    thank you so much for answering my question! i couldn't agree more with your response, it's so important to move forwards in life with no regrets, because anything can happen in such a short period of time. setting a goal to work towards can not only provide meaning for yourself, but it opens the door to even more opportunities, like a chain reaction. it's been so inspiring seeing your journey so far, and i continue to look forward to seeing where it all takes you next! thanks as always for the videos Christian

      You said it mate!
      I don’t think people really see the benefits of goal setting and the direction it gives you. Plus the feeling you get from reaching them. Plus as you mentioned, chain reaction, other opportunities come because you are moving forward!

    Another video that did not disappoint, Christian. I totally resonate with your 5 a.m. walks for 2 or 3 hours. I have traveled all over Japan, from Kagoshima to Wakkanai at the northernmost part of Hokkaido, and long early morning walks before the sun comes up were some of my favorite things-whether it was Tokyo or Osaka before those cities came to life, or remote parts of Hokkaido in a blizzard. It is amazing how much you see and experience during these walks, and best of all, it costs you nothing, except for the stop at the convenience stores for coffee en route. Keep up the great work, mate.

      @hangswithchristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahh yess! Another early riser. I can totally see that you understand the value of waking early before the sun rises and the people hit the streets. The air is fresh, the sounds and distractions are minimal. You just can’t beat it hey! And with a coffee in hand, it makes for a perfect starter!

    Great video,and I looked up the 'Coke ON pay' logo that I saw on the vending machine, and realised that with such machines, I could pay via a card. So much easier for me, these days 😁
    This certainly is very inspiring, as it's wanting me to go to Japan and make great content over there, too, as I've mentioned before. I've had a load of work hassles that's delayed me sorting a holiday out, but it's definitely on my to-do list, hopefully before the end of the year, but I know it's snowy season from around mid-Dec, so if it gets too late, I might have to leave it until the Spring.
    I like the communication aspect you mention, too. It's great if more people want to talk to someone who's not from there, especially since when you get to a certain age - and I'm just North of 50 - you can feel a bit invisible.
    However, while for a lot of my life I've been an introvert, the big 5-0 does make you want to get out there and talk to more people, because you get that feeling of: "I might die soon", so I need to get stuff done! 😬

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha just remember, don’t use a card that will give you transaction fees each time you use it. You use the vending machines here so much so it would be easy to add up those fees!
      Ahh to be honest, I love the snowy Christmas season in Japan, it’s actually a really nice vibe so it definitely would not be at a loss coming around that time if you planned. Just chase that dream buddy!
      Nah, honestly, don’t let age hold you back. No one really cares how old you are, they are more focused on your vibe and how open you are and how you communicate. You’ll be sweet! Still wayy young.
      Think of it as facing your fears and challenging what feels difficult to you. We all never stop growing, so challenging yourself regularly can be really healthy for your mind and you will only gain from it legend 🙋🏽‍♂️🇯🇵

    • @DVDfeverGames
      @DVDfeverGames 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hangswithchristian Thanks for the tips re: the fees. Just had a quick look into that, and my bank charges 3% plus 50p each time, which would double anything from a vending machine. I've sent my bank a DM, but most likely, I'll get a ton of notes and coins from the UK before setting off, in that case 😬
      Aye, the age thing is certainly making me want to speak to more people. Since my parents passed away in 2015 and 2021, respectively, there's a need to want to make new connections. There's also always something more to learn each day, and that's how we keep the grey matter ticking over. 😃
      And for snow, maybe I'd do the snowy season for a subsequent trip, rather than the first 😬

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh if you haven’t already my number one tip for money in Japan or anywhere travelling in getting a Wise Card. By far the best rates and solution for foreign currencies. Easy to use app, get a physical card and digital card. Its what I use everyday. No fees when using in Japan if you have money converted to Yen on it.
      You’ll be absolutely fine, just go out and enjoy your time. That’s all we can do every day right! Looking forward to hearing how you get on mate 🙋🏽‍♂️🇯🇵

I’ve made attempts with a couple of my own businesses in the past, so this is my time to really explore and push for that. So I try to keep the mindset on moving forward than going back. Thanks for answering my question:) I have a half Japanese background but lived in Australia my whole life (been to Japan on little holidays though) but would like to explore my Japanese side more and experience living there for a long period of time (after studying thinking of living in Japan permanently). That's why I asked what career your pursuing in Japan to give me some inspiration on what I could do for a living in Japan or how I can live there for a long period of time. May I ask what visa you're on? If that's too much information I understand, have a good day champion!

