Excellent response Bishop Barron, but I think God knows everything prior to when it happens, during the event, and what happens after it. Even the catastrophic things that occur, He knows they will occur and He does permit such events. Not to be cruel in the least. Because He loves us! I know that may not make sense to many, but it's only one person's opinion. Have a Blessed evening!❤

God is. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, Infinite, Eternal Wisdom. So, being something more than a “bring”, God is outside of time. So, the answer is simply “yes”. We attribute all-knowing to God. Can we know all things about all people at once if we were outside of time? Could our human minds handle such a thing? So, if God is capable of such things, then yes he knows all that we will choose even before we do. Look at the last moments of Jesus with His Apostles. He knew every occurrence before it happened. This is why we must trust Him and make the right choices. So why does God not change the outcomes? Because they already happened for Him and He sees what we cannot see, the trickledown effect of that present moment to that which will occur in the far future which we will never see in our brief moment of life in time on this Earth.

No free will = No sin
    See Genesis 2:16-17
God commissioned free will (self-will) in man in the garden by commandment - an irresistible will to fulfill one’s own desire (see Jeremiah 2:24). Eve came out of Adam’s flesh. When Adam took from Eve, he was taking of his own flesh, fulfilling it.
Jesus was born with his own free will too. But his came with an overriding commandment (John 6:38). And “sin” for him was not possible.
Go ahead, I say, boast and be proud of your own will. Celebrate it. It’s only there for you to trip up in life, and ever need a Savior.

We have free will but we don’t know everything. We make bad choices but we also make them because we don’t see the whole picture and we get doubts in the true existence of God. After our big mistake that’s the time we gain wisdom. But we are not all like me, some like our Holy Mother, has the wisdom, the trust, the love for our Holy God. Maybe that is the reason she was chosen to be the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the mother of the Son and the daughter of the Father. The handmaiden of the Lord. Generations will call her Blessed.

@@ChaChaDancin having free will means our will is the cause of its own movement, but not the first cause, which is God. Now, by moving our free wills God does not deprive their actions of being voluntary, “but rather is He the cause of this very thing in them; for He operates in each thing according to its own nature.” (St. Thomas Aquinas, ST I, q.83, a.1 ad 3)

Actually no..he doesn't know everything. Jesus himself said that he did not know the time of his return. And many times in scripture GOD asks questions of ppl that he should've known the answer to if he knows everything. He knows all the choices we CAN make, but not necessarily what choice we will make

Aquinas was wrong. God does know everything from before the beginning and all completely in the future. This is His supernatural knowledge. However, God is not in some "Eternal Now"! That would mean God was forever experiencing everything such as when He had to experience His Son suffering the crucifixion. The fact is, God is METATEMPORAL. God has His divine timeline, which we cannot comprehend fully. This means He has a before, a now, and a future where He has events. But He has given us a timeline also in which He can interact with the world He created. So there are 2 timelines and God experiences both. God is eternal and so is His timeline. God is not arrested in some "eternal now."
