The longest level crossing in the UK! Busy 6-track level crossing located in Helpston, near Peterborough. The signal box is uniquely located in the middle of the level crossing. The barriers appear rather damaged, with parts being fixed together using tape.

Fantastic video of one of my top favourite level crossings in the UK!!! It really does take a very long time to walk across this crossing from one side to another as I've experienced twice now. The alarm combination as well as this really makes this quite an iconic crossing for me, one I absolutely love filming at when I get the chance, and had everything not turned out like it did, I'd have come here again back in April. Loved seeing this video though! 👍👍😁

Stuck here right now. It's a ridiculous crossing and a tunnel is needed. There's an ambulance that can't get through. This has to be one of the worst in th UK, I've been here 20 min and still nothing
the barrers are dirty but they don't bang
Much of the skirting on one barrier has been fixed with tape. The barriers need a looking at.

That's not that really long. But may I ask, how many tracks does it have?
Well it's the longest in the UK. It looks shorter in the video but when you walk across it it's actually quite long. It has 6 tracks.

Any idea which crossing has the longest manual gates?
Not too sure on this one to be honest, however I know there's a couple of crossings with very large gates on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR), specifically at Grosmomt and Newbridge. Not too sure of any on the mainline though

Hey :) how are you? Did you hear about the Norwich road Incident of December last year?
I'm good. No, I don't recall any Norwich incident.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel there was this level crossing on Norwich Road. Around the 6th of December 2019, the crossing malfunctioned. A train was going around 45mph towards the crossing. I don't know what caused it but the crossing suddenly let traffic through. 2 cars drove over the crossing at the same time the train was coming. The train was a quarter of a second away from hitting one of the cars
Ah yes I remember that. I saw the video footage of the crossing raising and then the cars crossing with inches to spare. Very freightening. I believe the crossing detection systems were being investigated.
Worst crossing I have ever been on. It really tests your patience and I'm supposed to be a very patient guy. Over 20 minutes and a really long que of cars on both sides yet these fucking trains won't stop crossing. Talk about priority, we pay tax for nothing in this country. It's a complete joke that they couldn't implement a better system.
