I'm really glad you're manual swapping your B5 S4. It was the only thing I didn't "like" about your B5, lol. I've got a 2002 6-Speed (also Santorin Blue) with Nogaro Blue seats and Aluminum trim. I'm enjoying your vids bro, keep it up👍
Hahaha nice! Yeah trust me that was the only thing I didn't like about it. Love the blue interior man! How does it look with Santorin blue? I was considering maybe doing that interior swap in the future but wasn't sure the Nogaro blue would go with the Santorin.
Jake.B5 The original owner ordered it with it. Anybody who's seen it thinks it looks great. I think it looks good, but if I had the chance I would have gotten a Nogaro Blue S4 lol.
Seems like everybody likes the Santorin Blue though.

Awesome content man, keep em coming! How is it having a tip b5 s4, driveability wise? Where im from we didnt get the B5 S4 at all, so im swapping a 2.7t allroad motor into a 2.8 quattro. The problem is, you guessed it, its tiptronic... The challenge is finding a manual quattro box here is like looking for a 4 leaf clover. Im leaning towards completing my swop and doing the trans swop when i eventually do find a box.
It's honestly not bad at all to drive, but it's mainly not as fun and enjoyable than the manual. Good luck man!

Wow $950 for a clutch kit! Doing a budget swap to an 99 A4 1.8t but only spent $70 for the clutch since the flywheel was still good from the donor car. ;) Keep in mind on the 1.8t engine the crank is slightly shorter for the pilot bearing to fit (auto vs manual) so either you can get an adapter or custom fit another bearing. Also when getting a 3 pedal assembly some cars had an electric accelerator pedal and others a cable.
Been delayed by the weather but now halfway through the swap. Have 3 pedals in, hydraulics, and clutch/flywheel mounted.
Finally finished. Runs great, also figured out how to wire in reverse light to manual transmission to auto transmission harness
hello ..after I change the mechanical part .. what do I have to do with the electrical part .. do I have to change the ecu ??or can I change the electrical installation on the motor and it starts ??

Yep, I believe so. You can use an automatic ECU but you need to use VCDS to recode it
Dont you also need a radiator as auto has atf warmer ?
You don't need a new one. You can just disconnect the lines for the ATF and leave the holes in the radiator. Technically it doesn't cool as well as the manual radiator, but I haven't noticed a difference.

I just want a manual b9 decently equipped, but all the nice one are automatics. 🙁 The double clutch trans is not so realiable and involving as the manual. I don't get it why people get automatic.

Wiring harness?
I was able to make my own wiring for the pedals, and ran my own wire for the reverse light, therefore I didn't have to get the manual harness.
Please get back to me i put a o1a in my b5 s4 and all it will do is crank
Why'd you put a 5 speed trans in an s4?
The tiptronic auto died and couldn't find 01e what am I doing wrong everything bolted up fine put new crank sensor in and all I get is crank and fuel no tach and no spark
How can you afford all of these parts? 😂 when I was your age and working I could barley afford basic repairs let alone a full swap 😂
