    A lot of lifetime warranties... even the bearings which is pretty cool

      Yeah they properly threw a challenge down to the rest of the industry with the wheel thing and more and more brands are now doing lifetime frame warranties to keep up with SC. Pretty sure Whyte were the first brand to offer lifetime warranty on bearings though

    Great review… I just ordered this bike. Is the helmet you’re wearing the Manifest model? Thanks

      Glad it was useful Troy. I was wearing a Giro Manifest helmet for the video. Not cheap but a great helmet and the ventilation is amazing considering the extra MIPS Spherical protection.

    With those roller bearings at the other end of the rear shock, I suppose you’d have to remove them in order to get the air sleeve service done? That would make a simple job quite a lot more difficult and more expensive too if you can’t use the existing bearings after removal?

      I'll double check but my understanding is that they pop out and back in relatively easily. Changing the geometry chip without removing the linkage is a nightmare though.

    Hi what is your height, and would you recommend the large for a 6’0

    • @GuyKesTV

      Hi Kaneda, I’m 5 11 and large is ideal for me 👍🏻

    If you could own one bike - a tallboy or a Hightower… which way would you go?

    • @GuyKesTV

      Sorry for the delay dude. Hightower without question. Way more versatile, climbs better on tech and you can easily dump weight/increase rolling speed to make it Tallboy 'XC fast'.

      think it was a 50

    The weight, it´s just stupid. Plain and simple, there is no justice for so much weight.

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it is strong enough for a lifetime warranty and frame weight is similar to Yeti SB-120 etc. but yeah double the frame weight of an Epic Evo for example

    • @Alexspeeed
      @Alexspeeed ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GuyKesTV Yeah, companies don´t want too much warrenty claims, but in my opinion this is a walk back in time, where CC Bikes had 14 kg.
      A few years ago this bike weights only 11 kg and now 14 kg. This is hilarious. It´s not only insane, it´s not acceptable for me and many others.
      For this price it´s absolutly not worth and I hope Santa Cruz will see it sometimes in the future.
      But I also see that the world gets dumber and dumber and the new generation just buys everything without having knowledge or sense about anything.

      @@Alexspeeed yup, that’s why all my riding mates are still on Tallboy 3 or looking at the Blur 120. Everything ‘trail’ (frames, wheels, tyres, forks) is now built like a DH frame from a few years ago!

  • @andrewk8227

    Tallboy 5 or the new Yeti SB120?

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What sort of riding do you do Andrew and are you looking for smoothness and traction or a more Rally car feel?

    • @andrewk8227
      @andrewk8227 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GuyKesTV smoothness and traction. So, I'm guessing you're pointing me towards the Tallboy. Right?

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrewk8227 actually no. The bigger downtube on the Tallboy 5 makes it super stiff and the bar is really rigid too. Plus the suspension can really slap over chunkier stuff so it struggles for traction on tech climbs. Amazing bike for groomed pump and jump trails but punishing elsewhere. Yeti is much smoother and grippier up everything but still has a real spark when you press the pedals. Plus if you want it firmer for flow trails you can just dial in some compression. Hope that helps 👍🏻

      @@GuyKesTV You say the bars are stiff here, do they feel different to the 35mm rise ones which you liked on the Hightower.
      I’ve just got the 35mm SC bars and was thinking the 20mm version might be better as I’ll have more usable adjustment range

    Thanks Guy. I'm in the middle of building a v5 tallboy. Also ride a 2016 5010 so hoping for a much more efficient bike for longer rides and long distance bike packing.
    Should have it finished next month so pretty excited. Thanks for the vid. 🙂

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That'll be a great pair of bikes David. Tallboy 5 is definitely a lot more efficient when it comes to cover distance and hauling kit with purpose. You'll be able to stuff plenty in that massive downtube too!

      @@GuyKesTV I'm riding the GB Divide next year so wanted a much more efficient bike for that. We also like to take the bags off the bikes and do some 'proper' mountain biking too. Typically do long trips in Scotland but not as much as I'd like as I live in West Cornwall.
      Thanks for the advice and hope you have a fulfilling year. 🙂

      @@david-pascoe cheers chap, you too. Good luck with the Divide and enjoy West Cornwall. Really enjoyed exploring there when writing up the guidebook for the Cycling UK West Kernow route.
