1:18 Gina singing "miss" while John sings "need" is incredibly validating because I must've listened to this song a hundred times or so time by now and I still mix these lines up.
I’m dying for an Alice In Chains vocal dynamic. I’d love to see Gina take the Jerry Cantrell role from back in the day, where she gets leads here and there or they split leads in a song. She’s got a quality voice and it would be great to hear them take more advantage of that.
I was really worried but they are absolutely killing it with Gina. I think they're best work is ahead of them as long as they stay true to their heavy roots. Fucking amazing work.
nitemareman1 I feel like she could bring something heavier to their future stuff-I think she’s a metal lady to the core, and can play pretty much anything rock/metal-wise from a technical perspective. Or maybe more progressive and complex stuff. I guess we’ll see, and I’m just grateful that we’ll be able to see that evolve.
@Jason Copeland Agreed. Without any disrespect to their heavier stuff, I think they are just too good as songwriters. Longer, mellow and progressive songs is where their future should be at.
[giggles] Cold-blooded angels in blankets of ash Alone in the southern pines There's a place in the garden Where nothing will grow But I could stay forever Where I lay every night on the forest's floor Asleep with both eyes open 'Cause I need that bitter hand That struck me blind To keep my eyes from closing Pale as the rose or the shadow it throws Over earth and sky If the rocks in my pocket Were cinder and stone I'd owe it all to nothing Wasted years on an empty road Where flies buzz around my head Now I miss the bitter hand That cut me down All the way to nothing Wasted years on an empty road Where flies buzz around my head If the rocks in my pocket Were silver or gold I'd spend it all on nothing There's something waiting at the door I hear it breathing I follow even though I'm sure I should be leading There's something waiting at the door I hear it bleeding Every time I ask for more I can't believe it All I need was hanging 'round the door I'm not sleeping anymore 'Cause I remember every single word Every little thing I can't forget Cold-blooded angels Stop staring at the sky We all pay a terrible price When we learn to fly And if I could forget you Oh, how hard I tried Please, somebody tell me How the hell did I survive?
Holy sh*t...this was amazing...left me wanting an acoustic Baroness album, that’s for sure...the complexity of their music seems to shine in this format...
This video gave me chills and goosebumps! Oh my Buddha, this is so good and I am just listening to the amazing new record, Gold & Grey. My love for Baroness is growing every day. Thanks for such great music, guys. And thanks Revolver for supporting them. Time to grow even bigger, Baroness! Great times ahead for you guys. And Australia is waiting you with open arms.

I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM ON THIS ALBUM TOUR! we seen them a few months ago and they are one of the few performers competing with the foo fighters performance.
Beautiful performance of an even more beautiful song! I have always been amazed by Baroness' acoustic version video of Stretchmaker (search "baroness stretchmaker" if you haven't seen it) this video makes me excited for what the future holds! Also, the setting and footage is amazing!
Masterful my love to the pain us Sayers and player to give all and too fall and of course my love to you all I have walked this road and I thank you for receiving the burn to my flame putting words too this vast hole in side of this soul ... Never have I needed something so much and not know it until I received it thank you and may God bless and the angels gift you in all your works of light and dim
Baroness is my favorite band right now. Although I like Gina's voice, I'd have liked to listen only Jon's vocals in some parts of the song. His voice is one of the trademarks of baroness. Anyway, amazing song and amazing performance as always!
No, I'm sure of it too. Since I started listening to Baroness, about five years ago, his lyrics always mesmerized me Read them often so it inspires me to write my own stuff.
I've always loved Baroness' art more than their music because I just can't listen to metal for any sustained period of time. But if this was their usual sound I'd be a big fan!

Gina rules! As much as I love John’s voice, I really would love to hear Gina sing lead on the next record, at least in a song or 2.
good idea

thats a cool idea
I think she is amazing to. She reminds of my wife. They look like twins I just wish my love played guitar like Gina.
If the dust in my pocket
Was silver or gold
I'd spend it all on Baroness tickets :)
It's awesome hearing John and Gina's voice together! 🤘🏻
Mathieu Gauthier the two blend together excellently
Jeez, Gina’s got a voice to match her playing. Fantastic.
limozeen jenkins she’s a great add for them
Baizley one day will make an acoustic solo record and it will be great and i will buy it.
That was really unexpected. Never heard Baroness sound like that before. Kinda speechless. Tip of the cap guys.
Scott R search for baroness 98 kupd, they did an acoustic set for a local radio station and it was amazing
camhorejs appreciate the tip!! Been my favorite band for years, never heard of that.
@@camhorejs I actually found that after I saw this one. I live in Az and listen to that station alot. Not sire how I missed it.
Scott R I found it because KUPD posted about it on Instagram the day Baroness was here with Deafheaven in March!
I was really worried but they are absolutely killing it with Gina. I think they're best work is ahead of them as long as they stay true to their heavy roots. Fucking amazing work.

Agree. She is awesome live too. The live energy this band brings is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. You can tell they just love to play music.

