    It amazes me that Uber won't show us where the passenger is going prior to pickup. You could be going 2 miles or 20. We have a right to know where it's going

      I drive around the Purdue campus area and my first day I got a uberxl ride to Chicago airport. That would have been good to know.

    When u guys get the Uber ride then simply close ur internet wifi or mobile data and start ur ride and u will see ur customer locations and after that if u want to head towards ur uber rider then simply just force stop ur uber driver located in the setting{application} and after that open ur internet mobile data or wifi and open or restart Uber driver and u would be on the same spot to the rider pickup location page ... And this way u don't have to waste ur time asking passengers where they want to go ! Thanks

    I was told by UBER that if you call or text pax to ask what thier destination is you will get deactivated if the pax reports it. And since the texting is done through the UBER app, they can see the texts. And drivers who call or text multiple pax while working are investigated to find out why they are contacting every passenger. If you don't believe me, I can show the support message where I asked UBER directly and they said it's "against thier policy for a partner to contact a rider to find out his/her destination before the trip begins" (direct quote from support message)

      thats fine and i can tell you that all of my passengers do not mind it
      ive been doing it for months and have not been deactivated at all
      this is advice you can take or leave
      i have a right to know where im going vs being led blindly
      i dont turn down rides based off the info

      drivingwithchristian It is against UBER policy. It's wrong, and you're advising other UBER drivers to do it.

    This is very informative. I can see how tips and 5 star ratings would come into play. You are actually doing public relations, which is great. I'm sure texting before hand is very helpful. Riding with someone you don't know can be awkward so this was a great video with great infornation😊!

    Christian, I am experiencing a situation perhaps experienced by other drivers. Twice a day, prior to lunch and the end of my shift, a passenger is aboard and my intentions are to deliver the passenger and either eat or go home. While en route to the onboard passenger's destination the requests for trips are flashing on my screen. Either I actively decline or let the trip request expire. I suspect it is hurting my acceptance rate.
    How does one signal UBER that I am on my final trip so the acceptance rate is not adversely affected?

    Interesting. I agree with you. Communication goes a long way. I would suggest two things:
    1. The message you presented does sound a bit formulaic (and would easily be misunderstood as an automatic computer generated text).
    2. I would get around the "canned" feel of the message by splitting it in two (putting a SHORT personalized introduction (or closing) before (or after) your main message.
    Computerized messages rarely come in pairs. The two messages will give the person time to think about your messages(s) -- once they received the second message. Usually, people are rushing without really thinking. Once they know "a car is on the way", people will turn their minds to something else. They will just assume that the "program" will handle details like directions.
    I hope this suggestion helps.👍🤓

      @drivingwithchristian  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I want to first thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment I really appreciate it.
      A lot of times I will add their first name in the text message as I am sending it to give it a personal feel. They tend to respond more when I put their first name in it.
      I just send one text because some carriers break the text message that I do send into 3 separate messages and sometimes the pax tell me about it
      When I do arrive if they’re not outside I text them IM HERE
      THANKS AGAIN!

    You will get deactivated this way it takes one or two guys to report you and they will kick you out.
    Drivers are just numbers to uber they can replace anyone at anytime without hesitation as there is no union and most don’t know the law or even the English language
    Only way to ask where someone wants to go is if it’s a long distance trip and the app is showing it which uber might tolerate that to an extent
    They are brutal now with drivers as they got plenty

      so please tell me where in the driver tos or pax tos where it says the driver is not suppose to contact the pax to see where they're going...when you answer, please provide screen shots of the EXACT wording then email me at drivingwithchristian at gmail dot com
      you have to bring a real reason why they would get mad
      from my experience they're happy their driver contacted them
      but ill wait for your response ACE

    This whole video is pointless. Why run the risk of being deactivated just to have the info of where the passenger is going unless the REAL reason is to cancel the ride if it is going somewhere you don't want to go. Let's keep it 100. That's your true motivation, not to establish rapport with the customer. Haha. PLEASE! Give me a break!! Keep doing that and one of these days it is going to come back to bite you.

    • @drivingwithchristian
      @drivingwithchristian  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fact you put this much into your reply on what you feel I am wrong about is pointless. I’ve never given this much energy to anything that I do not agree with. Let’s keep it 100, the true nature on why I made this video is to share valuable information. Let’s keep it 200, you’re just mad you didn’t think of this to share. Let’s keep it 300, uber is a digital service, which monitors everything. They read the texts between drivers & pax, so if it was something so malicious they would have deactivated me already. Let’s keep it 400, I have had complimentary notes left on my feedback from pax saying how they liked the message I sent before I arrived. If Uber doesn’t have an issue with it and most important the pax doesn’t have an issue with it, it’s very pointless for you to have one. Give everyone a break because that hate in your blood will come back to eat you alive. You can’t speak against good and expect a positive outcome. It’s natural law of creation.

      @TheKaybjay2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Driving With Christian - What makes you think that I needed to put a lot of effort into my reply? I peeped your true intent right from the start. What you are suggesting is the equivalent of riding in a car with no seat belts nor air bags. You might be fine until the day you go flying through the windshield. We all would like to have destination information and I watched this video because I thought you had discovered a technical way of determining the passenger destination prior to acceptance or after acceptance while within proximity to the pickup location. Obviously that was not the case because you are getting the passenger involved. Once you do that, you are playing with fire. I don't care how many customers commended you for this tactic. All it takes is one to report you and you are done. You know what I am saying is true.

    • @drivingwithchristian
      @drivingwithchristian  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look how much time you’re putting into this. This is why I noticed all of your effort you’re putting into this. You have no care for my well being. You just want to be right and want me to listen to you. You’re not telling me anything new. You’re not telling me anything that could help. Your analogy of not wearing seatbelts when it comes to this does not connect. If I am in the wrong according to you, since you are God and you look on the heart like the almighty, then bring a solution to my wrong. Don’t attempt a scare tactic that will not work. Come with a real solution. Make sure it’s tried and tested and your pax as well as other Uber drivers have subscribed to your doctrine. Make a video and leave comments open to see how people really feel about your theory. Until then, all this back and forth is pointless. You said your peace and on how you don’t agree with my practice and that’s fine. I told you how I felt, and that should be fine. End of story.

    • @TheKaybjay2
      @TheKaybjay2 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Driving With Christian - Obviously you don't take criticism well. You just wrote a book there. I noticed you reacted the same way to the other person who said basically the same thing I said. I won't respond to all of the fluff you wrote because it is irrelevant. The bottom line is that what you suggest is against Uber's policy and if you get caught, you (and anyone else who wants to take your advice) will be deactivated.

    • @drivingwithchristian
      @drivingwithchristian  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you read what other people wrote you would understand that your comment has already been stated so that’s why I said you’re not telling me anything new
      You won’t respond to everything because you can’t and won’t do what I suggested it is that’s needed for help
      You’re talking in theory of deactivation
      I can prove to you with evidence that my pax approve but you say you don’t care about that. I don’t drive for you. I drive for pax and myself.

    • @drivingwithchristian
      @drivingwithchristian  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That’s “your” POV
      I’ve had plenty of pax side with me and say when they get in the car how they thought we could see their final destination
      They let me know all the time how the app should show it on our end
      If food delivery apps can do it why not human delivery apps????