      Oh no haha, why do you think you stuffed up?? I love a good story of saying the wrong thing in Japanese because its my daily 🤣
      Not sure you can read Japanese so I’ll keep it to romaji, but I would maybe say ‘Kyabinetto no naka no GameBoy o mite mo ii desu ka’
      Basically, The cabinets insides GameBoy, can I take a look? 👀

    Hey mate, in your other video you mentioned you liked Sydney but didn’t love it. How do you think it compares to Brisbane? Do you prefer Queensland?

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So Im originally from Brisbane so I’m a little biased haha. Though, Brisbane is alot slower, I mean alot slower, but there is a clear difference in people here. As far as a city, Sydney has that won and with access close by to the beach and also work opportunities. Though ridiculous overpriced. Brisbane is the clear winner when it comes to kindness of people and much more affordable than Sydney. But are getting very expensive though which is a shame. Though Brisbane will always be my home in Australia 🇦🇺

      So Fukuoka isn’t massive like Tokyo so everything is pretty central but the two main areas for night tend to be Tenjin and Nakatsu. I’m not big on partying these days so my rec’s probs aren’t the best haha but the best thing to do is to wander the streets and drop in and out of interesting bars hey. It’s suchh a vibe man, you will have a blast!

Otherwise I’m going to check out Japanese costco and Team Labs Borderless, and of course Lost bar for a drink or two. NYE I was going to check out one of the Techno clubs, most likely Vent, but they haven’t dropped their NYE schedule yet. And I’m stoked for you!! Your entire family will be in one place!

    Hey Christian, enjoy the vids mate. Looking to spend 4 months in japan with my family end of 2025 I want kids to experience life in a different country and I have spent a bit of time in japan and love japan !!!, food, culture, snow, architecture etc etc. My kids are 8 and 10 and we are into surfing, snowboarding and camping. We are looking spend 2 month on the coast and 2 months in the mountains where would suggest is good starting point to research, so far we are researching Miyazaki and Hakuba. We live Byron area so looking semi rural similar, actually what is the Japanese Byron ? Thanks 🌊

      Hey Richard!
      Thanks so much for watching, glad to hear you are enjoying them mate. Your upcoming plan to spend an extended period of time in Japan sounds like such a fantastic idea. Particularly for the kids also and open their minds up to a culture that is vastly different to Australia. It’s be an unforgettable experience for them!
      I also like that you want to mix it up and split your time between two different areas.
      Honestly, I moved to Kyushu to be close by the beach but haven’t yet started travelling much around it. I think you nailed it with Miyazaki though. Since you are down that way, you should look into visiting Amami Oshima.
      High on my list!
      Kamakura beach also gets high reviews for beach and surf culture.
      What time of the year are you looking at visiting?

    Hey Rockstar, what was the intention of learning the language? Did you plan on being an interpreter ? It's not an easy language, nor written as well .Well, there is my second question, too, which are you best at talking or reading the language?

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey buddy - I’ve just always wanted to know another language and years back I fell in love with Japan. So it was only natural that I’d love to further my communication when meeting people in Japan. I’d definitely say my speaking is better though. I’m purely trying to study just vocabulary right now!
      Are you studying yourself?

    • @frederickhansen7108
      @frederickhansen7108 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @hangswithchristian unfortunately no, but like yourself, I like the Japanese culture, and I would love to visit , I could picture myself living there, more in the mountains, but I definitely would need an like to speak the language.,no better way of showing respect , by being able to communicate with the people.

    • @hangswithchristian
      @hangswithchristian  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely mate, I couldn’t agree more with that last statement!
      And most definitely you would need to know Japanese if you were to be based in the countryside. Plus, it’s just a really fun journey learning any new language I think. Japanese by far is not the easiest but it is really fun learning something that is vastly different from English!
      If you did want to learn, there is an audiobook by a guy named Paul Noble on Audible. Really great Japanese lessons that are easy to follow along and gives you an amazing grounding for Japanese I found when I was starting!

      That’s a great question though an easy answer. Nothing at all and the reason is if anything were to change that would potentially change the outcome of where I am right now!
      It most definitely hasn’t been without challenges, thats for sure. But I always reflect and learn to improve later. I have a beautiful family and amazing life Im leading right now, I feel incredibly lucky and fortunate!

    Hey Christian, this was a great video as always, but I did want to say that I really recommend avoiding using AI images in your videos. I know it's a cool technology, but it's worth remembering that the use (and thefore endorsement) of it negatively impacts the lives of real artists all around the world, and on top of that, the jankiness of it with the broken hands and messed up faces is really offputting. Your storytelling and editing is absolutely engaging enough to keep people interested without the use of AI images. Cheers as always for the great content!
