  • I know it’s been over a month but man was there a lot of sanding involved. Apologies, but I wouldn’t wish this much infinite dust and detail work on anyone. Smh. It has-paid off though, the end result is. More than I hoped for. Low bar, I get it, but it made me happy.

Thank you kindly. I will have another engine video coming out soon on this car, I just keep getting sidetracked.

Great job. Thanks for posting your work on this car. The engine bay came out fantastic. Great idea, having the local paint shop mix up the paint and put it in spray cans. This not your first rodeo. Thanks for sharing.

Hey brother great work .... for the engine bay you shoukd use a d.a. sander to say the paint off then use grinder or full Sander as needed to clean up the bad spots .....

I tried the d.a. but there are sooo many twists and bends on all of the panels I couldn't really benefit from it. Smaller tools made it a lot easier.

@4inTune58D there is a foam bad that goes between you da pad and the paper called an interface pad ... its specifically for sanding curved surfaces. ... can get them in a couple different sizes .... but in the end the result is awesome and great work ... engine bays are the most time consuming area ... as well as wheel wells and trunks ... ( autobody tech. 25 years )

Thanks for the tip, I’ve not seen them but will surely look into it.

@@4inTune58D I also have a d.a. that has a 3" pad ... pretty handy for tight areas .... body work is always about time ... and time is precious...

Untold hours of sanding and prep work. I know it’s been a while since the last episode but sanding is boring so I only left the highlights.
