Terry! I have a question please! Loved the frickin video 🙌🏼 Just got my DJI Mic 2 this week. How would you set it up best for recording the sounds of my bike while I’m riding? Probably no noise cancellation and mess with low cut?
Big shoutout to @Terry for the hilarious take on DJI MIC 2 - 'They did it again!' 🎤😂 I can't help but hear a remix in my head, 'UPS, I did it again,' like a Britney Spears soundtrack for gadgets! 🕺📦 P.S. Bought the Dji Osmo Pocket 3, and even my cat's impressed with the microphone! 🐱🌟 #DjiMagic #BritneyVibes
The improved mic clip and Bluetooth capability are COOL (over my current v1). Would be nice to be able to pair with laptop or desktop for web calls... but not compelling enough for me to upgrade. THANK YOU Terry for showing close up comparisons to DJI mic. I use the DJI mic (aka v1) with my S10 phone, RX100, A6400 AND the charging case rides in a small pocket in my backpack 24x7. So smaller size and rounded MATTERS to me. 1) I don't like that the case got bigger (and fugly-er). 2) More importantly, the receiver got bigger. Not good for smaller devices. Might fit/look fine on a FF cam but not my gear. Also, not a fan of the jog wheel that looks like it was just slapped on and appears like it could get turned easily by accident. 3) Old mics are smaller and better looking to wear. New mics look plastic-ee and I don't see the mic grill (wind muff mount) as an improvement.
Hey, had mine for about a week, the best point was about the noise cancellation, which I tried too and yep, it really improves the audio quality. Great post!
I got this mic with my P3, and it's fantastic. Quality of recordings compare to MKE400. If I plan to record any 2 person interviews I will buy the combo.
Have watched 10 other videos on the DJI Mic 2 set and learned a lot more on your video than others. The Lav wire clip on the mic themselves. The feature that doesn’t let people accidentally stop recording on the mics. The auto record and other features. Great job getting tips others overlooked or didn’t notice.
the receiver and extra transmitter is a separate combo, and the case is 69, which is less than the 349 all inclusive combo, so most scenarios is catered for
@@AndreSjoberg right, but 349 minus 99 is 250. But if you want the RX, TX and case it's 288 which the only way to get that combo so I can use with op3 and any other camera.
@TerryWarfield, how does it work with the iPhone? Did they fix the issue where you can now record audio directly to the iPhone with the lightning port adapters?
I have the dji mic 1s now and I love them. It's the best investment. Excited for the 32bit float and bluetooth option. As well as the Cold shoe piece being fixed. I also broke mine pretty early on and had to get a 3d printed one that does not fit in the case. Very annoying. But besides that, love them and I would and have recommended them to anyone looking for a great set of mics. Most well rounded by far.
Do you know if you can connect the transmitters to a computer at the same time to save the audio files by connecting the case? That's a feature I believe they have on the rode wireless pro's which is cool
Yo Terry! Would you happen to know how to adjust the settings on the receiver without a transmitter? I have the dji pocket 3 creator combo. I tried connecting the mic to the dji app but it wont come up. Im trying to set gain levels and stuff. Anyone know how?
Hey Terry, does it connect through Bluetooth to the DJI RC2, or do you need to plug in the receiver for audio on screen recordings. Sent from my frozen igloo in Central Alberta, Canada.
Honestly, the audio sounded better with the noise cancellation off - like, yeah, the background noise is more present with it off, but the mic picks up the voice really well from the noise, and the noise is constant but pretty low in the background making the voice nice and clear - as soon as the intelligent noise cancellation is turned on the background noise is lower, but it’s also *really* warbly and weird going in and out, and that also affects the voice making the voice all warbly and weird like a really bad compressor/warble filter.
@@TerryWarfield I can imagine :) Which is why I was *very* impressed by the clarity of the un-noisecancelled audio, your voice was really clear and prominent over the background noise :) The intelligent notice cancellation might be great for more subtle background noise removal though, like humming fans and stuff like that :)
We love you Terry, cant express as a photographer and videographer myself what a huge fan i am of your channel and we both have alot in common with cameras, I hope i get to meet you one day
Hi Terry, what was the audio source that you used for this video, was it the audio file extracted from the transmitter or the output of the receiver please?
So say you have the setting to turn on and off the receiver, but have the mic already connected to you, will it turn that on and off as well? 9:47 like if I’m out doing a vlog can I just turn the camera on and it ALL comes on or do I need to turn the mic on and off separately?
Hi Terry @TerryWarfield, Greetings from Dominican Republic. Thanks for this video!. Great Review! .Look, I bought the Dji Osmo pocket 3 and I'm wondering two things. First one: if I Just buy one Dji Mic 2, Is It going to let me pair that one with the mic 2 that came with the Osmo pocket 3?, in other words if It is going to work the two mic at the same time?. Secondly, Can I use the 3 mics with the Osmo Pocket 3?, I mean, The one that came with it and the two that came with the new Dji mic 2?
Terry thank you for making this video. I subscribed before I even watched it. Here I am on the train wandering which one did I buy as you compare the two and that is because I purchased it last year and never even opened it ugh. Who knows what I got or if it even works. Since it was Black Friday when I bought it the return window is probably passed. All day at work I will be playing this video and fixated on my purchase waiting for me at home. I will give an update!
Thank you for your presentation. I do think the I N C does sound a bit muffled but it's minimal in my opinion. I think I'll stick with the wireless PRO for now.
Good stuff. One note, BT runs over 2.4GHZ already. I thought you were going to say it has sub 2Ghz or sub 1Ghz like commercial wireless transmitters. But you did say you were winging it lol😅 thanks!
Hey there! Love your content! As a fellow videographer, audio monitoring is key for me. I've been trying to connect my DJI Pocket 3 or DJI Mic to my bone conduction headphones via Bluetooth while recording for wireless audio monitoring. I've asked around on TH-cam and the DJI forum but no luck so far. Any chance you could share a wireless solution? Thanks a bunch!
As an Osmo Pocket 3 owner, I feel a little screwed that DJI doesn't sell the Mic 2 a single mic kit with the charging case. If you buy the single mic bundle, they give you a stupid little pouch and charging cable. Also, I wonder how many of the Mic 2's can connect to the Osmo Pocket 3 internally via bluetooth. Great video and I'm definitely getting the 2 mic set and I guess I'll have 3 mics all together. Weird and unthoughtful by DJI, but it is what it its I guess...
I was able to order 2 DJI Mic 2's from B&H Photo today for my standard pocket 3. Ive been using the rode wireless go II which isn't bad but i really was digging the Wireless mic feature on the pocket 3 and i finally got to order it. It definitely took DJI some time. I troed ordering it from DJI but wow it sold out within minutes on their site. 😅
That’s cool. I’m content with the first. I’m Curious to see how the camera selection changes the recording vs trying to find a 1/8 connection that works well though.
Can you use the mics in stereo mode when connecting the receiver to a computer via USB? My OG DJI Mics can only operate in mono mode this way, which is kinda annoying.
Great review. Thank you for this! I would have liked to see you test out the range and going to different rooms etc with walls and also to see if there's any delay when you're monitoring it live, but good review on the features.
I need your help, your one of the few to keep it 100......I noticed my DJI mic 2 sounds great when connected to the pocket 3, as it should. When I connect it via bluetooth to my iphone 15 pro max or my S23 Ultra or even my macbook I noticed a big drop off in audio quality. Is that something you have seen? I know most reviewers won't way anything but I'm hoping you have tried both ways and what your thoughts are on the audio?
It's a win across the board, but the noise cancelation is underwhelming. The Hollyland flagship's is shockingly good. I am curious what it'd sound like on an actual street corner and not "simulated" through a TV speaker, though. Kickass video man.
Yeah I feel the tv speaker much have been a harsh test. Loud piercing sound from small tv speakers at max volume might not have been ideal. It does much better in real world scenarios
Great video Terry :) I've been waiting on more info coming out. I have the original DJI mics and have been on the fence about adding some rode wireless pro's, I love the idea of the locking lav socket and that little cable clip on the DJI mic 2's is better than nothing. The break in the file still being there is a pain too :( I love the controls on the DJI, the new dial is a great addition for changing gain
BTW there's a little mistake in this video. The DJI MIC 1 also has record lock (so that you don't accidentally switch it off during recording). From how he says it, it sounds like he's implying that the 1s didn't have it. Otherwise great video, was waiting for this release for a while. Thanks

