I couldn’t help but giggle when I noticed our host couldn’t hold back a smile when commenting on the Fujian navy making another mistake, with another brand new boat.
Someone I know whose there right now went by the boat this afternoon and told me it is definitely M/Y Loon's chase boat. I hope that eveyone makes a full recovery.
@wargor Probably will be a while while the gendarmes investigate then the insurance investigates etc. On saturday they moved loon from the main area of anchoring to a more remote spot nearby.
Reliable source… Captain was driving the tender and according to eye witnesses on a nearby beach, where they left from, the tender was in a ‘party mood’. All 11 onboard were crew. Miracle no one was killed. I think you may see a new captain on Loon!
Tragic incident if that’s the truth of what occurred, complacency and fun may have taken over the responsibility of boat and crew. It’s an awful outcome for whoever was onboard. Let’s hope injures are minor for all involved. Yes I know a woman was transferred to hospital for treatment, I hope she recovers well.
I follow Motor Yacht Loon on TH-cam, and it's great content. This could change everything if this is them. That skiff does look like the model they use. 😞 Hopefully the lady injured recovers quickly, and fully. Happy Holidays everyone.

Speedy recovery to all involved.
Don’t know if you’ve ever watched MY Loon’s channel or not but I thought Captain Paul ran a tighter ship than that. I guess if it was indeed T/T Loon on the rocks there will be some crew changes.

we had similar event in Harbor Springs Mi. 3:00 am crash into break wall in Petoskey a city south of harbor springs. two passengers landed on the break wall over the bow.
After going back and looking at the tender for the Loon, they do not appear to match. The one shown on the rocks appears to have solar panels on the roof. A recent video of the tender they use in the Caribbean does not appear to have the solar panels. I hope I am right because I love their videos.
Guessing 2 engines were knocked off by rocks. Photo of tender leaving beach shows 4. Also, all Loon social media has been quiet since crash, which is extremely odd for Instagram.
Alcohol and water don't mix so well obviously. I remember a British sailing vessel moored in Marmaris, Turkje while I was there. It burned taking two other boats moored alongside with it. It was later found the owner and only crew had a few too many and decided to put the frying pan on before falling asleep. It cost him his life and the loss of three boats.
Amazed and Surprised that MY Nord actually went where she said! And then turned the AIS back on. Guess there are big changes going on in the world. As far as the yacht crashing into the cruise ship, I totally agree there had to be some sort of catastrophic equipment failure. Wondering about built-in reduncancy on many of those systems, about which I know next to nothing.

How is it that this is the only channel reporting on the Loon tender crash? 🤔 No updates on the Loon YT channel and the livestream did not happen either. Absolutely no updates from them at all. If this was them then someone is going to have to be held accountable. Very disappointing from them as they always show(ed) professionalism and safety. It's the quiet from them that is bugging me. 12/25/2024 at 3:18am (Eastern time) the AIS shows Loon currently anchored in St. Maarten.
