This guy is pretty good we are defo gonna check him out 🙌🏼 if you want to learn how to compose like this even more, Vince Gilligan (creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) is the King of locked off shots and using composition to make shots look so interesting without movement, he's the reason why I'm so inspired to do shots that only have intention and reason behind them, so only have movement if it actually adds to the story!! 🔥🔥
Yes! Jake and Danny have actually been a huge inspiration to take time for composition, work more wore with static shots and reintroduce camera movement intentionally.
I'm disappointed you didn't talk about all the walking back and forth to retrieve the camera after walking so far out to get a certain shot only to have to go all the way back while footage is still rolling...

I literally have a sticky note on my wall that says "YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE EVERY SHOT YOU TAKE" to remind myself that I can try things and just not use them in an edit if it doesn't work out. I don't know why it's so hard to internalize that.
You nailed it Matti- Even though the shot of Jake on the skateboard is done by a third person I felt the same- I was so in his head and paying attention to the meaning of the words that Jake so poetically expresses on most of his videos that I no longer pay attention to the shot as I feel I am in the scene its self. - Great stuff Kids. Cool video, well done ! When traveling i'd like to use outdoors a portable lightweight RGB light to light me up at distances of 5-7m. How many Watts and Lumens would it have to be in your opinion to work well both at cloudy day and at night at this distance ?

I’m sorry this was horrible I’m sure you have fans that just genuinely love you but I’ll be your honest critic. The title is how to film Broll and all you guys manage to do is laugh and talk about how fun it is or how you think of your scenes. When explaining how to shoot broll maybe tell us what movements you did how you set things up how many takes it took if you used a gimbal. Did you pan left or is it all in the software. Although you are a great film maker which you are your also a horrible instructor. Lol but thanks for the beautiful scenes but I curse you for wasting 14 minutes of my life at 6:00 am with me trying to learn something but gaining-15 percent knowledge I’m more confused then when I clicked on the video🤦🏾♂️

The thing that always worries me, when I think about making a video "alone", is leaving the camera away from me and someone stealing something from my equipment, be it a gopro, an Insta360 or your main camera... it's a thing of youtubers who make so many videos... therefore statistically more likely.... Have you never had problems of this type? Thanks
All I do for my vlogs are solo, and many times a bit hectic so I’m always trying to learn new tips. This was helpful. If anyone else has tips I’d be interested too

Solo broll is pretty much mandatory with my content. Back-country travel really leaves no other options. Especially if you are a solo hiker like I am. Good tips though.
