What a good father Mark is. He and Lauren seem to have endless patience and are raising very capable boys
I'm from London in England, so our lives are very different. I love how the whole family get involved in the cooking. There are so many children that are not taught the basics of life, for example cooking. Its great to see your husband and boys are more than capable in the kitchen and not solely dependent on you for food.
I love how your guys help when you aren't feeling well. You have a wonderful family.
They were amazing. No fun when mom is down but they made the best of it!
I love that you two are setting those boys up for success with learning/helping with food preparation. Such an overlooked skill - but I have a husband that was never taught cooking skills and I don’t know how he would survive without me… making sure that doesn’t happen with my kids! Hope you are feeling better Lauren!
Thank you Natalie! I am on the mend and feel almost human again. I am so thankful that Mark is such a good cook, I feel like I learned so much from him. Especially in the game meat department. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful week!
I agree, my husband can barely cook, Mostly rice. My sister in law has never taught her boys to cook or clean up after a meal.
Hope you feel better
Thank you! I am on the mend.
It warms my heart to see the whole family cooking together. I try to do the same when my granddaughter spends the weekends at my house. It’s such a great bonding time that I pray she’ll always remember and look back on fondly.
It is such a great time to bond and talk. Thank you so much for spending time with our family, we are so grateful!
Great video! I love how your kids and husband all help while your sick. Feel better Lauren. Kids learning cooking skills is fantastic.
Thanks so much! 😊 Glad you enjoyed it! Have a wonderful week.
Love that when you where not feeling good your husband stepped in and started cooking. Most men would say they where babysitting there kids he took over and never complained about having to help with making dinners.
Mark is amazing in the kitchen. His mother taught him well! He was worn out from doing it all but he did such an amazing job! Thanks for the love and support!
You and Mark do such a good job raising your boys...showing them the importance of all hands on deck and helping out as a family!!
Thank you Jan, we are doing our best to give these kids good life skills. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to connect!
I love how your husband and boys help with the cooking 🧑🍳
They are the best! Mark inspires me with his abilities in the kitchen!!
Can you help by telling us what your holding up at the camera ,both when you're shopping and when cooking . As it's very hard to see and understand at times what your showing to us. Thanks!
I love Mark's technique for getting all the seasoning out of the measuring cup. Also it was wonderful to see him take over in the kitchen. Hope you are feeling better now.
I said the same thing about how he cleaned out that measuring cup. Like using a piece of bread to clean up your plate.
He did amazing while I was out of commission! Thank you for the bread recipe, I hope to try it out really soon.
In my city they have banned plastic bags, you have to bring your own bags or purchase paper bags, my mom would make banana cake and make Icing and put some peanut butter in the icing it was so good.
Oh, that sounds yummy! I love pb and banana together, thanks for the suggestion!
I think it's wonderful how everyone, just pitches in and helps one another. Team work so important.
Again everything looks yummy 😋.
I had some extra time so I watched this again. I know you will love the movie The Homecoming, it's what introduced everyone one to the Walton's.
I sure want to try some of these recipes you made, they looked really yummy!
Praying you are regaining your strength. I know you can feel better, but it's the strength I have a hard time catching up with! 🌼
Thank you so much! Hope you have a wonderful week!
All the meals looked great. Sorry you were not feeling well. Hope you’re better.
Loved seeing the boys & daddy working together like that in kitchen.
They did amazing! Thanks for watching!
I love how Mark steps in with the cooking. Suck a good dad/role model for the boys!
Hope you are feeling better Lauren!
Looking back, maybe I should’ve ordered pizza a few nights? Would’ve been my big chance. 😂
Thank you! I am starting to feel human again. Mark is amazing in the kitchen, I have learned so much from him!
I'm glad you're feeling better 🙏. Love from Georgia ❤️
Thanks! I am on the mend. It has been a rough few days1
Everett is too cute & sweet......just watching him lick the batter from the utensils brought back childhood memories of me and my siblings doing the same......beautiful family life, good example of teamwork 👏 This was a pleasure to watch, thank you!! Birthday blessings to your son!!
