Just made a firmware update tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/CPiyg3djJ_k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SOZtIgI7stD6hcGh
do you use the built in noise cancel? i prefer to do it in post
This is so much better of a video than the standard DJI influencer guys who just run through the specs and don’t even explain things. Nice job on the video. I’m trying to decide if I want just a transmitter or spring for the transmitter with receiver combination. I probably will use it primarily with the pocket 3 but maybe the phone and/or Sony camera occasionally.
Thankyou! For starters I love that you get the option to just buy the transmitters individually because they are super useful by themselves half the time that’s how I’ve used them. With that said, the charging case alone is super handy so I’d prob lean toward the kit if you plan on ever wanting to use it with a cam it’s still super nice to have the receiver
Solid review of how to make best use of my new DJI Mic 2 Kit - loved this, no BS, just to the point, and in simple terms how to do it! Thank you!
Excellent video. Concise yet thorough. This is how walkthroughs should be done.
Thankyou I appreciate the feedback, that’s a balance I strive for with these!
Your explanation of every feature was spotless, clear and concise. I was able to follow along easily. I appreciate you making this 🙏🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Best tutorial i’ve seen on the mic2 yet. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
You sold me on preset camera settings. That is ingenious! DJI is amazing. Thanks for making this video. Have a nice day! 😀
Thanks for this video! Just received my Mic 2 and this was an incredibly helpful walkthrough. Keep up the good work!
Subscribed based on this video. It’s amazing and legit the best, most engaging and informative walkthrough tech guide I’ve watched in MONTHS. 😊😊❤❤
The best video I watched on the DJI Mic 2. Enjoyed the video thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this video Ben! I was able to set my new Mic 2 up while following along. Best settings video I've seen on the new Mic 2.
Awesome, glad it helped, thanks for watching Todd!
Thank you, this video is super informative and well explained! Appreciate you.
Thank you so much for this. I was about to return the MIC2 set which I'd borrowed from a friend. Cos it seemed like just too much for a novice like me. But after watching your video, I'm charged up to begin using it. And I even believe I'll be able to master it. Well done!
great job, superb video. structured, simple, professional.
Outstanding video. Great presentation. Thank you!
Superb content. Good manner, and a great pace. Thank you.
Going to pile on more praise ... this is a great tutorial; very succinct and clear. This should be THE defacto DJI Mic 2 tutorial; 'LIKED/SAVED' in my favorites folder.
Excellent video. You answered several questions I had that I could not find an answer to elsewhere. Thank you!
I just got these and am so stoked to use them with my A7IV. This was such a great video man. Thanks so much for the explanation here.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for this clarifying lesson. Very educational presentation.
This is the best DJI MIC VIDEO IM so impressed
Wanted to echo the sentiment that this was an absolutely brilliant review of the DJI. I know a lot of people go back and forth about what is better - DJI vs Rode, but I ended up grabbing this DJI Mic 2 and it’s an absolute game changer from the $10 PopVoice Lav mic I was using so thank you for breaking down all of the features! Hugely helpful.
Thanks for the encouraging comment! Both the rode and DJI are great, I personally prefer the DJI for me because I find it overall faster and easier to use because of the interface, and that it connects with my osmo, but the rode is fantastic as well in its own right and has some good pro features that others may find very suited for them
This is an excellent video very helpful for me, who has no experience of using dji mic 2, thank you so much
Glad it was helpful!
This is brilliant, thank you. Much better than anything else I have seen on the subject
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for explaining in detail.
This was a fantastic walkthrough. Thank you! These mics are so damn good!
Oh! Didn't know we could swipe up from below a recorder and edit the options there. Nice! Thank you!
Happy to help!
Thank you Ben! This is the best mic explainer video ever! Super helpful!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for this video Ben., no hype ad plenty of useful information, presented extremely well. One question: you mention being able to swap out a transmitter if you have, say a third unit. Presumably you cannot connect the receiver to more than two transmitters at any one time?
Excelente reseña. En ningún lugar decía como abrí el menú y este fue el ÚNICO creador de contenido que lo dijo. Muchas gracias.
Glad this was helpful!
Extremely helpful dude! Thx💪🏿💪🏿
this and a couple of your other videos have been very helpful. thank you Ben!
Happy to hear that!
Excellent faultless delivery and explanations with no waffle . Impressive.
Thanks Tom!
I got this yesterday but this video is really handy 👌 thanks again
Amazing video! Thank you so much!
Very useful information about the 32 bit recording only in the transmitter. That was exactly what I was trying to figure out too.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the info just bought these a few days ago
Amazing video!! So helpful!!
