    I have this Integrated mount on my P1-X with a Samsung G9 and I must say - your alternate mounting ideals are very good. I am using a Sim Core Motor mount with my Simucube 2 Pro wheel base. The Sim Core motor mount for the Simucube base is close in design to the Sim Lab Fanatec motor mount. So your mounting methods in that area will work for me also.

    You should get the pc shelf and attach it to the real of the monitor mount so you pc is directly behind the G9. Where the PC is now it will get dusty in no time.

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's a motion rig. plus visually it's too awkward to have the PC behind the screen.

    After a couple years, are you still an advocate for an integrated mount over a standalone mount?

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't use the simulator much anymore to be honest, but yeah, the integrated mount makes for the best positioning of the screen, keeps everything compact. And it's the ideal solution for motion rigs as well. I still recommend it, unless one is looking for more vertical FOV.

  • @leonasta9809
    @leonasta9809 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video, maybe you can help me: the triple version is just additional pieces? So if I buy a triple I will be able in any case to use the version with single monitor?

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the triple is just additional pieces, so you can also mount a single screen on that. I'm not exactly sure if the crossbar is maybe a little wider on the triple screen version, but that wouldn't keep you from installing a single screen. Feel free to use my affiliate link in the description if you choose to order one!

  • @haaake
    @haaake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think there is any actual advantages to mounting monitor directly to the rig? It seems like without motion system there isn’t much advantage? Even with motion rigs it seems like a lot of people just have stand alone monitor mounts to avoid screen wobble.

    • @haaake
      @haaake 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most games have head camera movement in car when hitting bumps and things so i really wonder how much benefit there is to rig mounted with a DoF system. I guess it depends on personal preference but just asking because i am considering a similar screen and am thinking Sim-Lab’s standalone mount might be a better option for me hmm.

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well, mounting it to the rig directly is significantly more compact, and you can solve the screen wobble like I showed in the video. it also makes it easier to bring it into the perfect position on top of the wheel base, if that is what you're going for. personally I prefer it over stand-alone stands for ultra-wides. for (large) TVs and triples though I would probably prefer a stand-alone stand.

  • @mrb552
    @mrb552 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sorry for being off topic but I see you are wearing Sparco Meca 3 Mechanics Gloves during your racing. I'm finding that my suede leather wheel is still getting matted down over time even when using the same gloves. I'm also using a suede brush on the wheel after each use but it doesn't seem to matter.
    Do you have any thoughts on how to keep the suede on the wheel in good shape? Thanks.

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not an expert on suede wear, but I don't think there's anything you can do to avoid the wear completely, it'll always wear out over time. But using the gloves at least keeps it from becoming disgusting ;-)

    My eyes must be really fucked because I can't have my G9 that close to my face without my eyes hurting after a few hours.
    I'm in the process of mounting my G9 to one of their vario vesa mounts, I dunno if it can take the weight, and I would like to know the distance between the monitor mount crossmember and the edge of the profile you have up against the back of the monitor

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If I get your question correct then it's 8 cm from crossbar to front tip of the pieces that push into the rear of the G9.
      And maybe you need glasses? :)

      I don't fully understand. Anyway, I'm no expert on screens. For my purpose the G9 is ideal. If you want a larger vertical FOV I'd suggest going with a 60+" TV with 120 Hz. And for triples... I really don't know. There are so many 27-32" models, and there are new ones coming out like every other week. hardware unboxed has probably some good reviews on that ;-)