Licking the batter is the best part! Everett always hovers so that he can get first dibs. I am so glad you enjoy coming along with our family.
@@ThisAlaskaLifethe health community has stopped me from eating batter because of the raw eggs. FUN SPONGEs.
Such a great video! Sorry you were under the weather, Lauren. Thank goodness your husband and boys can step in. Such a blessing. But Mom adds the special touches with things so I’m sure they missed your cooking! 💕
Thank you so much! I am on the mend, thankfully. Mark did amazing with everything but he is worn out from being mom and dad.
Great job guys stepping up and helping out. Dad did a terrific job. Wishes to Lauren for a speedy recovery ❤
I drop everything when I get notified you just posted!! Love seeing how active everyone is! Plus I’m learning tons about Alaska!! Thank you 😊
That is so amazing Dani! Thank you for your support, we are so grateful!!
I watched this video while eating breakfast and I totally didn't want my oatmeal! Your dinners for breakfast was what I wanted! I think the salad is called champagne because of the color. I love jerky!
Haha! Sorry to ruin your appetite. 😉 Thank you so much for being here and I am so glad you enjoy it!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing the whole family come together to cook! Especially when you were sick! And the evidence of tasting the brownie batter on their faces!! LOL I have one 9 year old boy and I see him in each of your boys! Thank you for sharing your family with us!
Licking the spoon and the beater was always the biggest treat when baking as a kid and so neat to see your kids enjoying the same. Hope you all have a blessed day 💕
It's the best! I love seeing all the joy it brings them! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
Lauren hope you feel better soon i love how your boys and husband help you cook love from PA
Thank you, I am on the mend. Mark is so good at keeping things running but he is worn out! Thanks for the kind words.

Thank you so much! It really is no fun to be sick and so hard when you're mom and everyone wants your help. Mark did an amazing job but man is he tired! Thank you so much for watching, we are so grateful you're here.

Hello form Ireland. I love watching you and your wonderful family. Sorry to hear that your not feeling good. Sending you and your best wishes ❤
Hello Catherine! Thank you so much for being here. I am on the mend, thanks for the well wishes. Thanks for watching!
Everett could become a great chef one day ❤️🤗
That’s the goal with all the boys.
I hope he continues to enjoy cooking! It is such a blessing that Mark can cook!
Y’all sure do cook some good food!! Love how all the men help out! Mark looked like he did a great job cooking!! My grandson would love y’all’s jerky!! Hope you are feeling better!! Love your sweet family!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Mark is amazing in the kitchen and I am so grateful! The jerky is the best!! Thanks for watching and hope you have a wonderful week.
Loved how all the boys jumped in to do the cooking! Lauren hope you are doing better...The cooking videos are great...
Thank you! Slowly feeling human again. Thanks for watching!
I know how Lauren feels. I've been in bed the entire weekend. It makes my back hurt to lay this much. But, it was lay down or fall down the weekend. Getting better, thank God. Hopefully everyone stays well! I'm so glad that your family stepped in for you Lauren.
Lisa, sending lots of love and healing your way. I am on the mend but it is no fun being down!! Thank you so much for watching!
It's awesome that your husband & your boys can cook. Hope you are feeling much better.
They are amazing. Mark was taught at a young age by his mother and it was something he was really adamant that we teach the boys. It has become such a blessing!
Your Weston is adorable! Watched again while waiting for my doctor to call, love this vlog!! What a sweetheart Mark was to fix such delicious & healthy meal for his family while you were I'll. My kids loved when I was sick, it meant Pizza Hut...lOl!!! You definitely have a winner and you definitely deserve him, it's wonderful to see a couple love and work together as you two do!!! 🌼
I loved Everett's cleaning of the kitchen utensils, I used to love doing that with my Grams. I have to smile when Mark is cooking, as I always thought of grizzly mountain men before watching TH-cam (sorry Mark ) in my defence I'm English. Loved the video 💞
I am so thankful that Mark is such a great cook! He has taught me so much! Glad you enjoyed spending time with us, we are so grateful!
