His renditions of even his own classics are amazing. He could take something already great and perform it in an all new light. I miss this so much. 3rd Eye Girl was so damn cool. The music he was writing was next level. I enjoyed (enjoying) AOA, Plectrum and the tours so much. We were robbed :(

I think he had an issue with things being released while he was alive. He had to know that a lot of this material would be released after he passed. It's simply too good. I can't imagine anyone believing that he expected this stuff to never see the light of day. I would have felt extremely cheated if I never heard how good the Welcome 2 America album was.
The one thing Prince wanted definitely for after he passed was for Paisley to be turned into a museum showcasing his life and all of his music. Music was his life. I sure hope it goes on forever. Everyone go there. He is there in spirit.

When 1999 came out, this song was in keeping with the whole dark, smoky, voyeuristic vibe of it. My favorite album, it really was a masterpiece.
