I think I told this story once. Our local farmer brings in his corn. After he is done, he lets us walk the fields with some burlap sacks. We find ears of corn or half ears the combine missed. We put out 4 in the morning by the kitchen sidewalk. We live on the east side of town. We live in a higher elevation that 90% of the city. Up above us is a mountain 3 large blocks away. Deer come down the mountain about 4 am and search for food. My neighbors and my deceased aunt always put out corn, peanut butter bread, leftover bread, lettuce, cabbage and other veggies. Those deer come down, with fawns sometimes and eat all that up. If you are up at 4 am you can look out the kitchen window or door and watch them. If I open the kitchen door it leads to a 5 foot deck about 20 feet long which is above the driveway. I can sit in a chair on a warm/cool day and see those deer come down and stop at each neighbors houses searching to see if they got left anything. I tried to record it but it didn't show up, too dark.
