How did you make each link for our U-Pick events? For each date the single adult and the combo tickets? Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thank you
This is great information. I attended a you pick this year just to see what one was like in person and was shocked at how uneven the edges of the garden was. I thought I was going to break my ankle. I'm sure yours wasn't like that but do insurance agents come out to inspect the gardens before you can open up to the public? This is the part that is intimidating for me.
How did you make the licks for your U- pick events and adding them to your website? For the single adult and the combo tickets. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to host U pick events at my flower farm next year. Thank you
GREAT video ! I have questions : how many weeks do you do " you pick"...how many people/tickets do you sell, how many hours are you open , which days are you closed, how much do you charge and what do they get . What kind of bathroom facilities do you have ? thank yoi
Hey so I just discovered your channel and was watching a bunch of your videos!! Only to discover that you work on a dairy farm!!!!!! I love it!! That is were I grew up, on a dairy farm in central PA . Anyway you said in one of your videos that you're grow lights are led shop lights , I assume there is no special bulbs in them just led bulbs ? That would be so much cheaper then having to buy special grow lights . Thanks for your content and hard work !
That's so cool! Love connecting with fellow dairy farmers ;) And to answer your question, yes! I use just regular led shop lights that I buy off of Amazon.. I believe I link the exact ones I use in the description box of a previous video. I really should link them more often, but if you scroll back to the video titled "Where I Buy My Cut Flower Garden Supplies" you should find it there. Thanks for being here!
Wonderful video! So helpful!! Just a note, you said pint jar and it appears to be a wide mouth quart jar. Is that correct? Thank you, I love your videos so helpful to new growers!
This was really interesting. I live in Oregon. Think I will look up you pick floweres around here. Maybe, I'll find something. I found you through Roxann. Blessings on your business!
I want to start a flower farm and I have three acres I'm working on clearing. I don't know if i can even have a you pick farm on uneven land? Any thoughts?!
Love, love, love this video! So much useful content. I would like to get info on insurance and all of that but I'm in France so it would be completely different in any case.
I’m sorry, I am sure you went over this through out the video. As I was Taking notes I may Have missed it. Was it 1 ticket= 1 person= 1 jar? And price charged ?
Great video. Thanks you! What did you do or do you recommend on stormy days? Also, did you have to turn away anyone who wanted to walk up to purchase a ticket the same day?
Great info. You mentioned zinnias, cosmos, marigolds and celosia. Assuming you also grew sunflowers as well. Any others you planted and will definitely plant again? Thanks!
Yep, we grow plenty of sunflowers. Also love snapdragons :) We have a couple of videos "Must-Grow Cut Flowers" and a "Favorite Fillers" video that might be of interest to you- in those videos, I share a bit more of some of our favorite flowers to grow:)
Thank you so much for sharing this! I noticed your pricing for the events had a range. What is the difference for the customers who pay $24 and the ones who pay $34? Just curious!
The $24 was for a 'single adult ticket' and the $34 was a "adult/child combo". While we didn't have many children visit our farm this season, I wanted parents to have an option to pick smaller quantities if need be. With the adult/child combo- they received that same large jar for the adult and a smaller jar for the child to fill. Hope this helps:)
This explains one thing but do you find that having an option to bring children was difficult by having children running around unattended or was that not a problem?
This was so interesting and helpful. It's an idea I just started exploring. How did you advertise the events when you first started doing it? How did people know where to pre-purchase tickets? Thanks in advance.
Branching. They are easier to make something with, and also the stems are very thick. Not suitable for jarpicking as in this case. Most customers would like to have more than five flowers in their jar I think. :)
We only planted single stem in our field this year. For us, the single stem varieties worked well- but it never hurts to try something else and see how it goes;)
I have a blogging background so I used Wordpress to create the website- specifically the plug-in Elementor. There's a bit of a learning curve with Wordpress and if you're just starting out it may be better to start with something like Squarespace :)
I think it's for visibility from a distance. They are used for a lot of things, but one use is marking property lines. It makes it much easier to see from far away to have that white on top.
What an ambitious, beautiful, inspiring, and intelligent woman you are! Keep up all your great work!
Thank you! I’ve been rolling this around in my head. It’s always good to hear of people surprising us with respect of our property and time🌸💗🌸
Thank you for sharing, its so nice to have information and inspiration ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Can you talk more about how many people come to
Your u- picks and how many flowers you think you’d need to support a weekly upick? Thanks 😊
My best wishes, ✨I Know,
This video is made after a lot of hard work.
So satisfying, Best wishes
---always watch your videos
Wish your support ❤
Thank you!!
Nice looking farm...
Thank you!

Brilliant insight thank you. Can you advise what size your jars are
One of the best videos. Great information.
Glad you think so!💛

Do you say what kind of flowers will be in bloom for the particular ticket sale? For instance 'Spring Event will have daffodils, tulips, etc.' ?
Could you tell me what app you use for your flower farm reservations?

@@twosistersflowerfarm Thank you for explaining! That is a fabulous idea. I'm enjoying learning from you!

Great video.. someday my dream will come true... this would be part of it
I hope your dreams come true! You can do it!
How much do you charge per ticket for you pick?
This was so interesting and helpful. It's an idea I just started exploring. How did you advertise the events when you first started doing it? How did people know where to pre-purchase tickets? Thanks in advance.
Do you offer DIY buckets? If so, how does that work?
Our customers have the option to upgrade to a bucket if they'd like to pick more flowers. The process is the same- we just charge more ;)
How wide are your aisles?
Only about two feet.. they get much smaller as the flowers mature into larger plants ;)
You’ve got me thinking about having a U-pick area in my field. Would it be better to have branching sunflowers rather than single stem?
Branching. They are easier to make something with,
and also the stems are very thick. Not suitable for jarpicking as in this case. Most customers would like to have more than five flowers in their jar I think. :)

Hi what did you charge per person for the upick?
What happens with the fabric from the aisles and the black plastic at the end of the season?
We pull it all up so that we can plant a cover crop in the field- which will help prepare the field to be planted again next year!
@@twosistersflowerfarm what cover crop do you plant and when? Thanks you so much!
What did you use to make the website? Thanks!
I have a blogging background so I used Wordpress to create the website- specifically the plug-in Elementor. There's a bit of a learning curve with Wordpress and if you're just starting out it may be better to start with something like Squarespace :)
Why the iron stakes are white at the top?
That's just how they came. Not sure the purpose of the white but it's not something that we added or anything.
I think it's for visibility from a distance. They are used for a lot of things, but one use is marking property lines. It makes it much easier to see from far away to have that white on top.
How many u pick events do you have between July-Sept?
We did 3-4/week 💛
Not having restroom facilities has held us back from doing this.
We don't have a restroom available to our u-pickers either. I let them know that ahead of time. And honestly, it hasn't been an issue this year.
You addressed my fears!!! Happily subscribed. ♥️
How do you do your U-pick tickets 🎟? How much are people allowed to pick for what they pay?
Interested in a U-pick flower farm.
Thanks in advance !
