    I very much appreciate the availability of factions like Gundabad and Ered Luin who aren't locked into the classic Middle Earth battle between good and evil. In fact both of these factions have a strong incentive to betray their side and play for the other team(or go total war if that's your thing). For Ered Luin it's much more subtle, in just securing the High Elves' amazing economic hub in the west whereas for Gundabad it's actually having access to unique units. I especially like the fact that in both cases this doesn't even go against the lore but is actually very lore friendly. In Ered Luin's case it's the temptation of the rings(well ring in their case) of power on the good races, which worked for the men(created the Nazgul), utterly failed on the Elves and had mixed results on the Dwarves so it makes perfect sense to leave this choice in the player's hands. For Gundabad there has always been this rivalry between Sauron and his predecessor: Melkor, with Sauron seeking to outdo Melkor and become the supreme evil power in the world. Gundabad being strict followers of Melkor can certainly see Sauron's influence as sort of heretical(if borrowing from the Catholic Church and its various religious wars against the other Christian sects) and thus choose to turn on Sauron in the name of Melkor, looking to take Sauron down a peg and deny him the ability to potentially surpass Melkor's power.

    A tip for Mountain Orc Hunters. They are absolute must units for the Dwarve factions. I like to use any infantry unit (as hammer) then bring the MOHs (as anvil). The MOHs will rip the Dwarven units to shreds as the Dwarves don't use many archers. MOHs are also cheap in price and can be spammed.

      Nah. Wargs are the must for dwarves. Having cavalry advantage is huge when the event doesn’t have any. Hammer and anvil is killer against dwarves with the wargs

      @@21films92wargs are one of the only things that make orc factions actually playable imo. The strength in numbers really doesn’t work into the late game

    You have so many forts nearby, its p[ossible to have almost or actually 0 maintenance unless you are actually on the offensive, makes the early game economy surprisingly strong.

    fun fact in the extended version of the third hobbit movie there are an archer version of the 3-tier infantry is seen. plus, shielded spears and dual weapons of the 3rd tier infantry.

      Obviously they are not great fighters. They are not meant to be. They rely on their numbers but Two thing's can be done well three.
      New unit like A shaman too boost morale.
      Since they fight dirty, have all archers even their basic poison arrows.
      Since in close combat they are not as skilled increase the ability too give fear to their enemies, not Just the elite units.. 👍

      I think the makers of the mod have not got it all that wrong. Tolkien himself said orcs are incompetent fighters and pathetic cowards who dare to do anything only in large groups. Boromir was fighting ALL ALONE when he killed more than twenty orcs before succumbing to their much greater numbers. Free Peoples typically have a problem with quantities, factions of darkness relying on orcs always had a relatively serious problem with quality of their troops. That is how it was in Tolkiens books too. There is a reason why Sauron challenged Gondor only with forces that vastly outnumbered Gondors forces. That reason is the woefully bad quality of orc forces. You, too, are asking for trouble, asking to get your butt kicked if you play with an orc faction and go to war against any Numenorean or Elven faction with equal numbers, especially if most of your forces are not the best available orcs but mere snagas. I think it should remain that way in order to remain lore friendly.

      @@Cybernaut76I’m also one of the rare few who likes orcs and likes playing as the horde orc factions (Mordor, Dol Guldor, and Goblins of Moria). I like swarming my enemies and being able to recruit large armies fast despite their poor quality.

    Sons of the fallen and orc avengers are a good lore units that shows the long war of orcs and dwarves.

    Iirc mount gram gives angmar cav as well- upgrading the town hall will reset their recruitment there. But I agree the recruitment times are ridiculous. The time for recruiting black pit crossbows is also a bit slow too (moria's only roster fill other than the defilers) but I suppose the waystation is meant to assist with low recruitment :/

    Is there a reason why the Mount Gram units come from Carn Dûm rather than Mount Gram itself? Mount Gram makes more sense so I wonder if it is due to how the capitals are set up. Regardless thanks for the overview, Gundabad is one of the obscure factions and its nice to have all its specialties laid out.

      I believe they should also be available in Mount Gram. I however only thought to look at the capitals as that is typically where the units are unlocked.

    I really hope that maybe there will be a submod or update that moves them visualy wise more towards how bolg champions and the pale uruks look, more armoured more elite

      @Dremoracaptain Right? I'd really like a confederation option like the Northern Dunedain have. Throw in some hill trolls and trollbuchets that we got in RotWK and it's a solid rep of Angmar.

    Please reduce recruitment times for orc units outside of the main roster. Waiting 40 turns is insane for an orc unit.

    21:03 I believe mordor has to be eliminated in order for gundabad to get access to great beasts

      I had so much crashes too. The install guides are somehow not really helpful enough. I am testing for myself at the moment how the game handles different graphic setting options. I had them all maxed in the past. Let's see.

      you only have to worry about medieval 2 crashing since how old the game is so tuff to get few older games with newer consoles.

      U can up the amount of ram which medieval 2 uses which gets rid of 99% of crashes as steam by default limits it 2 2gb for some reason

      one year late, but from my experience, DaC is exeptionally stable for a medieval 2 mod. On rare occasions (and only on potatoes with very low ram) the game can crash during the first end turn, caused by the script heavy auto expansion. But besides that, DaC runs way better than eg. Third age. Neither balrogs nor ents (who used to crash the game all the time) are a problem, and if a game situation occurs that does crash the game then it's not bc of the main mod, but because of base game problems with AI behaviour.
      If your game crashes, it's most likely during an end turn (but there's also alyways an autosave generated right when you hit the end-turn button) and on very, VERY rare occasions it can crash right after a battle. So just to be sure, alsways save before a battle to not lose any significant progress.
      edit: also, i'm really not sure about this, but as far as i can remember arachir (old mod leader) mentioned that they integrated higher RAM-usage into the mod, so that RAM usage is no longer capped very low.

    I often use Half Trolls as Skinchanger killers, throw their javelins and then go toe to toe with the Skinchangers,

      There is a lot of gate keeping with the modding team. I thought at first that it was because of AI balancing (Snow Orcs steam roll over EVERYTHING AI ALWAYS, every game i ever played they wreck Vale, Wood Elves and Erebor), but then again AI does not use production and economy at all (they are somewhat constricted by recruitment) so it does not matter.
      They are not horde faction, that is the only reason i can think of

      @@maximusd26 i know, that is the gatekeeping i was talking about. The argument is "game is too easy as it is", and for extreme minority that might be the case. However, hard does not always means fun. I dislike AI spawning army after army on top of the extra starting armies on top of free recruitment without upkeep on top of the free settlements, but i can understand it to a degree. That being said, fighting hundreds of battles where are you outnumbered 10:1 and expected to loose almost nothing time after time after time after time as the only means to have a sliver of army is the opposite of fun. Losing half of your economy because you moved one unit out of the city while AI is fielding tens of thousands of troops without any cost is... well.... it makes you loose all interest in all the rich lore that seems as nothing but fluff in the game that ignore half its own mechanics
