Enjoyed the moose hunt. It looked to be a good time with your dad. Too bad there was no meat to haul out. But those Hericiums. Not only were a couple of those HUGE but I have never seen them growing up off of the ground like those you found. All of them that I find around here are near the ground. I live at a much higher elevation than where you were hunting, judging by the vegetation where you were, such as Devils Club. So maybe the reason for the fungi growing so high up is the lower elevation but I am guessing it is an area that also receives more rain fall which might be the prime reason. Thumbs up on the video. PS I also enjoyed watching your ice fishing trip videos with the boys on Lake Louise. I am hoping to do some of that this coming winter. We have pike out at our cabin and I am sure looking forward to hitting that resource hard this winter as well.
Great to spend time with your father! Nice finding those Lion's Mane mushrooms ,bet they tasted delicious! The mosquitoes were terrible! Thanks for sharing,Mark!
I had to grab a throw blanket just to watch this one...burrr! It's wonderful how God created everything that we need from Lions Maine Mushrooms to Wild Cranberries, yum! Awesome to see your Father in this video, great Father & Son time! Thanks for sharing this trip with us!!! 🌼
Gary said you should bring a separate bag for Mushrooms from now on. You are a Mushroom Hunter!! You are right to remind All your viewers, time with Dad will be cherished forever. Father's are the Greatest Teachers. This hunting trip showed us how difficult it can be. We love Mark how you will find the joy where most People don't look. In the thick wet of the Fall Forest, it is beautifully wild and growing. Thank you for taking us along to see this Marvelous gift. Gary got a little teary eye. He told me about Fishing with Dad and Mom.
I looked up the Benefits of Lions Beard, this might he something Gary could benefit from. I am going to call his Doctor on Monday. They make it in an extract. God works in the greatest ways.
I’ve heard good things about lions mane, they are not super common around here. They tasted great. Now I usually reserve a part of my day pack each day for mushroom foraging while out hunting and try to eat them each evening.
Can you write down the name of both of the Mushrooms you found? I love watching Mushroom Hunter vlogs. I was so excited when you got it down from so high. I will write again after Gary see's vlog. It is going to make him so happy to see you and Dad. He always sings "Suanne River". Extra treat for me
I remember the last day my dad and I went trout fly fishing. We hiked pretty far and he said after we were done for the day that this would be his hast day fishing- bad knees. It was a sad day but also brought back memories of him teaching me to fish. He will be 100 next month, God willing! Hold your family close!
Thanks for patiently waiting. We will try to get more videos out soon. Between working full time and my wife doing her channel full time, we just don't get them done as quick as we would like.
That hood was pretty busy already with all the rain. Plus, the 20+ lbs in the backpack was a pretty good load for that daypack. Good idea though for the future.
@@AlaskaBoys You can buy a grow your own lions mane mushroom kit on Amazon 10 pounds for like 30 bucks. I would of been more moose hunting but glad you had fun looking for mushrooms
I came to visit from your wife’s channel. I enjoyed the vlog. I subscribed.
Great 👍. Hopefully publish a few more soon. In the meantime, check out all the past videos. There are some good ones.
You got me, watching with head phones, and I just raised my hand to swat a fly. It was so realistic, good video.
They were bad!

Hey Mark…….I’ve commented before on the mosquitoes all around you! Wow……you have to be very tolerant! Enjoy the time with your Dad and, good luck!
They were bad! I kept wanting to brush them off my face when watching the video. Thankfully they don’t bother me too much.
Ft u
Love that you didn't go home empty-handed and scored all that lions main. Still put yummy food in your freezer 😋
Mark so nice you were able to spend some one on one, time with your dad.
Another educational video, thank again for sharing.
Great time with your dad! Thanks for sharing

The mushrooms were pretty watery, but maybe that was from all the rain? Once they were cooked down they were fantastic.

Lion's Mane, time with Dad, National Bird; what more could one want? Oh, yeah, a moose. Yet, a grand trip. Thank you!
I’d been looking for lions mane for years and never had found large concentrations of it until this trip.
Best channel ever💛 I hope to hunt in Alaska, one day.

Yikes, the bugs! They had me twitching. You and your dad are the real deal.
Mark what an incredible wild mushroom find!!! Not only are Lion's Mane delicious its also incredible for your health!! You can also dry it. 👍👍
Those mushrooms look delicious! can those dehydrate like a morel or would they just fall apart?
I think you could dehydrate them, I’ve never tried those kind though. The king boletes do well in the dehydrator.
Great stuff! 👍
Good luck guys
Good stuff
Very cool vlog.
Gaaaah, I can't with all the bugs flying around. I even swatted around my own head a couple of times thinking the mosquitoes were next to me 😂
You’re not alone! Watching the footage I kept trying to swat away the ones biting my face.
Outdoors boys brought me hir new subscriber fr phillipines
Awesome - thanks 🙏
Love your videos hope to see one soon. It's been a while 😁
Sure has. Hopefully have a few more in the near future.
Hey Mark! I hope you are still making videos for us! Miss seeing you and the boys out on adventures!
I am! Check out todays video.
Those mosquitoes are no joke! Neither was the rain, what a shame you didn't get a moose 😕 those mushrooms kind of made up for it 😀
I was hoping for a quick score on the moose, but it wasn’t meant to be on that trip.
@@AlaskaBoys can't wait to see Hunters video!
I thought mosquitos were bad in alabama. The ones on your hunting trip looked like they were dive bombing y’all
They sure were bad
Do the that's bug bits you
I'm watching and they make me feel all creepy 🤗😁😂
Me and my son have enjoyed your videos. We are moving to Homer in July. What caliber do you recommend for moose. Thanks!
I use a 300 WBY but about any 30 cal variety does well. My sons have a nice youth model 30.06.
Love your commentaries Mark. So knowledgable!

Lions Mane and King Bolete were the two I harvested on this trip. The big coral looking ones in the tree were the lions mane.
That is fabulous Mark. I love those names. They are always great names
The song is "Swanee River". My spell check has a mind of its own

Great video but the bugs would drive me nuts
Funny thing, they seemed to bother me more after I got home and saw the footage. I must have been in the moment out in the field.
Look in to hiring an editor or they have you tube videos also on how to edit. I would love to see more of your videos I miss you Mark

hello why you not uploading new videos
Busy life, day job, kids in school, etc.
Have a sick moose hunt filmed, just need to find time to edit it.
Thanks for watching though!
@@AlaskaBoys thank you fir letting me know
👏
Those bugs would drive me to distraction. Don’t know how you stand it. Also, you def need orange on your packs or at least on your hats.
You could have put it in your hood maybe and hauled it that way..back to camp
That hood was pretty busy already with all the rain. Plus, the 20+ lbs in the backpack was a pretty good load for that daypack. Good idea though for the future.
It’s been 2 months since last video. I’m a new subscriber, come back
Hello! We are so glad you're enjoying the videos. We hope to have more up soon. Thanks for waiting!
@@AlaskaBoys awesome will look forward to them. I’ve been watching them 3-4 times lol
You were hunting Lions mane not Moose
That’s how it turned out. 👍

Need to change the name of your channel to “mosquito boys”.
