Are you having trouble to apply hellsweep? In general these types of mix-ups are hard to use in low level where people will immediately press buttons as soon as they get a chance. If that's the case it's better to focus on quick CH tools, movements and keep outs and only use Hellsweep after a knock down or if the opponent is becoming hesitant to approach you.
You mean the star in his crouch dash attacks like Wind God Fist? It means "neutral". You press f then release the stick or raise the thumb from the pad and press d, d/f. It's listed like this in the movelist aswell, It's a legacy thing
Thanks. Demon Paw and Hellsweep feeling clunky is unfortunate and I hope they get improved, but I do find this character very appealing. Thanks for the guide!
