Patrick, you out class all sakes people i have seen on TH-cam. Straight forward product demonstration, great product knowledge, and a non salesey kind of delivery. Thanks.
Best walk throughs in the business. After I get my wife through her cancer recovery it's a lifestyle myself and my daughter are looking at. only God can grant us the wish that mom and wife comes along. Good video
Thank you for the great walk through! Went to RV show in Atlanta this weekend. Chatted with sales guy from Airstream. We told him they should pay you extra commission for all the great walk throughs you do! He said you have over 1 million views and I was not surprised.
Patrick you did a wonderful job on this walk-a-round. Not an easy thing to do, filming with one hand and demonstaringing with the other. Great product knowledge, hitting all the sales points without sounding like a "salesman" if you know what I mean. And no motion sickness form camera movement ha ha. Really a job well done. Thanks!
I apologize for my earlier comment on the camera movement. This is the best product demo I have ever seen. Notable is that you had never assembled the table before, so we get a real-world idea of what it would be like for us.
Great video! I absolutely love that you do complete walk-throughs. This is so helpful and prevents me from having to rush over to my nearest Airstream dealer, which is about 5 hours away from me. Even then, I doubt the sales people would do a quality walk through like this. This video really helps me have a better understanding of travel trailers as I am researching to hopefully buy my first one in the near future. Nice job!! :)
You are buying quality. The resale value will also stand the test of time. Any info on the gauge or thickness, etc. on the tent accessories? Any videos when set up? Thank you for all the great info!
Great video as always, Patrick! Saw this at the show. We were going to come say hello but you were busy with customers. Hope you made a lot of sales. Thanks for putting so much detail into your tours. Great product.
Love the Basecamp! I am the owner of 2010 23' FB Flying Cloud. Looking to upgrade to 25' or 27' in the next year or two. Love your inventory. Excellent presentation, as usual. I watch each year to see what is new. Love that new Pendleton limited edition trailer. My dream!!!
Great informative video - you clearly know this trailer well and did a good job sharing that knowledge. I saw one of the Basecamps a few days ago and really like it. The original basecamp was nice, but the lack of toilet and shower made it a non-starter for me. This new model is more of what I want as someone who isn't in to the leather seats and fancy countertops - this is more aligned with what I want. One of these stretched by 2-3 feet to add some storage space would be clutch! The price is significant, but the quality is there. If people don't like the price or think it isn't justified, don't buy this. This is probably what we will get.
Patrick, you are a wonderful salesman. Loved your video-very informative. I know nothing about Airstream. Perhaps I am not current with the camping world but that is "Somebody elses"world at that cost!!! Wow!!!!
Great job with the walk-through. Very impressive trailer. Well designed with efficient and thorough use of space. This is a winning combination of design, function and durable construction.
Patrick, this is by far the most thorough and comprehensive presentation of anything I have reviewed on TH-cam. What a fantastic presentation! Your employer should sit up and take notice. Give this gentleman a raise and a promotion. Anyone watching this should use it as a training tool and example for their own sales staff! Two questions. Does it have a heater? Do you think my 2015 2dr, Jeep wrangler could tow it. If so, lets start the paperwork! Thanks much. Dustin Morrison. Southern California.
Fantastic walkthrough. We have one reserved which will hopefully arrive in December, but haven't seen one in person yet. Your tour really gave us a good feel for what to expect when we see it. Very excited!!
I have been to Colonial, the nicest people and place you will visit! Patrick you have the most informative videos on RV'S on TH-cam bar none! This basecamp looks promising, wish the MSRP wasn't so expensive. Love this one BIGTIME! Would Go prefect with my Wrangler Sahara!
Fantastic video Patrick ! I'd suggest adding a collapsible seat and/or countertop on the lateral door as an option. While closed, it could give a little extra comfort to this great new Basecamp.
Agreed, amazing and awesome looking, but I was hoping it would be closer to 20k. For another 5k, you can get a 16' sport that sleeps three. I just hope, for that price, it holds up to Airstream quality and value over time.
Good job Mr. Patrick. I have watched several of your video walk-throughs and you really help me understand the beauty and quality of Airstream product. :-)
What a well thought out little trailer. My only critique is the lack of clothes storage without removing the bench cushions, no cable/ option for an antennae TV otherwise very nice.
Very cool. I love the idea of having a bed that is over 6' wide. The comparable Airstream 16' Sport Bambi only has a 48" wide bed (the same as our 13' boler). Keep up the great videos - look forward to more :-)
excellent video as always. I was thinking of getting a 16J Sport but I really like the tent options on this one. need to find one to look at in person.
Great video as usual Patrick! Does the thermostat only control the heat or both heat and A/C? Any idea when you'll have the more detailed walk through?
