    Great video! Ihave been training my shiba puppy separately from his meals with about 5 treats for only 5 minutes once a day, but now you gave me an idea to include half of his meal with his training, so I can get more training in every day! So far all he knows is "sit" and "come".

      @aokiandanais  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So happy to read your comment Erik! Thanks for sharing - let me know if it works with your pup. Aoki is getting bored of his food so I might include more play/train sessions instead of food. That said, he's more food driven! haha! Check out our new vid tomorrow we're learning a new trick ;)

      Instead of come I taught mine when I say her name is for her to come to me, cause “come” anyone in the street can say and I don’t want her to go to strangers (and she’s too friendly so)

    I am noticing that he is not biting or jumping onto you while you are sitting on the floor, and this while your puppy at the nipping and jumping phase is. How did you train him not to bite or jump?

    • @aokiandanais
      @aokiandanais  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Aoki has always been good at not bitting furniture. He loves shredding tissue paper and are my cap once but other than that he was not interested at biting things.. I always made sure to put importance on his toys and divert his attention to them as much as I can!

    Socializing Shibas is the most important. If you are lucky they are social. My first Shiba was not social at all. My current Shiba is a social butterfly. She loves all dogs and people. Complete opposite to the first one.

    I know I’m late🥲, but I noticed you also have atleast one cat. I’m having my first dog ever in 2 weeks, which is also a shiba puppy. We also have 3 cats. One grew up with dogs in the house as a kitten.
    Your shiba looked calm in nature in the video as well.
    My question is how your shiba got along with the cat from beginning to now. And where to pay attention to maybe? The breeder already told us to not interfere when the cat is hissing or showing its boundaries to the puppy, because then the puppy won’t learn what the cats boundaries are.

    Hi, your video is fantastic. When you were training him at meal time, were you rewarding him with puppy food or was it treats? Also what time does it go to bed at night and what time does he wake up? Sorry but I’m picking up my puppy tomorrow and have been watching countless videos.

    Seems like you and Aoki have a great dynamic going! How old was he in this video/when you started training him? I got my Shiba at 8 weeks and he is now 12 weeks old. I started trying to train him at 10 weeks. So far (when he’s not distracted) I’ve taught him to sit, paw shake, and lay down. Having trouble getting him to learn stay and leave something. How did you go about training him to stay and leave things? Keep up the great vids!

      @aokiandanais  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I started training Aoki from day 1 😅 I invite you to go back and watch our first vids as it will show you the timeline and how it looked like then 😉 as for teaching him to leave it or stay, it is constant training and reinforcement even today!

    God Bless You ☺️🦊 He is adorable! I wish my tricolor pup Shiba was that agreeable! He's a Daddy's Boy! Puts up a fuss with everything for me! We've had several Shibas over the years, this one is by far the most stubborn. Still, I would not trade him for the World! Best Dogos Ever! Good Job!👍 (We have those same orange balls, very strong, durable). Harder to train with another older Shiba and a hound dog around. They All Like Treats!🙄

    Aoki is so cute!! I'm planning to get a Shiba around next year and I live in a condo/apartment - any tips on how to potty train a shiba pup in a condo before it's allowed to go out? (since it can only go out after it gets it's shots) Also, I heard that some shibas had trouble transitioning from a pee pad to outdoors - does Aoki use both or is he trained solely to go outside?

    • @aokiandanais
      @aokiandanais  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Tiff! Thanks so much for dropping a comment 🤎 Aoki is fully potty trained to go outside. I wouldn’t recommend using pee pads if you want puppy to go outside to potty (in the future) as it teaches them that doing their business inside is acceptable. Instead, I placed potty bells for him to ring when he needs to go. I find it works best for me :) I’ll explain in our new vid going live this Sunday! Make sure to catch it ;)

    Hi! How did Aoki respond to crate traininng? And when did you introduce? My shiba is 8 weeks right now and I have introduced him to a play pen and crate. I am letting him sleep in his crate beside me at night. He whines a little then goes to sleep after 5-10 minutes. Do you have any tips?

    • @aokiandanais
      @aokiandanais  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would always keep crate time for nap time and bedtime. I would suggest reinforcing the crate as a house with treats and toys. I’d be happy to make a video about it! :)

    Hello! How did you make Aoki to understand in the very first time, what 'high five', 'down' or 'shake' means? Sit is the easiest from my point of view. Many thanks for your answer! I like your videos!

    • @aokiandanais
      @aokiandanais  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Szilvia! So glad you like our vids! :) when teaching a new command I usually use a treat to lure him in position or initiate an action. For Down, I kept the treat stuck to the ground until he put himself in a down position then said « Down, Yes » to reinforce and associate the action to the word. Maybe I can do a vid about it :)

    When you walked him @ 1:22, did you already start his breakfast? And then continued the same breakfast around 9am inside (2:53)? Very clever to train with his food rather than treats!!and How did you potty train him so quickly? Amazing video! Thanks for answering my questions!🙏🏽😃

    • @aokiandanais
      @aokiandanais  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Adrish! Thanks for dropping a comment and gals to know that you liked our vid :)
      Yes I always start with his breaky (which he won’t finish by the time we get back in) then I use the same breakfast later in the a.m. now sometimes he eats more then other less depending on his mood and energy so that ok!! If he looses attention, I don’t persist to not cause frustration - I guess it depends on each dog / breed but mine is very feisty 😛 we are doing a potty training vid that’s going live this weekend. Sharing the one trick that worked well for us. Let us know your thoughts!

      Those baby teeth are sharp! Aoki’s nickname at the office is baby shark 😅 what I did is make a big « ouch » whenever he bit me (even by mistake/while playing) as they need to learn. Then walk away and stop playing… he still does it today but it’s started to phase out slowly. It’s a work in progress! They explore the world with their mouth so it’s very natural to them. Hope that helps!
