Thank you so much for this video! The pump on my 3.5 ecoboost developed a horrible clanking noise I can hear from the cabin. I monitored the pressure as I drove and it jumped some 50psi, but overall was close to the demanded pressure. Now the moment I unplugged the solenoid, the noise was gone! So I suppose I'm going to the dealer to get a $500 pump tomorrow. I don't think I'd understand the inner workings on this thing without this video. Thanks again!

i have a mercedes car with no high pressure ,pump replaced follower and cam looks ok ,but the control solinoid PWM signal cannot check ,test done with peanut test bulb found ok , so my question is if i disconnect the control wire pump should make high pressure?
