasonmcinnes8943 Thanx😁
I had an incident with my regular buddy heater that I left in my enclosed deer stand over the summer. Unknown to me a family of mice had moved in and built a nest.
The next year I cleaned out my blind before deer season and tested the heater. It didn’t ignite right away but about 30 seconds later I pushed the ignitor again and it blew up. Mice ran everywhere. I
I took it apart and cleaned it out but could find no damage. It has worked fine for two seasons now but I make sure that mice can’t get to it.
Oh wow. I bet the mice were running like crazy. Thanks for taking the time share this with us and I hope you have a blessed season my friend. Good luck and keep us posted on your harvest.
Dale.
How about not leaving canisters in it so there’s nothing to leak?
That is a totally fait statement, the small one pound bottle was empty when I put it on, I did that because in my mind I felt like that would potentially be a leak point using the 20 pound bottle. In the end, yeah, I should have taken that off and to be honest, when I was putting it away for storage, it was empty and I didnt even think about it until I brought it out of the loft from storage prepping for the trip I took. I do agree, I should have removed it. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I Hope you have a blessed weekend.

Thanks for the heads up!! I do not know where you are in East Texas, But I do know that Buddy Heater has issues in elevations above 7000 feet. I always use COMPRESSED AIR AND BLOW MINE OUT BEFORE USE EVERY WINTER... THE HOSE TOO. I don't use a q-tip to clean the pilot light hole,,, there's supposed to be a RUBY IN THERE THAT CAN BE DAMAGED,,, JUST LIGHT AIR FROM AIR HOSE,,, ALSO SPIDERS CAN BUILD WEBS IN THE AIR INTAKE AND CAUSE ISSUES.... SO A GOOD BLOW OUT WITH A AIR HOSE DOES WONDERS.... THE FILTER ONLY KEEPS MOISTURE OUT ... LARGE TANKS HAVE A TENDENCY TO HAVE MOISTURE IN THEM... those rattle's you hear when shaking the filter, are those little moisture removing ball's.. like in those DON'T EAT THIS CAPSULES.. AND BAGS IN MEDICINE BOTTLES.... The reason for not having the fan motor was to cut costs from what i researched!?? I have the older model with fan... Which by the way EATS BATTERIES QUICKLY,,, BEST USED WITH THE ADAPTER IF POSSIBLE...... and by the way,,,,they are bad about not getting back to you if you have a complaint or question... been there DONE THAT TOO MANY TIMES....oh and another really good reason for blowing them out with an air hose good is MICE,,, THEY LIKE TO BUILD NESTS UP INSIDE THOSE!! AND WHEN THEY URINATE UP INSIDE THERE THAT WILL QUICKLY RUST OUT THE INSIDES!! i personally have never had a problem with storing them with the tanks attached... If you stored it in the ATTIC WHERE MICE LOVE TO HANG OUT AND PLAY,,,, CHANCES ARE THEY ARE WHAT CAUSED THE ISSUE!! ALWAYS BLOW OUT WITH AIR,,, AND INSPECT IT GOOD FOR MICE NESTS AND SPIDER WEBS ETC..BEETLE BUGS,STINK BUGS ANYTHING THAT LOVE TO HIDE IN THINGS LIKE THAT!! AND ALWAYS PRE-LIGHT OUT SIDE BEFORE USE!! I'VE HAD BOTH OF MINE FOR OVER 10 YEARS,,,, STILL RUNNING LIKE NEW! Just an old COUNTRY BOY OPINION......❤
Thankyou for taking the time to share this with everyone, I truly appreciate it, I had not thought about the air hose, great idea. Thank you and I Hope you have a blessed weekend.
dale
@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors your VERY WELCOME,,, I TRY TO SHARE WHAT I KNOW WITH EVERYONE,, ANOTHER REASON FOR THE COMPRESSED AIR TREATMENT,, those tiny holes in the ceramic plates have a tendency to get stopped up while not in use,, that can effect the COMBUSTION TOO.... THOSE HEATERS ARE THE BEST for either backup heat or camping or anywhere you need heat... And don't stink like kerosene heaters do. Plus with the oxygen depletion system, there safe to use indoor.. NOTE: TO EVERYONE,,,, NOW EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE OXYGEN SAFETY SYSTEM,,, IT'S STILL A GREAT IDEA TO HAVE SOME SORT OF FRESH AIR VENT ETC.. JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE... DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SO LARGE AS TO LOSE YOUR HEAT,,,, BUT ENOUGH TO LET A LITTLE EXTRA AIR INTO THE HEATED AREA........ TAKE CARE,,,,,, STAY WARM ❤️

I bought the big one too, never used a little bottles, always the 20 lb lpgs. Mine had the fan in it and I used to AC adapter to run it longer times. The first one I got did a flame out after a long time, I mean it blew out caught me by surprise, but I could turn it off with the knob. Contacted the company they sent me a new one. Never had the same problem. This was quite a few years ago, used indoors in Central Florida for that rare severe cold snap. I still have mine, the new one they sent me.