I just bought one partly based on your review. Went camping in it over the weekend. Only problem is the table tops became stuck on the legs after sleeping on it. Could not get it off and is in the shop now. Have you heard of this problem? This may be a design flaw that airstream may need to address going forward.
Thnaks for watching. We have yet to hear of this challenge. I am sure your selling dealer will make the necessary adjustments so the legs can come detached.
Im enjoying your reviews on Airstream, i watched all. Wondering if you have measurement on the bed, i want to see if we can all fit in (2 adults, kids are 9 and 12) one bed. It seem like enough space. Im considering this for weekend getaway only not more than 3 days trip. Many thanks
PROS: Its a great weekender, possibly the best. Very appealing comfort and utility for its design. I could see a week or even two exploring vacation, just take extra water and food/cooler in your small SUV or pickup. I'd get the extra AGM battery and explore better solar options. Getting older so I'd have dealer install electric trailer jack. Its a very cool well built product - a dream of possibilities if you like to get out and about. Sadly it won't carry my Harley, but I could fit a BMW or Honda, plus a kayak and a bicycle or two. I dig it. ATV in the pickup... lol. Dream big think big! CONS: I especially don't like the cheap sink combo, I'd retrofit a real stainless sink with cutting board and faucet on the counter top. Prefer a convection microwave but probably have to do some cabinet work. Rear door inhibits loading larger items (like a motorcycle), although I understand why they did it. Tents are really not that appealing. Not good in any wind, not mosquito proof that I can see. Forget the side tent especially, I would hope someone like Kelty builds a real rear tent design. One pop up charger on the r side counter is enough (nit pick)
This is a more informative walkthrough than the company who got my money when buying my airstream. I need to lock my shower or the water leaks out although it looks like it shouldn’t. I’ve also lost my storage under the couch that was supposed to be spare as I seem to have the battery in there rather than under the kitchen cupboard. So no space under either couches.
Great video amongst so many bad RV videos - well done! It's an impressive trailer competing in an ever-expanding market. I don't understand why Airstream wasted so much room with two doors when there is so little storage available inside. Also, why did they not add the deadbolt like they have on other models. For a sport model where most would be enjoying the outdoors in somewhat remote locations, a deadbolt is a must. I have yet to find the specs on how much clearance there is under the trailer. For it to be off-road friendly, I hope that it is significant but it doesn't look that way. I'm also curious about the safety of the gas lines that are exposed underneath when travelling down gravel roads?
Thank you for enjoying the video. The Basecamp does have a deadbolt for the side entry door but it is a different style than the other Airstream trailers. The folks that have viewed it recently love the open space and rear cargo door. The folks that want additional storage have also viewed the 16J Bambi sport and 19C Bambi models.
@@colonialairstream Re: Mitch Popiochak's ?s, answers for: clearance under trailer, if off/rough-road friendly, safety of gas lines exposed underneath? What yrs are being produced to look for? A 2018 was seen. Are there any in stock in the U.S. and does any one deliver? I'm close enough to KY, live in TN on the AL/MS state line to drive. Would like to see one in person, discuss possibilities of modifications. I'm ready to purchase one now.
I wish someone would make something similar to this with a fixed permanent big quality bed in the back, two small seat facing eachother at the end of the bed and have removable table you can set between the two, and then the rest of this unit would be perfect with a bigger fridge, and cassette toilet. That’s my perfect build I’ve yet to see or find.
Maybe now Colonial will cough up some greenbacks and get you either a gyro stabilizer or the new GoPro with it built in.. tell them that your TH-cam followers are clamoring for it! LOL
much improved basecamp trailer and loves it. my question is that i wonder if it is possible to add LED TV inside with cable socket from outside so anyone to watch TV or hook up at RV site or KOA site etc...?? let me know if they have that option or not?
The sticker price is one thing but the buying price is another. Someone told me that you can take 30% off and buy any RV. Not sure if that is correct. Great Video Paterick.
The main problem is there are no infrastructure to support this kind of vehicle. No trailer/RV park, no dump waste, no maintance facility, and i dont know is there specific law about trailer home/RV..
as a airstream owner..great trailer...but add better quality foam cushions for a better sleep. check out my 62globtrotter when did they stop making them?
Nice Video patrick. I was wondering, if you are not hooked up to shore power, do you just connect a portable generator to the 30 amp connection? If so, is there switching/surge control for the battery/solar setup? Is there an additional rooftop solar panel option for a second panel? I don't remember, but is there an inverter for the battery to 110v? No tv antenna connection from external roof or side?
