Thx for the video this is what i was looking for as a new player in tekken , all other videos say bf 4+1 and other shet that i dont understand seeing the inputs in the screen actually helps
@@chilledchupacabra5317 even after the nerf, i still use the 2,1, sneak 3, fc df 1 4, into mixups to get my opponent to the wall. at the wall, pressure with b 1+2, running 2, or the mix up above, use it with his grabs, db 3+4, and check them with 1 1, df1, or d2. more aggression with players who dont sidestep or are very defensive, for players who keep pressing buttons use frametraps and take advantage of his various armor moves. i keep my distance and whiff punish with snk 1, df2 or b43.
He's very easy to counter if you're a good defensive player. The issue is that not a lot of players learn defense, specific punishes, side step timings, etc. It doesn't help that defense is just harder in this game. I'm wiping players that are higher ranked than me simply because I know how to use Dragunov, even if I barely know anything about their character. So he seems incredibly broken. Even over the span of 3 games, when people start adjusting, he just has so much going that he can very easily just switch up his game plan and approach with high pressure from a different set of moves and take home the win.
Tbh I've heard the same thing for a lot of characters by now (Bryan, Jack, Jin), it might just be the game itself to be overtuned like Tekken 5. Anyway we will get an answer with the next tournaments
I cannot figure out how to sneak cancel the while crouch d/f 1, 4. U do not just side step with it I’ve tried that. Or am I doing something wrong? Any tips?
The timing on FC d/f+1, 4 is a bit different form the other sneak cancels, you need to wait a little bit longer than usual before tapping up. Tap up only when Drag Is actually performing the sneak motion otherwise It wont register
I think you are getting a f, f+2 (Russian Sickle) instead of a f, f, f+2 (Russian Assault). Russian Assault Is +6 on block while Russian Sickle is actually punishable at -12 but they have a very similar animation so it's easy to get confused
People overhyped Drag in T7 S1 aswell just because JDCR was doing good in tournaments. Meanwhile Jin could launch you with CH db4 and Kazumi was able to punish Deathfist with df1, 2
Yep it pisses me off. This happened in T7. The character is a great design, people choose him so you naturally see more Dragunov’s and so of course you then think he’s too powerful bcos you’re playing so many of them, meanwhile other characters are stronger but people are less interested by them so they go under the radar. Then Drag gets nerfed and becomes garbage. After Season 1 in T7 he never recovered, he was the complete opposite of the game’s meta.
yeah he can just do a couple of moves that ends in +, he has always the same mixup, he is very limited, he is fun to play but he is so far from being OP @@PacketOfCereal
If you ever play against a good drag player, it is extremely difficult to get your turn back. You really have to know the matchup or else drag will cook yo ass into frame advantage oblivion. I haven’t spent enough time with the game to call him op but he is no doubt one of the strongest characters in tekken 8
this is a good video paced way to fast; you don't really give time to digest information leading to the need for constant pausing. it would also benefit to give more examples of when each move is optimal. this video could be great but is currently at best a resource for refining dragonov play rather than a starting point.

Best drag guide on yt so far
Great vid, dragunov has more going on than i thought he did
i just started to pick up dragunov, this will help me a lot.
Great guide to introduce the character and showcase best moves! Great work. Please consider doing Steve or Raven
You can also use f4,3 as i14 punish if you need a little bit more damage
Thank you for the guide!
Thank you i might be able to make it out of cyan ranks now
just reached red rank with dragunov, great video bro!

Excellent guide, very well done! Just subbed. What does pb mean in -15 pb?
It means "pushback", you should only use it in case d/f+2 (scimitar) doesn't reach
@@thatredcomet Thank you!
nice stuff dude thank you!
We need more guides like this! Like + sub
Thanks, now i know a lot more
you did a great job, keep it up.
I demand a 40mins+ in-depth guide please 😜
Best one, and İ watched 5+ others
Biggest nerf Drag got this game
Russian Assault --> Russian Hook Special

Yes, he’s Bamco is definitely destroying this dude next patch. He feels very overturned and it was way easier to climb with him.

Great stuff, was waiting for something like this!
Amazing guide omg
Wonderful, thank you
Super nice!
Superb video, but the way you displayed the inputs was really confusing. Specifically the colors.
That's the color pattern of the PS4 (Pink = Square, Green = Triangle, Red= Circle, Blue= Cross)
The annotation for the face buttons are very strange, im used to the face button that needs to be pressed being white, not greyed out
Yeah I’m confused. Sometimes they’re colored too?
That was great
Do a guide for Paul

can you tell us how to do these combos next plz?
There is a combo guide on my channel
He’s about to get nerfed now that he has the 2nd highest pick rate rip 😢

is russian assault really plus? every time i try and do a string after i just get countered. am i inputting it wrong?