Excellent summary, thank you 🙏
Perfectly explained, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Dude. Thanks for this. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for this. I couldn't figure out what the yellow light was on the reciever was. Now I know it means noise cancelation.🤙
Thank you for the clear explanations!!
Glad it was helpful!
Great. straight foward. Thanks dude
Glad it helped!
Thanks for a great video!
Excellent video the best setup video for this Mic thank you Ben 😊
Glad you liked it!
Great Video! Super helpful
Very helpful. Thanks
Thank you needed this crash course
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Ben! Somehow, I managed to "unlink" my second mic and couldn't figure out how to get it to connect back to the receiver. Holding down the record button for a few seconds did it. I tried to contact dji for this... not surprising no luck there! Thank you again for the help.
THANKS SO MUCH! GOD bless
i like 1st version more from the design perspective, DJI logo was more subtle and having no physical wheel was also more convenient
Pros and cons to both!
thank you for your time!
excellent presentation. thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Great video!
This video is what I need . Thanks 🙏
Awesome, glad it helped!
Great video. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Love the set up Ben, Just made a pros and cons video about these bad boys...
Thanks for this.
Dope tutorial brother. Thank you.
Thanks! Appreciate it 🔥
Good stuff here. Thanks.
Great Ben - thank you from a professional noob!
Thank you for this video. I was trying to find how to use the two transmitter at the same time and which configuration to use so the audio from one mic doesn’t get picked up by the other mic
Glad it helped! 🔥
Thank you for such a great video explaining the DJI Mic 2 kit. One question remains in my mind in my decision to purchase this system as an upgrade to the DJI Mic 1 system that I already own. With the DJI Mic 1, if you use the lightning adapter in conjuction with an iphone, the iphone would record mono audio and not stereo. Is this still the case with the Mic 2 system. My iphone is a 14 pro max with lightning connector so that would ultimately make up my mind as to whether I should upgrade or not. I would love to be able to connect the receiver to my phone with the one adapter and be able to record stereo audio. Thanks again!!
thank you watched in full understood everything, waiting on my exchange like the idea of the Auto off with the Rx, the only downside is DJI dedicated to the OTG, and no hot shoes like the camera, where they can make a Right angle, and screen swap, to use with the camera. too bad my Sony ZV1M2 is not bluetooth Lol catchy title Unlocked, nothing was locked Lol
Great video thank you. I keep getting a low bit rate on my recordings and I'm not sure why (I'm just using audio by the way) - do you have a video on this?
Thank you sir!
You are welcome!
Thanks for this useful video from İstanbul Ben. 👍🏼
Glad it was helpful!
thank you!!!
thanks !
Nice Video Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Just got it today. Now it works with the native camera app (Iphone 15 pro)
Serious????? Incredible 🙏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for this Video
Thanks for watching! 🔥
thNks
Thanks for video! I've seen some videous with major issues of this set. For example the sound from both mics is very different (Wayne RECs video). I hope you'll make a review video with some test as well
I’m working on a review video now, so far haven’t seen that issue but will look for it
@@benjohnsoncreative Thank you for your answer and solid work with reviews. Especially with gear that is very professional, but still afordable. I've been waiting for 6 month for DJI Mic 2 and feel a bit disappointed after watching videos mentioning issues. I'm going to wait some more weeks and hope DJI Mic 2 turns our to be really professional stuff
Wayne’s video is great, but I have to disagree with the «very different» statement ;) They where different, but not *very*, as in fixable with some EQ, and probably not very noticeable if the mics where put on two different people with different voice characteristics :) I made a video myself about another issue, affecting people who where hoping to use it with smartphones - in bluetooth mode backuo recordings are disabled for some odd reason, and for those hoping to just buy a transmitter/mic and use it with a smartphone it turns out you can’t switch on 32 bit float if you just have the mic and want to record just on the mic, not connected to a smartphone - dji have a little explaining to do the coming days - take a look at the video for more details :)
@@AndreSjoberg I agree that with two different people you probably would never even notice slightly different microphone performance. I’m trying to decide if I just want to buy a transmitter or the transmitter with receiver combination. I will probably use it primarily with the pocket 3 but may occasionally use it with my phone and Sony camera.
