    Simple but Brilliant Solution

    good mod. Specially with motion this is important, as certain fine motion would be absorbed by such dampening. Thanks.

    as always, great work! by any chance, have you found an option to reduce flex in the shifter side-profiles?

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      do you mean in the shifter mount or the side arm? either way the answer is no, as I find the flex to be next to unnoticable while driving (at least with the shifter I use), so for now there's no need to improve anything on my end.

      @@TheSimChannel thanks, i meant the sidearm. true that the flex is not noticable while driving, still bugging me a bit just knowing. I might try with a second profile, maybe that'll help a bit.

    so funny. I literally just finished racing and realised the bolts have come loose due to braking hard.

      and PS I broke my seat last week in my real race kart due to g forces and being thrown around.

    Can u do without the slider? Would that lessen the flex?

    My Rseat S1 comes with a brace under the seat.

    Man your rig has a ton of flex on the seat. Mine is an old playseat that's bottom mounted with Aluminum brackets with with no seat slider. There is zero flex. That would drive me nuts. I would bag the side mounted seat and go with a more robust mount for a button mounted seat.

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      did you watch til the end of the video? there is no more flex left ;-)

    • @logo8009
      @logo8009 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSimChannel I did. I feel the brackets still have flex in them. I'm a 200 lbs guy and that would bother me. I made home made from two pieces of aluminum I bent on a break with drilled holes to change the height. You have a great idea but due to the poor quality of the manufactured bracket that's is good as it will get. That's why I made my own.

      @@logo8009 I'm pretty sure you wouldnt feel any notable amount of flex in my seat, apart from the backrest itself flexing ever so slightly (it's an FIA-approved fiber glass bucket seat, but every seat can flex just a little). I promise, my mount is rock solid :-D
      Nonetheless, I appreciate DIY solutions, and if yours also gets you rock-solid mounting then that's awesome!

      @@TheSimChannel Hey was not a argument. I'm sure your seat is great. I was noting that there was flex in the side bracket mount. I'm sure the seat is amazing. It's good you were addressing the notable flex in it and trying to fix it.I was giving my observations of the flex in the video.What we feel and see are two different things as you say.Looking forward to your futures videos. Keep up the good work

    Is ot comfortable to play on bucket seat for a prolonged time, say about 3 hours?

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very much depends on the seat. In the one I've got (it's a black one now but basically the same one as in this video) is very comfortable for me, and I can spend 5 hours in it with no issues. I did add a lumbar support cushion though, without it my lower back starts to get sore after 15 minutes. Other bucket seats can be uncomfortable from the second you get in. My recommendation would be to look for one with decent cushioning and a rounded back rest. A lot of back rests in bucket seats are straight, and that usually doesn't feel very nice.

    Is that an ASR rig or just custom made?

    are all seat brackets universal? As far as bucket seats go

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      unless otherwise specified, I would say yes. Except for the width.

      @@TheSimChannel Would you happen to know if a universal pedal slider and mounting bracket from a real car would fit the same dimensions of the p1x ? Would like to build a rig with a real seat, but I dont know if I should buy the Simlabs sparco pedal slider and mounting bracket or a real pedal slider and mounting bracket as it has more options for positioning of the seat

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@azaelgarza1871 Yes, on the P1-X you have all the flexibility you need in terms of how far you place the brackets apart, and the rest is compatible. I'm using a standard seat slider, seat brackets, and an FIA approved bucket seat for real life motor racing on mine.

    That's not a strut brace. There isn't any struts involved here. That's a seat brace. Struts generally work by resisting longitudinal compression.
    I was watched this video because I was wondering how and why you mounted struts.
