I actually love how they made it .. great for beginners as long as you don’t flash it .. and once you get comfortable you get it flash and there you go .. no need to up grade.. I also feel this bike needs a damper a must have
@@ScoutsOut both of you need to stop simping for Kawasaki and the bullshit CARB regulations. If you want a low-powered starter bike, get the Ninja 400. Instead now we have to waste time, money, and void our warranty because hypocrites that fly around in private jets enact bullshit laws.
Thanks man, hopefully I get the flash soon. I just did a 0-120 run on the 4rr and it was like 19 seconds and the r7 was 13 seconds. I'm excited to see how much the unrestricted tune does
I had no idea you also had an rc390! I was going to downsize from a 890 Duke R to an rc390 for riding my local track. However, I couldn’t find a new one! Then I got very lucky and found a zx4rr. I like how the rc390 is all business for the track BUT the 4rr has been great to me! Mine is all stock except for getting a flash tune from 2 Wheel DynoWorks. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
Someone at the track was telling me how a custom tune is the way to go vs a 0:01 flash tune. It would be cool to see a comparison of flash vs custom tune. I’m waiting to decide on an exhaust once I hear more what exhaust is best for power-maybe I’ll do a custom tune but I’m not sure yet.
The unrestricted tune is no where near as good as a custom tune for sure. The unrestricted will not adjust air fuel rations at all so you will not gain extra power. The unrestricted tune will take away the throttle restriction the 4rr has, it will let you drop some engine breaking and change when you cooling fans turn on but that's about it To get real power out of the bike a custom tune is best
@@ScoutsOut about 2 months LOL. Bought it with 600 miles and it has 2200 on it now i was always in love with the zx25r but was always over sea. The zx4rr has twice the power of my mt03. And that i4 sound is insane. Perfect bike for me man
I’m thinking about this bike. It reminds me so much of a two stroke, but I already ride an mt07 which is super playful so I’m thinking I would get tired of this quick I might jest get an older 600 so it’s not as crazy.
I wonder what your thoughts are on a steering damper for this bike or just in general...do you have one on any other bikes (is it standard on a Tuono)? I don't agree with the ECU top end power cap being a good thing, it's not a B-mode/Rain-mode. Good during break-in and that's about it.
I think they are a great idea and will probly buy one for the 4rr. The tuono didn't come with one but that would have been cool Yea I agree it's not a good thing by any means just trying to find a positive out of that crappy situation
My main topic of interest is on a track or a specific twisty canyon road which bike can you ride faster for a lap time or point A to point B twisty road time that would be interesting. Sometimes what feels fast is slower and vice versa. For example a 1K feels like you are flying on a track but you are probably actually faster on a smaller bike time wise for average sport riders. What's the happy center 1K vs Ninja 250 the gap is too big the 250 is too slow on the straights but a 600 vs 1K that's a situation the smaller bike is most likely faster for average sport riders. The 400 vs R7 might be that middle ground where they are possibly a dead even match time wise it would be interesting to know. 🤙
Good point bro, I know in a straight line the two bikes as is, the r7 is faster but I feel on the twisties the 4rr is faster. A test between the two would be cool. I might just have to set that up 🤙🏼
I think its just a matter of time until the other japanese manufacturers jump on board, already you have the chinese brand coming with one in the Kove 450rr.
How does it handle on rougher roads w/ 160 vs 180 rear tires? Where I live there are lots of logging trucks so the roads have tire indentations. Also b/c I live in Oregon, there is lots of rain and some erosion on the roads, and also b/c the United States infrastructure score is a D- lol.
@@ScoutsOut Thanks for responding to all of my questions regarding this bike. I am considering getting this as my as my first bike. It's this or the 2024 ZX6R. Sounds like it has good enough suspension for my needs, and I am only 6 ft. ~160-172 lbs. I am 172 lbs when I am in absolute peak physical form b/c I am an amateur bodybuilder, so the suspension sounds very much adequate for my body weight. I am still considering the ZX6R b/c of what you said about the awkward position of the foot pegs. It's not really a big deal b/c I'm going to hop on both motorcycles at the dealership.
Hmm I'm pretty sure my 2018 636 maxed out at 164 but I personally don't care about top end speed especially on these little bikes, I'd fall asleep before they got to top end lol
