There is a drivers light on Lay By Crossing at Echills Wood Railway Also last year we had a malfunction with the barriers at Woods Crossing where they stopped half up, half down after the train. The signalman had to lower the barriers to raise them again. The barriers were then removed and replaced. Meanwhile, the crossing was operated by a member (usually me) standing by the crossing with two red flags in place of the barriers. There is a video on TH-cam of this during the Traction Engine Rally 2018,you can find it if you search 'Echills Wood Railway Traction Engine Rally 2018 (the thumbnail is a green steam lorry[I'm not on crossing duty that day] ). The barriers are now fixed however.
I've seen some previous videos from that railway, taking note of Lay-By crossing when it previously had two distant red flashing lights. Looks different now. Looking forward to filming the new crossings in the summer.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel just drove a test train over it earlier today. It decided to activate lights and sirens as the train cleared the crossing.ill probably upload a video of it in the week. Somebody needs to look into that tho
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel the lights have been moved closer and sirens changed.there really high pitched,I dont like them. I drove a.train past earlier and an old lady had her fingers in her ears lol
Lol - but then surely the louder the alarms, the better for this sort of crossing without barriers. Especially if cyclists and ranger vehicles will be using it. Also, is the woods crossing usually closed most of the time or does it usually open and close most of the time? And I'll look out for your video.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel yes they are louder. Woods crossing barriers are usually up unless a train is passing,I believe you are asking. The crossing is only open sundays, and Wednesdays and Fridays in Warwickshire school holidays, when the railway runs. Usually on members days it doesn't operate and driver honk/whistle alot and have speed restrictions.when operating for public the crossing is always in operation. There is technically a crossing which is closed during running right next to it. There are gates stoping people accessing the station, which are opened when running, blocking the crossing. As KWP mark it as a trail on the map, some walker arent happy with walking 2 metres to the left or right and using Woods. Is basically a manual crossing that stays open or shut depending on day.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel no no i was saying malfunction as a joke because they were completely blocked off because of the fence so no cars could stop at hem anyway
I love that little yellow flashing light at 0:44
It is actually white in colour. It is used as an indication to train drivers that the crossing is in operation.
Super shots :)
Thank you!! 👍👍
Barrier be like: "come on I ain't got all day!"...
😂😂👍
😂
😂
😂
Great video! I've seen a gateless crossing do that before. The borders need repairs, seeing as the old white ones are starting to show through!
Thanks. Most of the crossings on this line need some form of replacement soon,I just don't know when.
I think that's very Sweet😍 Miniature Steam Train in Miniature Train Station and Level Crossing in England👍 Kind regards, S.C

Cool but malfunction barrier
This would make a great route for train simulator 2020
Yeah it would, I would've thought this might be a popular route for train simulators
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel i really agree with that
What were they doing there?
Urgent underground pipe works
So just the road not the crossing
aaron smith Yes. The level crossing is not changing.
C'est pas la première fois 🤔. Superbe vidéo comme d'habitude 👍
Nice Jamie
Thx
barrier malfunction,
i wonder why...
These crossings are rather old so they occasionally malfunction
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel no no i was saying malfunction as a joke because they were completely blocked off because of the fence so no cars could stop at hem anyway
The timing is out a little thats all.
The level crossing is suppose to detect the train using track sensors but there was clearly a slight problem with detecting the train
Is the road closed?
Yes, for urgent underground pipe works
1:53
now I see what happened
Early raise 💀💀💀💀
Why just why crossing!?
LOL :D XD
Lol 😁
🍔 I love krabby pattird
Should change the wig wags
it would ruin the authenticity being a heritage railway tbh
Could of been worse
At least the road was closed 😏
