Manufacturer support and serviceability is huge and needs to be considered when buying a high end bike like these. Santa Cruz has the support down, they’re awesome and take care of their customers. Also, there are lots of dealers around so if you need service you can usually get to a local bike shop. Love my new Tallboy!!

Jason, totally agree with you on the Tallboy's "deep feeling". It feels like it's more than 120mm of travel, it's strange because the Hightower doesn't give me that feeling. One thing I would also say is the warranty on a Santa Cruz bike is beyond phenomenal! One of these days I'll have to tell you a little story of my first hand experience with them. I know they have this mystique about their warranty but I can totally say its true.

Great comparison! I really like these newer geometry short/mid travel trail bikes. I have yet to ride anything on the new Tallboy that i felt under gunned compared to a OG Hightower (or similar travel) bike.

Waiting on your review of the Revel Ranger
My only concern with direct-to-consumer bikes are fitting. I bought a Commencal Meta HT and it was absolutely great. But the sizing barely fit me and I should've sized down. I'd definitely do direct-to-consumer again, but I at least need a means to demo it locally to be certain of the fit.

I do really like the Propain, but I already have my eyes on the new SB115.
