- DO TAIWANESE PEOPLE REALLY DISLIKE THE PHILIPPINES?
Last week we posted a survey done by the Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation that showed The Philippines to be the second most disliked country in Taiwan. Observers were surprised by the results and asked us to find out if it was true. So we took to the streets of Taipei to find out what people on the street thought of this survey and how they felt about The Philippines. - ตลก

This survey is really weird. I'm Taiwanese, and I've never heard of people saying that they dislike Filipino. I wonder who made this survey. As you can see in this video, most Taiwanese like Filipino.
Some of my best friends in university were Filipino. We used to drink together San Miguel beer.

I’m Taiwanese, honestly I haven’t heard anyone who hates Filipino in Taiwan, I doubt this survey , honestly North Korea is not either , China might rank no.1 for sure

Rey Pascual, don’t generalize. I work with a lot of Chinese from the mainland and they are kind people too. In every country, there are some that we may dislike, doesn’t mean all of them are bad.

I'm from the Netherlands and i traveled all over the world. The Filipinos are, by far, the nicest people i ever met! Even if you see Filipinos in other countries you can spot them right away because they are always friendly and smiling. Ang ganda ng Pilipinas!

Pres. Quirino said Philippines will help just in case China will invade Taiwan.
Taiwan is another country that China keeps bullying so we Filipinos tend to help them in that case. And who will ever hat Taiwan? They introduced Meteor Garden to us and they are friendlier than those in the main land.

Ever since 2017, Philippine-Taiwan relations have been getting better, so much so up to the point that China even protested against the Philippines when it got to signing deals with Taiwan. Taiwan even helped with war-torn Marawi

I’ve been in Taiwan for twelve years and i never heard or found them showing any bad treatment to us. They’re so friendly too and if there’s some filipinos had been treated bad it’s just too minimal and that’s just normal to happened regardless of which country you are working.

Actually, we used to have a Taiwanese neighbor and he was really really nice! When he cooks Taiwanese style siopao, he never forgets to give us. He’ll randomly knock on our door and share his blessings. He was a good man from what I can remember but a bit of a disciplinarian to his kids. But all in all, he was not rude and airy unlike Chinese people who usually goes to Philippines.
Love dogs do some research. There’s a lot of chinese drug dealers and law violators in the Philippines. So we should be the one who’s saying “leave us alone”.

Exactly! Taiwanese prefer Filipinos over any mainland Chinese. We are more related than with mainland Chinese.

Quite skeptical. I've met some Taiwanese and they are really great people. Understanding, accepting. Never once have I felt discriminated against.
This is not true, i been to taiwan and theres a lot of filipinos working in taiwan. Ok let me speak base on my experience, to all 11 asian countries i have ever been taiwanese people are the most helpful,generous and polite, base on my experience. Even the taiwanese peoplw who dosent speak english will try to help you if they sense that you needed help by sign language and when they hear your from philippines they will give you a huge happy smile.

Second, yes we work on orchard bars because most of the bars have karaoke and we love singing very much...
Edit: which is also the reason why we tend to be loud.

Taiwanese don't have personal grudges against Philippines. The only reason I can think of why Philippines came out on the survey is because of an issue where the Philippine coast guard shot a Taiwanese fisherman.

I respect your view about DU30 and human rights. I mean, I all support DU30's advocacies and plans, cuz that would be a big help to our decaying country. New airports being built, improving public transportation, catching all the corrupt officials, creating a more sustainable environment, rehabilitating and preserving parts of our country from pollution, making our country more globally competitive, and the list goes on and on and on. But there is one thing I disagree about: it's killing the suspects. I REALLY LIKED DU30's commitment on making our country drug free, but I just could not accept the fact that humans (that are capable of change) are being put down. I mean, if he/she is a serious case, why not lifelong imprisonment? Being recruited compulsory to the army or navy? Things like that are being done in other countries.. I get it that some people are not religious so they might not agree, but what if they were in the shoes of the suspects' families? Your dad was shot multiple times in front of you for using cocaine, your mom was shot in the head for puhsing drugs, your addict brother/sister did not come back to your house because he/she was shot? Yes, those people must be punished. Those people must pay the price the hard way. But what price there is to pay if a bullet has goe through your chest? We all know that ppl change. They must suffer the consequences for possessing ilegal drugs. But killing them and not giving them chances to prove themselves is not cool. I LOVE DU30, HE IS ONE OF THE BEST LEADERS OUR COUNTRY HAS HAD. BUT IF THERE'S ONE THING I DON'T AGREE WITH, its killing people.