Cold-blooded angels in blankets of ash
Alone in the southern pines
There's a place in the garden
Where nothing will grow
But I could stay forever
Where I lay every night on the forest's floor
Asleep with both eyes open
'Cause I need that bitter hand
That struck me blind
To keep my eyes from closing
Pale as the rose or the shadow it throws
Over earth and sky
If the rocks in my pocket
Were cinder and stone
I'd owe it all to nothing
Wasted years on an empty road
Where flies buzz around my head
Now I miss the bitter hand
That cut me down
All the way to nothing
Wasted years on an empty road
Where flies buzz around my head
If the rocks in my pocket
Were silver or gold
I'd spend it all on nothing
There's something waiting at the door
I hear it breathing
I follow even though I'm sure
I should be leading
There's something waiting at the door
I hear it bleeding
Every time I ask for more
I can't believe it
All I need was hanging 'round the door
I'm not sleeping anymore
'Cause I remember every single word
Every little thing I can't forget
Cold-blooded angels
Stop staring at the sky
We all pay a terrible price
When we learn to fly
And if I could forget you

Almost three years have passed. Still the best song ever written. Hurtful but truthful.

Baroness is the Best jhon baizley is the Best singer ,guitatist and songwritter live it ❤❤😊
Baroness should do a ACOUSTIC BEST OF album. I can see lots of great songs being wonderful as acoustic.
Like Metallica lol... Tacky.
Holy crap this is good. Baroness is one of my top five favorite bands of the last ten years.
Gina is great
Holy crap, I can't put it into words with this band
3:27 absolutely speechless. That part on the song filled with the sound of the environment... amazing!
Gina wearing that Age of the Cobra shirt is just awesome, been listening to them the past couple days. I love this group.
Please officially release this on Apple Music and Spotify. Make us all happy.
Where is Sebastian and why isn't he playing a washboard?
Matthew Clarke he’s underwater
Or a violin??
change that washboard for a handpan
@@nonpoint666rocks shit, that would sound sick!
they told him he had to wear a shirt for the video so he just didnt rock up
I’ve seen baroness at the FYF festival in 2013! Man I need to catch them headlining so I can feel it more. It was tight but the set was kinda short.
I'm in love with Gina
Check her out before baroness. She was the guitar player in the Michael Jackson Broadway show.
Holy Hell. This is amazing!
Beautiful...to tears...my God your voices sound amazing together. Ty
Their voices sound beautiful together...bravo.
Love ya, guys!
What a vocal blend! So damn good hearing the Baroness tracks acoustically.
Perfect song

Near perfect song writing. Gina is so angelic.

Love how gina sounds, awesome!
Oh my god... this is so perfect.
I CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM ON THIS ALBUM TOUR! we seen them a few months ago and they are one of the few performers competing with the foo fighters performance.
seeing them on purple seems far too long ago now
lovely
Amazing.
Gina's high pitch voice has a sighly tone of urgence that matches the melody amazingly.
This was really great. Can't wait for the new album
Beautiful performance of an even more beautiful song! I have always been amazed by Baroness' acoustic version video of Stretchmaker (search "baroness stretchmaker" if you haven't seen it) this video makes me excited for what the future holds! Also, the setting and footage is amazing!
Wait, you're saying I'll find "baroness stretchmaker" by searching "baroness stretchmaker"? I dunno, sounds shady to me.
Perfect
I agree with some previous comments get Matt Pike to do The Cave!!!
Oh fuck yeah. Didn't know I needed that in my life. The disciple of the great riff wizard needs to get on that.
Collis Crafton AGREED!
Kinda want a hear an acoustic folk side project now.
this is awesome, could definitely use a violin/cello or even just a bow on the bass
first time i love john´s voice. saw them at the hellfest 2018, doing acoustic stuff. better than distorted.
gina...a picker of my own heart,...and technique...the brian setzer pick tuck...awesome overall!!!
Hellyeah, Albany Bulb!
Gina is the ultimate addition
Masterful my love to the pain us Sayers and player to give all and too fall and of course my love to you all I have walked this road and I thank you for receiving the burn to my flame putting words too this vast hole in side of this soul ... wow!!
This is beautiful
Biblical !!
Holy shit

BARONESS
This might be my favorite on the album.
Just really really intoxicating. Slow quiet burn.
What a band live tho, amirite?!
Por el amor de jebús esta banda me va a matar 🖤
Baroness is my favorite band right now. Although I like Gina's voice, I'd have liked to listen only Jon's vocals in some parts of the song. His voice is one of the trademarks of baroness. Anyway, amazing song and amazing performance as always!
Los pelos como escarpias - The creeps
Gina’s voice sounds a lot like the girl from The XX I really really like it :)
weird.. i heard 'rain of castemere' 😅
Come back to Aussie.
I can hardly watch this video. It’s so intense. 😪
Am I the only one that thinks John has a real talent for lyricism?
No, I'm sure of it too. Since I started listening to Baroness, about five years ago, his lyrics always mesmerized me
Read them often so it inspires me to write my own stuff.
John's lyricism and art and vision are supreme. No one in the entire music industry has anything on him as an artist.
I think the same of him to be honest. He is the shyt man.
he's creative. He also draws the album covers. poetry and art come in hand in hand often
Yes, you are the only one, ever
so what happened to the guitarist that she took the spot of?
Shane O Mac Pete left the band to pursue different things in life
Hey my headphones aren’t broken
I've always loved Baroness' art more than their music because I just can't listen to metal for any sustained period of time. But if this was their usual sound I'd be a big fan!
What's your problem?
love this. except the weird break in the middle.

yes like Herbal Essences commercials!
All I knew was hanging around the door.
Just made video would love feedback \mm/
I’m higher than a mountain ⛰
(OG Kush)
Layn in bed
Listening
Is it me or does Gina look like a grown-up version of Eleven from stranger things.
if this is not mixed well in the album I SWEAR TO GOD........
Kaptan.R. the whole album sounds good.
The Doublebass hasnt the right Intonation. The Rest ist awesome.
