A georgeous view with clean roads, stunning rivers - it looks amazing. And after seeing many meals in videos about Japan, I can see that dishwashers are a must, since every meal uses about 20 bowls! 😬
Session extremely well kept city, I was so surprised! Haha and dishwashers are such a rarity here also. I’m curious to know how normal they are in restaurants actually!
@@hangswithchristian Hi, I thought dishwashers were all the rage, as I end up seeing new-builds with them included, but I guess that's because they're new, as opposed to something like an Akiya. I worked in a restaurant for a couple of years full time in the '90s, and we had an industrial-sized machine in there. It was huge, but sometimes I wish I could have that at home. Save a great deal of time. 😁
Yeah in new homes they are pretty standard, but very small, maybe half the size regular ones. Though, in apartments I’d say its more rare due to smaller families occupying them perhaps. Haha my first job with I was a kid was a dishwasher. Loved those industrial machine. In one side, out the other. So fast and efficient!
I did thanks so much mate! I forgot how good it is to just chill and binge watch a TV show haha but easy to fall into the comfort of that fulltime 😜 Hope you are doing well mate 🙋🏽♂️✌🏽
So happy I got to see your video! And good luck with job hunting, Matt! The content, as always, was very beautifully captured! Thanks for sharing! じゃあまた
Hey mate - great to see you back! Thanks so much really appreciate the feedback. Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging of Matt also which is awesome to hear, really good dude! Appreciate it legend 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
As someone who is starting Language school in Fukuoka tommorow with the hopes of starting to work in Fukuoka after I am very interested in Matts story. Please let us in on his journey after he finds his job, how long it took, what level of Japanese he needed for the interviews etc..!! Awesome video Chris!! I am glad you enjoyed your time off!!
Oh mate! That’s so awesome, you made it to Japan 🇯🇵 congratulations and absolute best of luck on your new school life - super exciting! I forgot what school did you end up choosing?? Appreciate the kind feedback as always mate 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Yanagawa looks like an amazing place to visit. I really enjoyed seeing the canal ride & the gardens, plus hearing you talk with Matt about language school & working in Japan. All the best to him! Love the chill vibe of your videos 😊
So you enjoyed it mate! It’s a truely a nice little escape from the city for the day. Not even that far! Thanks so much for the kind feedback and I’ll be sure to pass your message onto Matt 👍🏽 Thanks legend 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
@@hangswithchristian I'm in Osaka at the moment, rode the Shimanami Kaido last weekend (over 300km 😅, everything hurts) so looking for a slowish weekend. I'll probably head to Fukuoka on the Shinkansen for a few days and bundle this as a day trip. Good timing 👍
Ohh I was just chatting in another comment with someone that lives along that ride. I’ve never done it myself, how’d you find it? Been wanting to do it for years. How was the process of hiring and returning a bike? Hope you got well rested mate and made it to Fukuoka in one piece! Haha
@@hangswithchristian I actually brought my bike all the way from Australia, but I am riding on and off for 3 months all over the place. Regarding Shimanami, there are a tonne of places to hire bikes on both sides (Onomichi and Imabari), and they do roadside emergency service too which is awesome. If you do the direct one way route it's about 75km. A lot of people had electric assist bikes which makes it super easy. The only really "hairy" bit is the bridge to Onomichi, you have to brave the traffic a bit there. Highly recommended as a two day thing, try ride in one day, have a backup plan if you can't make it. Ride back the next day or catch the ferry back, drop off bike, etc. The views are absolutely breathtaking, well worth it, while the ride is challenging for beginners it is achievable and highly rewarding. Will be heading down your way at lunch time tomorrow, looks like Sunday will be a nice day 👍
Oh wow that’s so much commitment, love that man. Can I ask, how difficult is it travelling around with a bike? Do you pack it up and bring it on the train? Yeah I’ve heard about the hire system, seems pretty straight forward. Looking forward to forward to smashing it! Oh that’s awesome man - hope you have an absolute blast in Fukuoka. Sunday looks like the only dry day atm haha but either way its a fun city legend 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵
Thanks for checking it out - you won’t be disappointed! Yanagawa is such a chill area to escape to for the day. Really relaxing and not far from Fukuoka city! 🙋🏽♂️🇯🇵🛶
The more I see of Japan the more I want to visit. I really enjoyed the video and learning about Yanagawa. Good to have you back Christian and the best of luck to Mat with the job hunting 😀

Welcome back Christian! I have fond memories of our visit to Yanagawa last year. You had better weather than we did, but we absolutely loved it nonetheless. I really enjoyed the format of the walk and talk with Matt; best of luck to him! I love the footage, too. I’m guessing this was shot on the Osmo Pocket 3? The image is very sharp, and the colours are great. What settings are you using? It’s great to have you back mate. I missed seeing your video drop last Sunday, but I’m glad you had the break you deserved. P.S. Cool transition at 08:19!
Hey buddy! Oh you’ve been to Yanagawa also? It’s a really nice town to spend the day right. Really relaxed and such a short distance away from Fukuoka city. I’ll pass on the luck to Matty - I’m sure something will come through soon enough. He’s been so proactive! And as for cameras, I always use the Osmo pocket 3 for the intro’s but I actually used the iPhone 15 Pro Max with plug in Rode Mic Go set for audio. Great setup! First time doing the whole day with the mic setup and worked flawlessly! Appreciate you coming back for the watch legend 🙋🏽♂️👍🏽
