It will not really "hurt" those in the upper income brackets, but I'm quite sure the millionaires and multi-billionaires will screech to high Heaven. My wife and I are seniors and are getting by, so far. But the rapid interest rate hikes over the past year and a half in order to "reverse" the artificially induced inflation (sparked by unbridled corporate greed) has driven the interest on our equity line from about 3% to 7.9%!!! Literally hundreds of dollars difference. All this because we made some home repairs. Hopefully we won't face any major medical issues or other catastrophes in the near future. Anyway, we really appreciate all your hard word and obvious dedication to working class Americans. Good luck with your Social Security fix.

Social security tax is the most UNFAIR tax there is. I’ve been saying this for years, lift the cap! No other tax works this way. It’s absurd. It would be like saying …. You pay real estate tax of 5% on houses worth $500k or less. If your house is worth 10 million, you only pay a cap of tax on $500k. You are a Godsend Bernie. I hope this bill passes! I'm on disability and the money I get pays for rent and utilities. Medicare doesn't pay all of my medical bills (which is a lot, hence why I'm on disability) and I have to do whatever I can to find a way to earn enough money that I can pay my medical bills and pay for food. This is very hard, because I'm sick all the time or I'm going to the doctor and most companies consider me a liability. If we could raise benefits, then I could pay my medical bills and maybe even pay for food. I'm so scared that Trump will be elected, and they cut Social Security, and I may end up homeless.
