Yes, I will definitely create some videos around that! In the meantime, I do have a video up right now that's a tutorial of how we create our market bouquets. If that's something you're interested in- check out the video titled- "How We Create Our Hand-Tied Bouquets" :)
There is a mini zinnia that I NEVER see anyone talk about and its called ANDES JEWEL. The blooms truly are mini! Around the size of a nickel. I've only ever seen it come it one color, redish/orange. The stems are long like any other good cutting zinnia. I've been using them for 3 yrs now.
My favourite fillers to use are Astilbe and poppy pods. Now for a story; I was showing a young child at my market how I used to open the snapdragon mouths when I was her age and put my finger into the flower's mouth. I scared her - ooops - she thought the flower was eating my finger. That didn't go as I planned. The mom still bought the bouquet.
Love that story! Glad it worked out for you ;) I LOVE astilbe and poppy pods- I just don't grow them myself. Hopefully someday I can find the room to grow them!
Great suggestion! If you scroll a few videos back, I do have one up right now that talks about how to harvest some of the more popular varieties of cut flowers- it's called 'How-To Harvest Flowers for Maximum Vase Life" :)
Yes! All favorites! I grow quite a bit of feverfew myself and I agree, having a bit of white lace in your arrangements is so fun! The only reason, I didn't include them is because they don't throw up quite as many stems as the other varieties I listed- still worth growing though!
I would love your 1/4 acre plan but we dont have any land. Can you make something similar but for like a home garden. Maybe like 10x20 feet? I would totally buy that.
My garden suffered heat and drought in 8b Austin TX and best be described as "extra crispy." I love the snapdragons for their tall spires and range of colors. Gomphrena is also a great filler flower as a different shape to offset other showier blooms like dahlias.
About to film a "favorite fillers" video myself! I don't like the smell of Cinnamon Basil so I'd have to switch that out with Lemon Basil or lemon balm, & then add cosmos or Marigold foliage for some more green, & then either Dill, Ammi, or statice fir some more airy texture! But I agree with all of your choices! 👌
How do you get your Sweet Williams to bloom all summer long ? Mine will bloom early summer and then maybe a few blooms at the end of summer . Is there a specific variety that blooms all summer long ?
I’ve always planted the Amazon series and have had amazing luck with it! Not sure if it ‘normally’ blooms for such a long window of time but for the last two years it has certainly surpassed my expectations.. best of luck!
Great video! I love yarrow because it is native here in Alaska and so easy to grow! Have you tried using any shrub/tree foliage? I just started cutting from my mountain ash tree, which has pretty leaves and red berries and it makes for great filler!
Thank you! What a great idea to forage from your trees! The red berries especially would be a great addition to any arrangement :) I haven't foraged much from myself- only because I have a hard enough time keeping up with the flowers in the garden;)
Love, love, love your videos! A couple questions: Will the yarrow and rudbekia get taller each year? My ageratum has never bloomed, I have the dondo blue. My straw flowers have stems the width of sunflower stems. Maybe I should pinch earlier? I’m in south GA , 8b.
Awe thank you! I don't currently have any permanent beds here at our farm- so I treat everything like an annual.. even my yarrow and rudbekia. I have found that I get much taller stems when I fall plant those flowers verses trying to plant them in the early spring. I don't have experience with the dondo blue variety you mention. I used the "Tall Blue Planet" ageratum seed from Johnny's. Hmm.. that's interesting with your strawflower. It never hurts to do some trial and error! I would imagine pinching would help- I can't say that I have ever had stems that thick. Best of luck!
You are so welcome ;) To answer your question, yes- yarrow is a perennial. I treat it like an annual and grow a new crop of it each year, only because I don't currently have any permanent beds in my garden where I grow perennials.
Please make a flower bouquet or arrangement with all your beautiful flowers you grow, here in a video 🙏🏽 I would love to watch!

I would love a video on harvesting and conditioning flowers and fillers. Thank you so much for your videos! Learning so much from you!❤️

What about feverfew and orlaya? Gotta have a bit of white lace!

I agree, gomphrena is such a fun filler too! Hoping that you get some relief from your warm, dry summer!💛
Will be trying gomphrena this year.
Awesome! 💛
I love Dara as a filler. One of my favorites. It and celosia are my top two. They both produce and produce more, all summer long!
Dara is a good one! So many great options 💛
I love gomphrena, it's so magical
Yes, it is!

Yum, lemon scented anything is always a good choice 😉 Sounds like you have a great list yourself! 💛💛
You are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for this video. It’s so inspiring! 🤩
Awe thank you so much for being here and tuning in! 💛
I like using statis and German statis as fillers as well. And though I don't always like gypsophilia , I do like the larger headed type.
Yes 🙌 statice is another great option! 💛
orlay/ammi/molycella
Your information is very helpful thank you. Which basil do you grow? Mine wilts in bouquets.

I saw a grass type plant in your bouquet. Very airy looking. I am looking for wispy fillers, tiny flowers like baby’s breath? Any ideas?
I believe the grass you're referring to is Frosted Explosion Grass- it's a great filler, easy to grow from seed!
I would like to try Yarrow this year. Do you grow it as an annual and remove it in the fall?
I do grow it as an annual though I have many friends who grow it as a perennial too.. in a lot of cases, it’s just a matter of preference 💛

@@twosistersflowerfarm thank you! You are so kind to answer my novice questions!

Where did you get the variegated basil seed from?
The variegated basil I actually purchased as plugs from 'Farmer Bailey'- but all my other basil seeds, I did purchase those from Johnny Seeds.
I just looked and it appears that Burpee Seeds does carry seeds of the variegated variety. Look for 'Pesto Perpetuo' .. Good Luck!
was that a zinnia when you were holding the bouquet...the yellow one?
I think you might be referring to the yellow strawflower?? I watched back the video and I don't think I saw zinnias in there.

@@jagvipers777 Yes, the bouquet at 7:36 did have some yellow zinnias in there :)
