    Noticed the black (Ditch Trim) left/right of roof at brake light level. That’s where roof and C-pillar meet. That is where, my 2007 is leaking. Water follows cab trim, to a leak dumping water in the corners of my cab. 😡🤬

      Tons of places to leak from if you have additional areas like sunroof, cab lights, rear sliding window, and of course the CHMSL

      Albert, sir, thank you much for replying. The interesting thing is that we have three of these trucks two from 2006 one with sunroof one without the one without has never leaked from those front door handles the 2006 with the sunroof when parked at the curb, it does slightly tilt towards the right side on a level street, and 1 inch rain. We hang a 1 gallon bucket from the doorhandle grab handle a pillar and it will fill that bucket as you described the 2014 truck #1 pointing uphill in our driveway at about a 3° angle. The water is coming in next to the passenger side rear headliner, and we have been putting a towel there and changing it out That Ditch trim you speak of? Is that the black trim that runs on the roof perhaps hiding a body seam going from the front to the back of the roof on our mega cab. We tried sealing up around the rear, brake light with silicone and sadly this did not work, do I need to pull this black trim off the roof and look underneath thanks for your help again only are two trucks with the sunroof are the ones leaking which is interesting. They are both mega cabs one from 2006 and one from 2014 2006 truck only leaks at the front door grab handle passenger side mainly Although my wife used to complain, Water would hit her knee when she was driving. Then I think I said put a towel on your lap ha ha we are constantly changing out towels and putting the fan in the truck to dry things out in our driveway. It appears that mainly it is passenger side headliner getting wet in the 2014 as I recall although there may be a bit of moisture on the driver side rear ,also Headliner

      @redwood6737. yes, have attempted to seal up, “Ditch Trim,” Right rear storage, is now dry. Left side still leaking/pooling in storage. Have cleared rear window drains, prior to current pooling. All sunroof drains are flowing, “full stream. The third brake light area was dry, no staining. 6:06

    So what’s the best way to remove the gasket?

      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@verycherry2689 I used an eraser wheel from 3M to remove the foam. Eraser wheel works for a bunch of stuff without damaging the surface, just dont stay in one area too longer or put too much pressure.

      Did you drop the headliner and plug it in that way?

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chriso1373 I may have plugged it back in from inside as the headliner was down at some point during the process for drying interior out. Dealer had sealed it incorrectly and water was pooling in the floor. We had to dry it out in the garage with big fans. Easiest to plug in before installing back if you have a helper to hold the light while you put your sealant on. I was using a caulk gun which made it a little more difficult if I recall to hold the light and caulk at the same time.

    I thought they already addressed this problem? Mine was in for 2 weeks, headliner was pouring water on dash! They replaced my brake light assembly. So far, no more leaks.

    • @MKSPerformanceOffroad
      @MKSPerformanceOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The dealer resealed mine incorrectly and I ended up doing the reseal myself because they didn’t follow the instructions FCA gave them. This is just showing you the method that works and all the dealer does or is suppose to do is put windshield adhesive sealer on your foam gasket and reinstall. If they only put a new light in beware, it may leak again.

      @@MKSPerformanceOffroad They replaced my housing, MINUS my led modules. Now I have to reopen it, to install new LEDs?! Those incands, aren't bright enough for hitching the fiver at night.

      @@03redrubi while you have it out, do yourself a favor and put some windshield adhesive sealant on the foam gasket and re-install it.

    When did you plug the light back into the truck wire harness I know when but it should be reconnected looking at your vid you never plugged in to the truck connection and just screwed it back to the back of the cab ?

      R 2014 Limited mega cab leaks at the passenger rear headliner and also there’s water on the carpet right next to the passenger rear door. Also water drips from the front passenger grab handle which could be because the front sunroof drains are plugged? Or 2006 mega cab Only leaks from the front passenger grab handle and we have a clean the front drains from the sunroof in the front door pillars but it still leaks in the last frame. Thanks for your help. There should be a class action lawsuit and a recall on these leaky ram trucks

      @@redwood6737I have an 07. There is trim(Ditch Trim) left and right of roof at third brake light level. Rain water is following that trim, dumping water on my headliner. Park pointed down hill, water to front of truck. Park pointed uphill, water fills storage under rear seats. 😡🤬

    Sooo if you had to take it off again to replace a bulb...what would you do? Haha

      Remove it, replace bulb and reseal again. I have done this on 2 different trucks. The chmsl is now an led so if I had to replace a bulb it would be the assembly.

      The trim (Ditch Trim) left and right of the third brake light, is where water is following the trim and returning to my headliner. Park uphill, fills storage under rear seats. Park downhill the water comes out the front grab handles.
