Wow your teaching has been really effective for me and I’ve been getting better at drawing cats every day with noticeable improvements. Now I know where to look when I’m studying animals.
I'm happy to read this! The animations surely took me long enough to make. (By the way, it's some kind of albino mink, not a squirrel. That's why I chose it as a mascot ;3)
The Loaf, LOL! I thought I was the only one to think of that pose as a loaf. Glad other kitty lovers see cats in the same way. Thank you for your illustrations! Wonderful!
Hahah, you are far from the only person who thinks so. To demonstrate, here is a whole subreddit just with cat loaf pictures. Enjoy www.reddit.com/r/Catloaf/ And I'm glad you liked the video
I really like how you explain the poses, it reminds me of the artist Aaron Blaise. He also not only shows how a pose is drawn but also explains why the animal is e.g. sitting like this or the muscle structure is like that. The different drawing stages are also a big help, too! I don't know why but I have a hard time drawing a cat's face due to the mouth section... can't explain why but it always turns out strange, haha. I am looking forward to your next video =)
Oh, that is a comparison I never heard, hahah! Even though it doesn't feel right to me to be compared with somebody of that amount of experience and knowledge. I still have so much to learn... But I am glad that my way of explaining is helpful to you! And yeah, to be honest, the mouth part is still problematic to me too. I guess I still need more practice. Well, thank you a lot for your nice comment~
Yea, I feel like it’s very important and helpful when you’re making a tutorial to explain why something is happening because you actually know what you’re doing and that’s important for a lot of things, for example it means you can expand your ability more on your own because you understand how it works, and it’s also just very important to understand what you’re doing and why
I'm always glad to be of help! Oh cool! That is the first time that somebody told me they use my tutorials for designing jewelry! Really awesome! Hope that it will turn out greatly~
I know you made this 4 years ago but just finding out your channel!! I love my two kitties so much and want to draw them. This brought me to your wonderful channel. Thank you!
You deserve more than 2k Subs And I love all of these poses and cats it’s Unique and it looks like the cat came to life It shows so much expression in the face and pose I’m trying to draw cats of my own I’m a really young artist mostly I’m 9 And I’m trying to to draw warrior cats (cats in the wild) This was helpful
I just discovered your delightful videos on how to draw cats. I loved watching them and return to watch again and practice. Are you still doing videos?
I'm glad that you enjoyed my cat tutorial videos! And yes, I am still making videos! I'm actually thinking about making some more short cat tutorials, together with my ongoing series.
@@Mink-tDR Is that a gray cat watching you draw in the videos? I don't understand the round ears. I have a tuxedo cat! The anatomy details are helpful.
Hmm, I am not aware of any noticeable differences between male and female cats in terms of basic anatomy. Except for the reproductive organs, of course :P However, certain fur color patterns are more common or even almost exclusive to either male or female cats. For example calico cats are almost only female, while most orange cats are male. Here's a little overview I found: zoonerdy.com/which-gender-of-cats-are-typically-associated-with-specific-colors/
@@Mink-tDR I think it is possible to recognize them using styles like giving female cats more round eyes or those "eyelashes," I don't know how this corner of their eye called. But still, thanks for the more anatomical answer! So in general, it's a matter of style.
@@Naxify. Well yeah, if you are not drawing in a realistic style, then you can assign traits that are typically associated with "masculine" and "feminine", as you said. The eyes are a big part. The body shape (slender and curvy vs. broad and boxy). The posing, the expressions, etc... That way you could even distinguish characters that are based on objects, like let's say you have a "Mr. Lamp" and "Ms. Lamp". If you also want to include non-binary characters, it might become a bit more complicated.
The program I draw with is Clip Studio Paint. This answer is also in my FAQ: docs.google.com/document/d/1dmLulFPcmtoWUtPAXstPIIVe_fINpD13FF55IPBLRqY/edit?usp=sharing
