I made plain yoghurt for the first time two days ago, but wanted to learn how to make greek yoghurt This is the best video so far. You explanation is top notch .Thank you. Will definitely be trying this.
Great lecture. Before I stumbled into your channel, I made yogurt, using 2 cups of powdered milk , 4 cups of water and 4 tbsp yogurt culture, but it didn't ferment
Ok 👌👌👌 this is sour too but the sourness is always based on how long you leave it to ferment so if you want a more tangy taste then leave for 10-16hours
This looks delicious. I will be making this in the spring or summer when it warms up. I live in Scotland and it is just too cold right now in our house for the culture to work. I live in a 269 year old stone house that has awful heating lol. Our house is currently 14c and the heat has been on all night lol. But when it warms upI will be thrilled to make this yogurt. Have you kept a container of yogurt in the fridge to see how long it lasts? Just found your channel and was so delighted with this video and your explanation that I have subscribed. I cannot wait to see your other tutorials. You have such a melodious voice that I could just listen to you speak all day! Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you from the Highlands of Scotland.
Hii , you’re welcome!!! Thank you for joining the family. I have it stays 10-14days in the fridge !! Spring would definitely be the best time to get good results
Pls i love your channel so so engaging i mean i understood your process every minute. my question is this can you share where you got your utensils from like the big transparent bowl, measuring cups and spatula?
Aw thank you so much 😊… the measuring spoons and spatula any good cake shop around you should have if they don’t check big supermarkets like spar or eba or they would have for the bowls I got them from a plastic store people who sell commercial food packaging items down to the small transparent ones 😊😊
All right thank you so much. also pls the measuring cups seen in the market the biggest size is 250ml is it correct or we should take it as 200ml instead cus it is quite confusing @@RachaelOnwuaso
Hi .thanks so much for sharing your recipe with us. Please if you can, could you kindly share the name of the premade starter yogurt you used. Thank you
Welcome to the fam !!! 🤗🤗 keep it refrigerated when there’s light and when there’s no light you can keep it in your freezer to maintain the coolness . Your yoghurt should stay within 1-10days or more if refrigerated properly. However when it’s warm and no cold fridge at all the acidity level would keep increasing the warmer it gets when this happens it cna stay 24-48hrs tops without refrigeration.
For 10-14days maximum and in a constant chilled fridge, but always take it back to room temperature before using by leaving it out for an hour or 2 first. And do not sweeten your starter
No you don’t turn on the oven o. You just leave it offed if you don’t have an oven then a baco bag or any big nylon would do !! Wrap the mixture in towels then tie in a plastic bag or or stor in a big cooler. The whole point is to keep it warm through out the incubation time
You have certainly earned a subscriber. God bless you for this. I have a question pls, what will be the measurement if im to make half of your recipe? I want to use that as a trial. Thank you so much
Would this work with plant-based milk powder as well? I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the estrogen, igf-1 and possible BLV in dairy. Thanks for sharing
You can use honey to sweeten if you’re avoiding sugar but condensed milk has sugar in it. The lactorich is a good milk too. Don’t freeze your yougurt if you’re doing it for sales o
pls one more question, if you don't have unsweetened yogurt as the active live culture can you use yogourmet instead for the 4kg size maybe one satchet of yogourmet
Yes!!!! Omg that’s exactly my next video that’s dropping tomorrow!!!!you can but one satchet of yogourmet makes only 1liter of milk please check out the video for tomorrow it has all the information on how to make yoghurt with yogourmet
@@RachaelOnwuasoHi Ma'am. Please can I use lactorich powdered milk for my Greek yogurt, Can I use condensed milk or honey to sweeten my yoghurt? I make parfait and my customers always say they don't want sugar. Can I put my yoghurt in the freezer. Please where do I get this yoghurmet
Hi I don’t think so, asides chemicals like benzoate, sorbate, and natamycin(which are not the healthiest options) the best thing for your yogurt is chilling, when chilled properly yogurt can stay 10-14day to even 1month. So I think the best thing would be to make in small batches that cna sell within the 10-14days window to also maintain freshness
But if you’re looking to industrialize then please research further on the safest chemical based preservative that’ll be more compatible with your flavors and taste
You can check any supermarket around, as for Greek yoghurt and check the label to be sure it's unsweetened also you just make sure that in the ingredients listed you can see "fresh cow milk" and "active live culture"
Similar but not the same, if you put them side by side you’d notice but if you take them differently you may not see a difference. Instant filled do not have up to 3% fat butf a good quality milk should have above 3% fat
Please do😍 and don’t forget the scoop out some before sweetening so that you’d have more culture for the next 😋 it stays 10-14day in the fridge and 1-3month if frozen. (P.s : don’t freeze the culture !!
@ekeneeze3269 honestly any unsweetened Greek yoghurt brand would work, the trick is to get one that’s thick and if possible made from fresh milk (this one only helps with texture) but generally any unsweetened one would work
Yes you can!! I have a video using the active culture that’s already up on my channel too 🙌🏾 you can also check that on our for the measurements and process
Yes 13cups to 800grms if your skeptical about it you can measure from scratch 40grs of milk to 200grms of water or 1 cup of water so when you multiply the milks you have you’d know the accurate measurement of water to add. For the culture if it’s premade yogurt 1 cup of Milk to 12grms yogurt (1tbs leveled )
Rachael I ran into this video. Thank you so much, but my question is, 1. How can I get the measuring machine? 2. How can I get the yogurt starter from? Your response is highly appreciated.thank you for being so generous
The measuring scale can be gotten From any cake shop in the market or any big supermarkets but alway good to get from a cake shop or an O.K household store so that you get an accurate and functioning one. The yoghurt starter can also be gotten from a cake shop too , or you can make one at home I have. A video for that that's up already

Nice.... Thanks for sharing. My question, is it still Greek yogurt when you add sugar to it? Just a harmless question ma
Hii, yes it still is , the only thing that makes it Greek yogurt is the straining process , but sweetened or unsweetened it can't change it