I really enjoyed this. Sorry you were sick Loren. Glad you're better. Be blessed.
Thank you Carol! It has been a rough patch but I am on the mend. Thank you so much for being here!
What a beautiful Dad that he is cooking and the boys are too that is the kind of family I would like to be in
Hi Hamm Family. Loved seeing Evertt cleaning the betters from cake icing. And how Dad helps him explain different shapes for home made jerky. Hope u enjoyed ur rest. B.Mountain, Canada
I loved watching him eat the cake batter and it getting on his nose 👃❤️
He was in heaven!!
I loved this video. Just finished snowblowing and shovelling the 18 inches we got yesterday in the northeast. So coffee and your video is perfect. That rice dish is on the menu here, looks great. You cook meals very similar to me so it's fun to see new ways. I never knew skinning a fish did that to their fins and tails, so interesting. Stay safe and warm, Blessings everyone . ☺
Hello Stephanie! So glad you enjoyed the video. WOW, 18 inches!! That is a lot. Thank you so much for being here!
@@ThisAlaskaLife love your videos. ☺
Everett is so cute ❤ happy late birthday hunter 🎂 I hope you and your family are always be happy
Thank you so much! We are grateful you're here with us. Have a wonderful week!
What a great video. I just loved it. Its nice to see what someone prepares for meals in other parts of the country. Your husband and kids help a lot which is really nice. Hope you are feeling better Lauren
Hello Shirley! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I am on the mend, thanks for your kind words. Have a wonderful week.
Going to make that banana cake tomorrow. That looks soooo good!
Tell me how you like it! We love it!!
I can relate with regards the no plastic policy. Here in the northern part of the Philippines, we actually use eco bags rather than paper bags since it's more sturdy and is reusable.
Reusable bags are the best! I wish I would remember to bring them more often. Thank you so much for watching!
Hello Alaska family to Mr&Ms thanks for taking along on the cooking different meats that your husband caught with your son's,each meals look so good never had moose but it look tasty.Take care all and again the cake you make look nice happy birthday to hunter.🙏🙏🙏😊😊😱🥳🥳🐈
Hello Margaret! So glad you enjoyed coming along. Moose is very tasty! have a great week.
Hi Lauren This Alaska Life & Everyone! What a super smart talented beautiful family! All the homemade food looks so delicious and good to eat! Mark & Everette did a awesome job on making the beef jerky! Great video!
Hello Bernice! We appreciate you being here. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you very much, Lauren!
@@ThisAlaskaLife Thank you & the same to you , Lauren!
For sure trying the fried rice and the fruit salad! Hope you are feeling better🙂
Hope you enjoy them! thanks for watching! I am on the mend, thanks for your kindness.
Such delicious looking meals. It's so nice watching everyone participate in the kitchen. Such a lovely family
Thank you so much! I am grateful to have help in the kitchen! Have a wonderful week!
So glad the boys like to cook and pitch in when needed. Hope you are feeling better. I Tell Mark that I made jerky from ground beef with the small jerky maker for many years! Very tasty and better than the most of the jerky you can buy! That salmon and barley soup looked yummy! Everett the salad King. Brownies and banana cake WOW! The fish reminds me of how we clean catfish here in Indiana. Something for everyone in this video!
A real mix of food this week, but that’s how we do it. Thanks for watching.
How did you dry your jerky when you made it?
Thanks for watching Laura! The jerky really is the best! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
We used an electric dehydrator. I tried the low oven method once, but we did not like the results as well as the dehydrator. Our dehydrator was much smaller and round so I would have to keep refilling it over several days as I usually made up 3 pounds at a time. I also would slice meat thin and marinate in smoke, soy sauce, and other seasons and then put that in the dehydrator for jerky. I quit doing that as the season packets and ground beef was much quicker and took less time. My husband loved spicy so I added hot sauce and cayenne pepper to make his spicy once. It was too hot for me, but he loved it.
@@laurab4413 I agree that the ground jerky is much easier to do. I tried a round dehydrator that my mother had, and it didn’t have enough heat to dry the meat off quickly enough to prevent spoilage. We’ve been happy with this one we currently have. It works well for making fruit leather too.