I am like you. I clean mine at the end of season so that's it's ready to go the next go around, these units are not cheap so I also bought the bags that Mr. Heater makes to store them. Thanks for sharing the lesson learned, I try to learn from mine and others mistakes hey that's life.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment, I have mostly learned the hard knocks in my life and if I can share some things not to do to help others, that is ultimately what we strive to do on this channel is help others. Thank you for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts as well. Thank you and I Hope you have a blessed week.

I have a problem only 1 side of my big buddy isn’t heating up
Im sorry, that does not sound good at all, the only good solution I have found for any of the buddy heaters fixes is to buy a new one, I do not think they are designed for anything other than normal cleaning , definitely not made for repairs in my mind. I hope you find a solution, if you get board, we actually have a give away going on right now, If you are interested, check that video out. Good luck and I Hope you find a solution.

I was able to reach out to them and they are sending me one out under warranty 😊
Thank you, sir. Appreciate you taking the time out to inform us I'm a third generation plumber. Got 25 years in myself. They call me ATOM 💣 And trust me I have been called worse I believe your issue is edit. Edit, it's happening with pipes that contain water as well. It's the inferior metals that were using might look like brass, but it's half of what it used to be Since making.
It led freewell. Well, we won't go thewe live in a throwaway societhey. With half of our workforce, not contributing sitting on their LA, z, losing all of our jobs to overseas and then paying for the c*****, then I went there. the aluminum, even the stuff. That says stainlesteel. I'll see that s*** rusting, d*** China. but it's the metals. It's the brass going on to the. Pop metal just like on a periodic table. Metals are fighting one another. Now we're taking all the good stuff out the l Material is thinner weaker softer and can't fight for itself. Cause we're stripping it away.and I'm seeing it more and more hoses. Getting stuck on hose bibs cylinders getting stuck on threads. What I'd like to do is put a little bit of lubricant on there, o'ring seal. Vaseline something a barrier. I wanna go pipe dope or anything like that, but you could a light compound. Nothing too heavy. Keep the couple first threads free of any not to cause it to get up into your Orpheus's orifices. But I had the same issue with mine. I left left the tank on it and it's still. Hung up a little bit. I was able to get it off so myself. I put just a little bit more left. Just a little bit of the thread, just with a dusting of the finger, but gooed the bottom one, so not to get that. That means seal at the bottom where most of the corrosion sets out, but it will work its way up to the thread, but usually the very top thread is good to go did all that hard work. I'm here in Florida. So I got similar situation. Then the Dang thing fell off and tipped over broke the tile and my brand new 15.5 monitor hopefully, hopefully something else already happened and I forgot about it because they say it comes in thrjust. Wish more. The stores will carry replacement parts for these things. Different long gotta gotta go. I'll watch you on your next one.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, that sounds like a very common issue and you're right I hadn’t even thought about the metals. Thank you. I hope you're ok and that the monitor is ok as well.
I have the quick connection. Although I don't have a filter. It does have a pressure regulator. Not a straight tank to unit.
Yeah I have wondered about the quick connection not having a filter on it,. How long have you been using your set up like that with no filter. Maybe the new hoses for the quick connection do not have the oil issues or whatever was originally causing some for the issue when using the longer hoses? Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend.
Dale
I have the quick connect too. I remember reading something about not needing the filter if you buy the hose from Mr. Heater
@@LouisianaJesse Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I think buddy heater is using newer materials these days,. All the hoses I have used over the years, where body heater hoses with filters etc. I think you are correct, I am currently running buddy heater brand hoses with the filters. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment and know it is appreciated. I hope you have a blessed week.