@@Reviews4fun1 Currently the only way to turn on 32 bit float (off by default), and turn off the low cut filter (on by default) is through the receiver, so having just the mic/transmitter doesn’t give you access to all the features (this *might* change with firmware updates, depending on if the transmitter is dependent on some weird mojo in the receiver, even though the recording is stored on the transmitter). Depending on your recording scenarios (talking head at a desk vs running around) having access to the receiver at least at the desk scenario, might be a plus - and since the mic doesn’t work with iphone native video (if you use that) and it doesn’t give you gain setting in blackmagic camera app, the receiver is the only way to adjust gain on the mic as well. So my advice would be to get the tx/rx combo, especially since they don’t sell the rx-unit separately, if *any of the scenarios I described earlier applies to your usecase - I’m doing a usecase-video this week on my channel of the different scenarios and what limitations arise from each scenario if you’re interested in anything like that, with audio tests of different modes/features and a couple of «hidden quality of life features» I’ve found useful :)
08:04 Exaaaaactly what I needed, thx a million!
👍
Awesome glad it helped!
Good video. Question. Whilst linked in normal mode, if you decrease the gain of one transmitter then go into bluetooth mode and link with a camera, does the gain on that transmitter stay reduced ?
The best vídeo!
thanks brooo!
No problem!!
Hi Ben!
I appreciate all your videos on the DJI Mic 2! Great job..
I recently bought this DJI Mic 2 system. I am having the hardest time finding the correct settings to use. When i insert my video clips using the wireless mic.. it sounds like crap!
I am using filmora 13 and even if i max the sound clip in the filmora progam..it is not loud enought. Any suggestions.
i have both receiver and transmitter set to +9 and the low cut off and I am only using one mic and it is set to Mono.
Can you plese give me the settings you used for this video. Your sound is crisp and amazing!
Any help appreciated!!
Rico
Great video bro! That low cut was hurting me over here
Was yours on by default? I’m pretty sure mine was on by default when I got them… wild. Not sure why they’d do that
Great video! Very useful. Learned a lot from it. Still have to use my Mic 2. I have a question. I thought you said you were using the standalone transmitter from the osmo pocket without it being linked to the receiver. Is it still possible to record in 32 bit float? I thought you need the transmitter to be linked with the receiver for this purpose. I have one transmitter and a receiver.
It’s actually the opposite, 32bit float is only on the internal backup recording of the transmitter
Thanks! I would like to use the transmitter a lot standalone.@@benjohnsoncreative
Cheers mate
Thanks for watching!
When you plug in the iPhone adapter on the receiver, does it help you monitor audio levels from your phone? Not sure if I worded that well
Do you think they will be good for recording car exhausts ?
Thanks for the video, Ive recorded sound on both mics into a Canon 5D but cannot separate the sound in FCP from one track to two any ideas?
If you use mono, do you need to link both transmitters to your iPhone’s Bluetooth, or do you still need to link both transmitters?
Thanks for the video. Your relinking section however does not explain how to relink if one bought the version without the charging case.
Hey Ben! Thanks for the video! Quick question, is the DJI Mic 2 compatible with most lavs? I have a rode and 2 Shure lavs but they don’t show up when I’m trying to record. Do I have to buy the DJI brand for recording to work or am I missing a step?
Yes it’s compatible with most, I just tested it with the rode lavs and they work
I recently bought a second transmitter so I could have 2 transmitters connected at the same time but I can only connect one of the transmitters to the receiver at one time. They both connect individually but not together. I’ve tried factory reset changing the Bluetooth, firmware update and nothing has worked. It seems the only way is to buy the DJI case which is a real shame
If I am using my Samsung A32 (android phone), do you still set up the audio parameters on the transmitter to a certain dB level or is it just set up to use with DSLR's?
super
Can we record automatically on emettor when camera rec is on ?
I find that the interlocking between functions to be rather banana skin like. If a microphone is recording, you can't change recording mode e.g. if 32 bit float is off, you can't switch it on. Likewise if your record button is locked and the device is recording, you need to remove lock or stop the recording from the receiver. Likewise if a microphone is recording, you can't format the memory in that microphone unless it's not recording. It's also not possible to lock-off the noise reduction, so if there's a quick press on a Mic's Power Button, that will switch on or switch off noise reduction. What great fun?
I think the rode sounds better. Which do you prefer ?
There’s a setting on DJI CALLED low cut when you turn it of it sounds so much more better
I am hoping you can help me out here. I need to run my Osmo pocket three for four hours straight. Will it continue to run if I plug my charger into the battery handle?
is it possible to start the recording on both mics at the same time?
Thanks . How do you get the internal recordings off the transmitters? thanks
You can plug them into a computer via USBC and they act as a typical SD card or thumb drive would
Thx Bo$$@@benjohnsoncreative
2 Questions one.. Does it have a MUTE anymore?? also if the RX is plugged into my iPhone with the USB-C will the sound work?
Yes!
Hi. Do you know if the transmitter can initiate mute on the mic 2?
