  • In this video, my Tacoma gets a facelift by installing Tyger Auto running boards / nerf bars. This is one of the more affordable, better-looking running boards you can add to your Tacoma. A great Mod for any 3rd Gen double cab Tacoma.
    Tips and tricks to help you install this quickly and easily!
    Pros:
    - Affordable
    - Provides added protection
    - Easy install (no drilling)
    - Lightweight
    - NO Chrome (Black textured powder coating)
    Cons:
    - Less protection than rock sliders

      Thanks. I've never been a "car guy". So mods and working on my Taco are a new adventure. Great to do the work and learn as I go.

    Good install. I am a sidestep fan. I have the predator sidesteps from Toyota on my TRD SPORT. I think the Tacoma just looks better with sidesteps and they serve multiple purposes.
    Yes, sometimes you gotta go backwards to move forward. Good job explaining how to overcome a fitment issue.
    Yup, I ate some dirt on my install. Lol. Extra cleaning beforehand is a great tip !

    Your truck looks great, with the step bar it looks way better. I got the same truck and I'm thinking about buying the same step bar that you have. I like what you do.

    I went with Go Rhino running boards on my Tacoma. Love them. They have a Raptor look to them.

    They look great and are inexpensive. Will keep these in mind for my TRD Sport:
    Safety glasses would have helped keep debris out of your eyes.

      For sure. That was totally my bad.

    It is definitely best to install the brackets first and have a second set of hands help you placing the bars in place. I had the same issue with alignment of the brackets to bar....the reason was I had misplaced the passenger and drivers side bars.🙄🙄for some odd reason they were no labeled,but after doing this they aligned just fine.

      @DJXPLRS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I wish they'd labeled them.

      I'll do a better job showing the truck. Thanks for the feedback

    Did you end up using lock tight?

    • @DJXPLRS
      @DJXPLRS  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. I have checked the bolts several times and they’re solid. No concerns.