Does ANYONE know who I could contact to look at my little buddy. I’ve had it for 3 year with no problems. This year it will light but won’t stay on. I tried the alcohol and q tip. Didn’t help.
I’m an older lady so I just don’t know anyone who can help me. I live in Bentonville AR
Thanks so much!🙏😇
How about don’t leave a lp tank screwed in while in storage?
Ha, that is easy to say now, I just showed what can happen if you leave an empty tank attached to it. Thank you so much for the kind comment. I hope you have a blessed week and rest assured, the next video we make will be made especially for you,. Thank you again for the feed back it is truly appreciated. I hope you have a blessed week and stay warm my friend.

I keep a fire blanket close by in case of a fire.
That is so smart, I have one now as well. You just never know and the fire blanket is an awesome idea. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and I hope you have a blessed weekend.
Dale
Good idea to have at least 2 fire blankets. One ALWAYS in the kitchen unboxed and ready to grab for potential cooking stove fires. One near the back door or wherever you are lighting up a grill, fire pit, or buddy heater just in case something goes wrong (Murphy’s Law). Fire Blankets are not just regular household blankets. They are made with fire retardant materials. We bought our Fire Blankets on-line.
Thank you for the info ❤ very kind, I will be careful !
Thank you for the kind words friend. I hope you have a blessed weekend.

OK thanks for the good tips. We learn from our mistakes and others' mistakes. I once sprayed spray-foam near my water heater and the water heater kicked on and ignighted the wall near me and since i work with small fires at a factory my instincts kicked in and i put it out within seconds with a fire extinguisher. The funny thing is, as a kid, we are taught to leave the house immediately and go to a neighbors house, so my adult brain did the child instinct from training even though we have cell phones now. Neigbor called the fire dept, and it was an embarrassing day.
That sounds like a scary experience, but you did the right thing by putting out the fire, I'm glad you're okay. Thanks for sharing this with us al and I Hope you have a blessed week my friend. I agree, trainmen will always kick in when it is needed.

Could you review this video, edit what you stumbled on , and remake and repost the video?
Oh sure, no problem at all, thanks for the feed back and I Hope you have a blessed week.

Good information!
There are also many videos out there about measuring CO and O2 levels in tents running Buddy heaters. I would like to add my comment to one of those that your readers may be interested in.
How about carbon dioxide, CO2?
I bought CO2 meter a little over a year ago to test the levels in my house. We heat our house with wood, so there is no central system circulating the air in the house in the winter. The first night in our bedroom, I awoke to pee at 2:30 and was shocked the CO2 level was up to 1300 ppm, that with 2 adults and a cat in a 12x12x8 room. Later, at 4:30, it was up in the 1600s. They say the safe range is green up to 999ppm; warnings from 1000 to 1999ppm are yellow; and dangerous from 2000 and above are red. Alarmed, I built a fresh air exchanger for the bedroom and later a large system for the whole house.
Last month, just before Xmas, we went on one of our week-long camping trips. We have a 5m canvas bell tent with ventilation in the peak, some windows cracked, and we leave the door zippers open 16" so our cat can come and go at night. Out of curiosity, I brought the CO2 meter along and was shocked when, in the early morning hours, it was reading 2400ppm, then a few hours later, in the 2600s, well into the red danger zone. This is with the Buddy heater on low 4000btu.
I don't know quite what to think about this. We have camped with the exact system in the same tent with the same Buddy heater hooked to a 20Lb tank for 5+ years with no apparent problems, but I am alarmed and unsure what to do about this. Normally, the outside readings are from the 400s to the 600s. In the house, they say 800s are good, well over 2000, very bad!
This is in a large bell tent with 3 or more times the volume of a 10x12 cabin tent.
I think you are very smart to turn the heater off at night when the children are sleeping. I am in my mid-70s and pushing up against my expiration date anyway, so I try not to sweat stuff like this too much.
Thank you so very much for sharing this information with us my friend, I may need to get one of those to check the levels in the shop, thanks for letting us know and I Hope you have a blessed weekend my friend. And again, thank you so so much for sharing this with everyone.

Thank you for posting this video,
I need to get my Buddy Heater out and fire it up.
Your very welcome brother. I was shocked. I think it’s just way too humid here. I have one that is working and I don’t trust it. When I get back from deer camp I will replace it with a new one.
Over the years I have had 3 little buddy heaters caught on fire below the pilot light. Be careful not to sleep with these on. Thanks for your video. I connected the company just to let them know and they never responded to me.
Oh wow, I hate to hear this, I agree, not sleeping with them on is a brilliant idea as well. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment and share your story with us. I hope you have a blessed weekend and again thanks for sharing this information with us all.
