    My girlfriend, kids and I went to a vintage motocross race in 1992 in Hollister, Ca. Dick Mann and Kay Mann let us take a picture of them. He was a great champion and man..

    I grew up with British bikes and bikes like this help me relive my youth. There is something about a British vertical twin that modern bikes can't offer. The low reving pushrod torque motors of yesteryear led to where we are today. Can't stop drooling over Triumph's right side crankcase covers, best looking in all of motorcycling!😁

    What you are imparting here on your channel is no dog and pony show. Every week you are serving up meat and potatoes!
    . It’s obvious the love love that was poured into the construction of this fetching machine. A testament to Dick.
    Thank you this is such a great series.

    Excuse typo: Matisse. Arthritis that now impedes my throttle hand.

    I agree with you on front fender mounting. My DBD Goldie scrambler, Matchess Matisse and Triumph 500 Matisse wor their fenders on the forks although the Matisse set up was via two jubilee clips holding the fender.
    You put out nice videos with interesting bikes that prompt my memories from years ago

    Absolutely loved the Mikuni comment!
    Glad you mentioned the footpeg arrangement. I noticed it right away, and have never seen that method before.
    Years ago, I rode my bud's Norton with that shift pattern. Was going into 4th, and banged it into 2nd. Luckily not going tooooo fast.

    Thanks for this video. I raced motocross in the early 90s and have had bikes as old as a 74 but don't know much about the bikes before that. It's nice to learn more about the early bikes built for motocross.

    Mated to that BSA gearbox is a primary transmission case from the same company. Probably so chosen to accept the size of the BSA clutch assembly. Fine looking machine.

    Drop-dead looking and sounding bike. I still prefer the old conjunction name for BSA/Triumph mixes, though: Beezumph.

    Metisse is correct spelling chosen because it’s French for mongrel.

    • @pabloricardodetarragon2649
      @pabloricardodetarragon2649 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Metisse is the feminin of métis, un mix of black and white people, the word cames from the name of a high quality cloth made with cotton and linen, mostly used for bed sheets and shirts.
      Mongrel in french is "bâtard"; and the term may be pretty pejorative, rather used for dogs and people you do not like or despise.

    He made a frame that was so good Harley Davidson had it banned. HD at the time controled the AMA.