Finally a comparison between these two. Thank you
Main question here is have they fixed the buzzing if you put the receiver any where near the Sony A7S3 ?
Is it still only 2 mics per receiver or does the mic2 allow you to connect more than 2 mics?
as a sony user, between dji and ecm-w3,which one is better?
If I purchase the transmitter by itself, will that pair with the Osmo pocket 3?

They need to have a combo for people that already have an OP3 creator combo with the single mic2 transmitter.
They sell the transmitter by itself for $99 USD, if you want to add one to the Pocket 3 or Action 4...

I just dropped another video lmao. 2 in one day 😂😂
Thanks for the product review. The noice cancellation feature on sounds a bit echoey, but useful.

Commenting to stay TH-cam Terry. Also side note do you have streamer gear reviews?
is this the same mic comes with osmo pocket 3 creator bundle?
Yes

Yeah I know. I left it in tho because a lot of people will be comparing this against the rode wireless pro and it’s a defining feature between the two
I'm confused. I have the DJI Pocket 3 Standard version. Which Mic should I get? Do I just need the DJI Mic 2 transmitter for £$89?

exactly what I was looking for this morning! thanks!

Makes me want to buy it.
Noise cancellation seemed to work great.
Thanks, great info and video. Much appreciated!
What's the max amount of receivers you can pair with the transmitter. So I need a 4 mic setup.
2. We had a 6 man podcast the other day, with 6 DJI mic transmitters. We just used internal recording on them all and synced them in post