I’m a Filipino and I really love Taiwan ! I went there last month . Taiwanese are really down to earth and very humble . My vacation there last month was the best vacation I’ve ever had so far. I am a Filipino and I love Taiwan. When we visited Green Island , the local people look Filipino and some of their words is almost similar to Filipino language. The stone houses too also looked like those in Batanes. I think Green Island and Orchid Island is like sister Islands of Batanes

I work with a mainlander Chinese guy and a Taiwanese guy. Chinese guy are always so kind to me, bought me food all the time and always ask me to take a longer lunch break. Taiwanese guy, when I first met him for the first time, he calls me his kababayan and that we are from the same country since PI and Taiwan are so close in proximity. Great people! we are all brothers..

It is always the common denominator of the locals of taiwan, (formosa) and so as countries the way they perceive filipinos, and so as Filipinos amongst countries worldwide, where we get along and experience the same tradition, food,culture the way countries do to countries, and foreigners to a foreign land and be it naturalized ones. Been travelling to different SEA countries from malaysia, vietnam, macau, sokor and the such. Never in my travels that i have encountered any locals that are rude and disrespectful. A respect is also traded with respect. Actually they are quite inviting when they notice that you are a Filipino. I even met an indian taxi driver in KL who is a pwd and driving only with 1 hand. Me and my family made him our service driver whenever we go back to KL every once in a while and you can really feel his happiness everytime i talk to him whenever he encounters a Filipino in their country. 😊

Hearing this lifted my burning temper from watching a previous video about how chinese think of filipino/philippines... yea, Filipinos are loud. but chinese people and other nationalities have loud people too, louder even. The girl is just generalizing because she seems ignorant towards other people's social and culture lives. Anybody who goes in groups end up being loud without them noticing their actions, whatever nationality it is. Being loud is not even a worth it reason to hate a country.
As a filipino that is true, BUT most of them are OFW common guys we must admit SOME of our people go out side the country because of lack of opportunities and most of them came from the province and don’t have adequate manners...wag tayo butt hurt totoo yan..sabi ko SOME ah hindi lahat..at aminin natin May mga region ang pinas talagang malalakas ang boses kala mo eh galit....pag masdan mo mag usap ang region ng bisaya kala mo galit pero normal lan nila yun kaya kala nila maingay tayo.

Although Taiwan is occupying one of the island in the Spratly's which is kind of strange considering the distance of that island from Taiwan, we Filipinos in general don't hate Taiwanese people or have any sort of huge beef with them and if we're going to do the same survey, they'll be like far down the bottom of the list.

I am living in taiwan currently..and Taiwanese people are really nice and kind just like filipino..my boss treated me as a family..even its hard for them to speak English but they're trying too just to understand and communicate each other..i am proud Filipino OFW here in Taiwan..😊

Am a Filipino (with partly a Chinese ancestry) who almost got married with a Taiwanese lady. We both love to travel and climb mountains. I met many of her family in Houli and friends in her school the Taiwan national open university. I may say that I was welcomed by them and many of them got good experiences in Philippines and meeting Filipinos. Though there are really a big differences between the culture of both countries which are an itch in fully accepting each others lifestyle. I miss going to Taiwan and I wish to climb the majestic Taroko national park and see the beautiful cities again. Taiwanese people are friendly and very sincere. Hope one day she may read my comment here. This is Rome from Canada.
I'm from Hawaii (I'm Hawaiian ,Chinese, filipino)...and had lived in Taiwan for a few years...and have not experience anything negative from the people of Taiwan! I found them to be all so intelligent, respectful, caring and loving people! And made a few filipino friends their as well....all mainly peaceful in everyway....so this is pretty weird and shocking!