Yes, you would plug the power cord for the Airstream directly into the generator. The on board battery charger and the solar would both simultaneously charge the batteries. An inverter is not available as a factory option on the Basecamp. A TV antenna and cable outlet can be added aftermarket.
Patrick, how can just MEeeee, modify the sleeping/eating space so that I can leaving my bedding/mattress/blankets in place & still utilize the table/eating space at the same time? I don't like the existing either or arrangement. Surely there is a way/modification so only one side (front to back) of the sleeping area is dedicated to sleeping & the other side open & available for the eating area. I especially like that this model comes with the TRUMA (Forced Air Furnace/on-demand hot water heater combo), 18" tires, & is only 7' wide instead of the usual 8' wide.
I agree with AZ Claimjumper's 1rst paragraph & was going to ask if u did modifications. This is exactly what I was going to ask for, except I wanted to remove those corner backs & seats, use my own cushions & install storage above them!!! --- Is this the correct tire height & do whatever the tires are, do they allow for off/rough roads? Can a composting toilet be somehow installed? Am ready to do the cost, buy now.
@@selenedismukes8530 I believe the newest model Basecamp has been redesigned by Airstream so the area can be used for eating & sleeping simultaneously. NuCamp's T@B400 is, in my opinion, a Teardrop RV with a much nicer design & for much less money.
This Airstream has heated tanks and enclosed underbelly for unexpected drops in temperatures below freezing. The tank heating system will give you a 7 degree boost in tank temperature.
So far in my research I've ruled out Little Guy Max and Mini Max due to how many people complain about leaks and other problems. The T@b family seems to be very happy but if I go with NuCamp T@b I will opt for a model with the Stargazer window. I'm loving the Basecamp, too. In this video it looks like the windows barely open, which will be a deal breaker for me. I need great construction with great customer service, off road capacity, light weight and light. I was disappointed with the way the windows open in the Basecamp. But I love that the backdoor opens and that we can load our gear (bikes, kayaks etc.) though the backdoor. Oh the choices.
Good review! You sound like Ray Romano. But it seems like the Basecamp is very expensive, just last year I was looking at new Bambi's for $35,000. Or did Airstream do a huge price increase overall?
The original 2007-2008 Basecamp had an MSRP of $30,000.00 loaded. Now 10 years later it is roughly $40,000 loaded. That's only $1,000 increase each year.
would love this idea on a pontoon setup to have the best of both worlds on land camping or out on the lakes.... with front door to the right or left of the Airstream Shanty Pontoon Boat 26' with a front porch and small back for gas tank an propane bottles, also posibly a chill deck on top....theres plenty of lakes, bays etc worldwide ya know.....this would be my dream idea like this base camp here setup......and if this idea takes off I want a good discount :-) an not a 10% that has an expiration....dream an explore only live once :-) :-) :-)

I can work with you. Patrick
as a airstream owner..great trailer...but add better quality foam cushions for a better sleep. check out my 62globtrotter when did they stop making them?
Thank you for your comment and suggestion. The Globetrotter model was discontinued in the 1960's
Great walkthrough but I do not like zip up shades I prefer the pull up/down kind so is this an option ?
Thanks for the feedback. There are no other options for shades currently.
Great walkthrough
Peter, thanks for watching.
I think the option to have a motorcycle is why I like that Airstream...I wonder if it could be an option...a larger door maybe with a built in ramp?
Check out the 2007 and 2008 Airstream Basecamps.
It's very nice is it four season camper?
This Airstream has heated tanks and enclosed underbelly for unexpected drops in temperatures below freezing. The tank heating system will give you a 7 degree boost in tank temperature.
great review looking forward to more reviews; any options for a television
Thank you for watching.
luv it how much to ship to uk are they winterized
Airstreams are built with heated tanks and enclosed underbellies for unexpected drops in temperatures. I believe shipping would cost 12-15K US.
can you get a motorbike in it still ? trail bike ?
Thank you for considering Airstream.
Very Thorough walk thru!
Michael, thank you for watching.
Great Trailer. 😃😀😃😀
They look awesome!!!
Thank you.
Wow - they brought it back. Interesting.
Yes, its back.
Really smart design!
Thank you.
Now 10
years later it is roughly $40,000 loaded. That's only $1,000 increase
each year.
would love this idea on a pontoon setup to have the best of both worlds on land camping or out on the lakes.... with front door to the right or left of the Airstream Shanty Pontoon Boat 26' with a front porch and small back for gas tank an propane bottles, also posibly a chill deck on top....theres plenty of lakes, bays etc worldwide ya know.....this would be my dream idea like this base camp here setup......and if this idea takes off I want a good discount :-) an not a 10% that has an expiration....dream an explore only live once :-) :-) :-)
Thank you for watching.
