whaaaat!? 🤯🤯🤯 The more I use Houdini, the more I'm in love with it. And your tutorials of course 🙃

Cool Thanks. A ramp is much more useful if you add a multiplier to the ramp to make the radius larger or smaller. You can do that by adding a float slider to the parameter interface( like you added the ramp) and then use the following code in the wire Radius. chramp("rampAdj",$BBY,0) * ch("rampAdjMult") Your individual names can be different than "rampAdj" etc, but that is the idea. Then save all this as a preset so you do not have to do it every time.

I've watched most of the Modo ones and I'm glad PF is opening a new chapter.

Total beginner here. Sorry if this question is stupid but would it be possible to control displacement/mountain in a similar way? I tried control "amplitude" with this trick but it shows some errors. Assuming that this way is impossible, how can I control areas of the geometry locally over the time? For example, the rbdmaterial_fracture can be controlled by bounding box. I would appreciate any tips.

Amazing thank you. I tried this expression: chramp("wradius",$BBY,0) on sphere's uniform scale and the sphere disappeared once i executed the command and gave me this error:
Unable to evaluate expression (Undefined variable (/obj/geo1/sphere1/scale)).
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks a lot

Wow, this is way simpler than my way. I was using VEX and VOPs before, haha. Thanks William!

I learned how to do this with Vex as well and discovered a Ramp node that I could use with Point VOP but need to explore that whole area of Houdini. Excited about VOPs... so many thing to learn. Keep reminding myself Im only a week in and I dont have to learn it all right away.... but I want to :)

@@Pixelfondue This is one of those things where I'm sure it's good to do it via Point VOP in that you need to 'get' VOPs to 'get' Houdini...but man I wish you could just right click an attribute to add a ramp then pick then input from a dropdown (or something like that) MODO's Shader tree does such a great job giving a bunch of 'rampable' presets that you don't have to rig up.

@@gregleuenberger Agreed. I'm looking forward to diving deeper and then at some point creates scripts that automate alot of this stuff.

@@Pixelfondue You would be a mighty hero if you could accomplish that, lol. I mean, even if you like VOPs and know what you're doing - it's nice to just click around.

@@Pixelfondue with Houdini assets you can easily create a tool and share that with others, even now at the very start. It only takes a few minutes to create one and you already have a searchable polywire node with gradient included, presets and all the controls you wish for😉

Thanks. What is $BBY equivalent in "modern VEX" in this case?