Good to see the boys helping out and what good food 👋👍👌
They are amazing! Thanks for watching!!
Hope Lauren feel better soon both can cook so good.🙏🙏😊🙏🙏
Thank you! I am on the mend!
Great to see the boys learning how to cook.💕
It is important to us and I love watching them learn new skills. Thank you so much for watching!
and we love paper bags n looking for them lol
I just wish they didn't rip so fast.
We skin catfish like that. Except my dad taught me to nail them through the head onto a board before to hold it for pulling.
Love seeing your recipes!
That would have been an easier way to do it, thanks for the tip! Thank you so much for watching!
I've been obsessed with your videos since I found your channel. ❤
Thanks Naomi! I am so grateful to have you here with us. Hope you have a wonderful week!
Everything looked delicious, even the salmon 😉. Always good to get a glimpse of Bill and Linda. I don’t know why but it always makes me teary. Good to see the boys helping with the cooking. Will the boys be watching the Super Bowl?
Hello Kay! I am glad you get glimpses of Bill and Linda. They are family and it is great to connect, even from afar. We usually watching the super bowl but it is the only game we watch all year!
Another great video! I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well but, was nice to see Mark and the boys cooking. I really enjoy these videos. All of your videos I should say! Thank you! Oh and Fred Meyer was spendy. It’s the same here.
FM is always so spendy! Thank you so much for watching. I am on the mend, thanks! Have a wonderful week!
Love the recipes this week. Loved seeing the WV board. I'm from WV also. Do you all have a Cabela's close? So cute seeing Everett take your spatula before you were done...locking the battery is the best.
Yay WV!! We have Cabelas and Bass pro shop in Anchorage! Everett loves stealing batter, just took it a little too soon! Thank you so much for spending time with us!
Great video lauren hope your feeling better great to see the boys cooking with their dad they all seam to enjoy till your next vlog love to you all xxx
Thank you Gilda! I am on the mend. Mark has done an amazing job keeping things running but he is ready to have mom back!!
I have an idea for the couch coming apart you can get straight brackets and screw them together underneath that's what we had to do
Thank you! We may have to do that. It is such a nice couch but so annoying that it comes apart. I will keep you updated!
@@ThisAlaskaLife Good luck it's a very nice couch
I enjoyed watching the whole family help to prepare the meals and I also think your kitchen is so beautiful……I love how large and open it is 🌻
Hello Cheryl! Thank you so much. We are so grateful for the kitchen, it serves our family well.
Hahaha we use the kitchen aid trick too.
It's so good! Shreds meat or chicken so much faster!
Wow! They all work fabulous together! Great family!👍🧡
Thank you so much! We try hard to work and play as a family!! Thanks for watching!
We also pay for paper bags....8 cents each. You are out numbered yes but you look like you enjoy that. Such a nice family!!🙂🙂
So great how the boys and mark cook also! Thanks for sharing, I bet it's a lot of work to put these videos together!
It’s a lot of work but so fun to have it all come together. Thank you so much for watching!
Hi Lauren, I’m sorry you are not feeling well, I hope your doing better now. I love this video it touched my heart 💜 seeing all of you making dinner & dessert. I don’t like bananas but I love them in cakes & breads I know I’m weird 😜 have a wonderful day
Thank you so much Kim! I am on the mend. Mark did a great job rallying everyone while I was sick. As I edited the video I gave him major props for all the awesome food he made. Hope you have a wonderful week!
My mother used to make this "Champagne salad" and it's called this because sometimes the rich serve this with their Champagne.
Good to know! It is so tasty! Thank you so much for watching!
I love the video and your boys are such great helpers.
Thanks Susan! So grateful you’re here!
Mark and the boys are really good in the kitchen !! Yummy food and brownies!! And jerky !! 😀😀😀😀😀😀
I hope Lauren feels better, I am at the making jerky part of the video, always wanted to make jerky with ground never have , love the tool, lol, I need to try this too, we all are fans of jerky here. We bought a large dehydrater from Cabelas a few years ago. I always wondered what the texture is like I have to ask for that tool for my birthday. Lol .
I’ve made jerky a few ways (smoker, oven, dehydration) and this dehydrator is the easiest way. It’s definitely a more economical way for us to eat it, plus it helps us get through our meat from hunting.
It makes such great jerky! One of my favorite things Mark makes with the meat, such a great snack and so simple!
@@ThisAlaskaLife already sent my husband the link from your description. I'm very excited to try. . Thank you so much for the replies. ☺☺😆
@@AlaskaBoys His next deer in the fall, we will ask for more ground for sure. ☺
@@ThisAlaskaLife I just finished dehydrating the jerky using your jerky gun in your description. My kids and husband are going to love it. I needed some keto snacks and this is it. Thank you both for sharing your tips and sharing your family recipes, it really helps. The gun was easy to use, much easier to use than I thought. Cleanup is easy too. Thank u you both again. 🐂
AMAZING MEALS VIDEO!!! I absolutely loved watching all of you make these delicious meals. Lauren you and your family are precious! Glad you’re feeling better 💕 Look forward to more of these delicious meals!! I also enjoy The Alaska Boys!! Stay safe and well ♥️
I am so glad that you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for being part of our community, we are so grateful!
Good evening Lauren and Mark and family and thank you for sharing your yummy meals ❤
Amazing video Lauren and family I enjoyed every ❤️ bit of the food and I wanna make the banana cake and I hope you are feeling better
Hello friend! I hope you are well. The banana cake is wonderful, hope you try it sometime . I am on the mend, thank you so much!
Hope you are feeling better Lauren.
Thank you so much, I am on the mend! Have a wonderful week!
Lauren, here in the State of Maine they have also done away with plastic bags (☹️) and the paper bags cost us .5 each and I don't always remember my recyclable bags either. I miss the plastic bags!
I miss the plastic too! Paper falls apart so easily. I need to be better about grabbing reusable bags!!
Thanks ...I love to watch all the recipes you are with all the different meats...I would love to try all of them...I have eaten deer...moose...but never bear..
I bet it would be so good...again thanks for sharing.
Bear has a sweet taste, as long as it hasn't been eating rotting salmon. Spring bear is good, fall bear, not so much! Thanks for watching!
Hope your feeling better!! The banana cake looks so good. I also always have wanted to try the Mississippi roast but was unsure if it was good. I think I'm just going to have to trust everyone and try it. Thank you for a great video!!
Adding the Au Jus to the mississipi roast made the difference for me, it was so flavorful! Thank you so much for watching!
"The Jerky Canon" , I thought I had seen it all but Mark always is surprising us. Man, that Jerky looked good. I am glad Mark didn't shoot that Jerky all over the kitchen. Lauren, would have to take another day off after cleaning.
All the dinners looked good. Hunter's salmon. Thank God it didn't burn because Bennett's hot dog, yikes. Loved seeing Bennett grilling, good call. The Mississippi roast yummy.
Lauren, look into Curious CHEF. They have knives that will cut through carrots, cooked chicken but they won't cut your skin. This is a great option for Everett. I bought a set for my neices. They started cooking at 5. He would love them. They have tons of great stuff.
Well, I have tons of ideas for dinners this week. Thanks Hamm Family. And Mark, you did an Awesome job. Prayers that Lauren is getting her Stength back. It's hard when Mom is down. But they sure ate good.
You’ve gotta watch out for the jerky cannon!!!. I always get a kick out of the names for those tool. They call them Jerry pistol, cannon, blaster, etc.
Hello friends! We are grateful for all of your comments. Mark did such a great job with the boys. I am on the mend but it was a rough week. Hope you are well and thanks for the recommendation, I will look into those knives.
Loved this. 🥰
Yay! So glad you enjoyed it!
Great seeing what a great help your boys are and seeing the meals your husband made.
He did such a great job keeping things running smoothly! So thankful!

The boys did good.

That was interesting to learn about the plastic bags. I didn't know that!
These are my favorite videos you make!!! 😍🙌🏻
